Not about celebrating a festival or a feast that is not mentioned in the law, the Torah, of God. Deuteronomy 13:1 (TLV): 1“Whatever I command you, you must take care to do-you are not to add to it or take away from it. Hebrews 10:30-31 (ESV): ” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
It is a non salvation issue but yes 100% believers should not be celebrating Christmas while walking in true discipleship

I’m a Christian, I celebrate Christmas. I don’t know if Jesus was born on the 25th but it’s just a day to celebrate his birth rather he was born on the 25th or not. Therefor I will still celebrate it.

No there is an exception. December 25th used to be a pagan holiday but instead of celebrating the pagan holiday, people started to celebrate Christ on that day to destroy that pagan tradition.

It does speak against adding to God's word which was done by attributing a lie to life of Christ( December 25th birth). Please consider the fact that people who normally do not even mention anything about MESSIAH will sing about Him all Christmas long and have the song playing so their children can learn it. This may be the only time their hear the gospel. Atheists used to quote this scripture all the time to get believers to stop celebrating Christmas. Now that believers are attacking other believers, they don't have to. Sad.

During the time the bible was written it was very common to build and buy statues and idols and worships them but as u know this a sin in Christianity. To have a decorative wooden object in your home does not equate to praying to a gold and silver covered wooden idol which was done back then . I have never met a Christian that has celebrated Halloween before. I have met people that evangelise during Halloween by having a horror house (filled with rooms that talk/drama about sin and its ramifications e.g fornication, murder, etc with a alter call at the end of the house). But those who deliberately decorate their house and trick or treat nope. Never met them.

When deciding something and you're a Christian, don't follow your heart, because it's wicked and deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9-10). Instead, follow the Spirit and let him guide you. Also:
"…whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, *_do it all for the glory of God."_* - 1 Corinthians 10:31
That _includes_ whether or not you celebrate Christmas.

The context is everything. Paul is clearly talking about food here. The Jews had “holy days” they chose to fast. Its not about making up your own holidays. Just look what happened when the Israelites chose to worship God by making a golden calf. He was not pleased. Thats why in Leviticus God reveals His appointed times and feasts.
You accused him of taking things out of context then made your own context with another verse they didn’t choose to worship god by making a calf they WORSHIPED THE CALF above god and ignored the true god how you changed that context is the same if not worse

Just like putting a tree in your house and bowing down in front of it to put gifts before it. The point is that it doesnt matter what the tree or christmas or the star mean to you, its what it means to God that matters. In Leviticus God declared His appointed times and feasts that He set apart. Those are the feasts we should keep not some pagan sun god worshipping tradition renamed for christ. Imagine if your wife or girlfriend was like i know your birthday is september 5th but im gonna celebrate it on august 5th. You say but wait thats your ex boyfriends birthday, so she says yeah but thats not what it means to me.

So when they say they are having a feast for the LORD its saying a feast for YHWH not some other God. They made the calf to represent YHWH it says for the God that led them out of Egypt. Jesus said those that follow Him should teach and do ALL the law and those who do not keep even the least of the commandments and teach others to do so shall be least in the Kingdom. Torah means instruction and the Father has given us instructions on how to live. It still applies to us today.

I grew up celebrating Christmas myself! but it's very important to be knowledgeable about what we're celebrating and why. The Shepherds were out in the field when Jesus was born, during spring is when Lambs are born. The Shepherds would be out in the field watching for a new Lambs to be born. If Jesus was born in winter solstice, the Shepherds and sheep would all be in shelter cuz it gets very cold in Israel too. At the end of the day, just continue building a relationship with God and studying the bible, he will lead you in all truth. I don't think Christians should argue about these things either, but we could study things together.

One thing, the only reason why Christmas exists is because some catholic priest said the December 25 was Jesus’s birthday. And he got it from the pagan holiday, Saturnalia, which celebrates the birth of the sun god. To add a little extra, there’s a story in the Bible that burns 2 people to death (Nadab & Abihu) because the made an unauthorized fire which god did not command them to do, so he killed them by making the fire consume them.
