Plus you can find these things dirt cheap. There is a 1100 goldwing here by me with bad tires and forks but runs for $250 Perfect for a build like this.
It’s all generally the same idea, just minor modifications. The only thing you genuinely need to figure out is the exact final drive (he used the whole final drive from the goldwing up to the wheel, and substituted a drive chain instead of a rim. I would assume it’s a 1-1 sprocket tooth count) everything else is the same as you would do on any other build. It boils down to what you need to fabricate if you can’t buy directly. I’d be more than happy to help if you’re actually interested in a build. I’m in the middle of doing a build myself, except I’m going with a shaft drive to an lsd (limited slip differential) off an old 318i bmw. so I don’t have to worry about the chain and sprocket going out on me or getting the ratio wrong and I’m doing a budget build using only stuff I have lying around. Makes it way more fun than just bolting a pre-made plan together.
Hi I like this set up I am thinking about building my buggy and using a Goldwing 1200 motor ok do you build the exhuast pipes or know were they cam from or how they were made could you send me some better pictures of both side coming off of the motor thanks, cool buggy.
That’s specifically why this build is stupid. Final drive from factory is around 2.7. He should’ve just used a irs diff from a side by side. Shaft to chain and sprocket is retarded.
@@longsleevethong1457 Hi Jay yes I would of used a Subaru rear differential I wish he would of knowing how they did the exhaust pipes off of the head any way there is a lot of ways they could of built it but ye shaft to chain No????
Any way to flip the motor around than have it hanging out the rear like a Porsche? Flip the gears in the transmission or something? No idea if this possible or not
i have a 1978 gl1000 on a gocart frame that i built i,ve set it up for sanddrags no supseion on front or back run great until i got the wires too close to the exhust and shorted something out need to know what wires i need just to run the engine its really bad as hell an i thought i was the only one that figured out the rearend t00k the swingarm out and mounted a spocket so let that be our secret
steering looks like it sucks... 100 HP needs real steering. other wise it looks good. I wish that he took it to red line, but if steering is iffy, then I understand why. This is why you don't use go-cart steering parts on a race car frame and engine combination...
Hi, I sold the buggy shortly after I uploaded the video, but I’ll send you whatever pics I have of it if you give me your email address. The motor already had the headers on it and the Holley carb setup, so I’m not sure what the guy who originally built it in the 80s did.
I’m really surprised that more people don’t use this engine. I would think that makes a ton of power and torque. That thing sounds mean as hell.
And the lower center of gravity. That's why mine will use one.

Except this idiot went from shaft drive to chain…

I wish there was more content on how you built it

@@jrattackkhello I have a similar build going, wondering connecting the shaft to the lsd
@@carloslopez3233just a matter of finding right shaft size🤷🏻♂️ best bet is finding a right fit at the pivot joint
Love to have an update on this. Doing a very similar thing.
Badass buggy sounds wicked any video's driving in the trails

sweet now time to move out the city /subs well what i am thinking for self
Hi also what size of sprocket are used on the rear gearbox and axle set up could you send pictures of that to thanks. looks like fun moves real good.

I just bought a joy er with a goldwing motor 1100cc!!! But sprocket does not Aline I may do w sawp how fast can I go

Not too sure if you’ll respond, but I’m doing a similar build with a GL1200 engine. Do you have pictures of the rear differential setup?
I have a 83 Goldwing 1100 How did you mount the differential to axle
I’m wanting to know the same

Can I see the drive system? I have a goldwing motor I wanna put on one go these
mate, do you have any kind of design ? im building something like that for a competitinon
I do you have any pictures you could show me I could maybe help you out thanks.
Sounds awesome
what air filter and housing is on there?
I'm going to doing a similar project myself and was curious about the parts you used to fabricate your rear end
got any thing started yet I am thinking on doing one too if you get some pictures could you share them thanks.
@@stevenpleasant5834 I don't think he's ever going to reply back
What are you using for steering rack?
Did u build this from scratch?
No, I got it as a rusty pile of metal. It was probably built from scratch some time in the 1980s
ok thx!
do an update on the power wheels
Bad ass i want one

Given that my 97 GL1500 Valkyrie with the flat 6 has 102 horsepower, I don't think the old 4 cylinder Goldwing is quite up there..
that squat tho😂
Anybody know how he did the rear end??
yes he used the stock rear drive box and put a sprocket adapter on it and mounted it bettween a bearing on each side of the axle and gearbox.
this thing needs an 4x4
Hi got those picture for me please thanks.
