Hey this is pretty dope, could you possibly do a tutorial on this? I'm having trouble playing rick against any top tier characters after the beta, I feel like they gutted him a bit.
I found it difficult to do the first combo, in training mode it works, but sometimes the character doesn't enter through Rick's portal and I end up teleporting myself, this happens often, usually when they move a little even though it's a quick combo. I checked this by putting the training bot in mode: dodge after stun
@@danielawesomevideos7885 I don't think it's justified, he could keep the same hitbox while firing, I don't think it would increase, and it's not even a strong attack or something that gives an advantage anyway, It's a shame, the ones who lose out are the ones who bought it, because it was an extra detail for such a boring skin
Before reading this just note I only typed this long paragraph out because you're a good rick player and I want to see if you thought the same way. I don't know why but I'm very disappointed in how Rick plays I liked him in the beta alot in fact he was my main. But I don't like him here. One of my reasons for not liking him is his new laser gun. It's just unfair because the fully charged version has no cool down anymore and I don't like how you can't follow it anymore. I also don't like how his jab combo combos into the final hit. In the Beta it made more sense visually and I miss the power the final hit had. I also notice whenever I use the portal most of the time it just teleports me to it and makes it so I can't knock opponents into the portal. I already thought the portal should have got overhauled entirely but they just made it worse. The last reason for not liking him is the fact that his down b is dumb. I'm ok with Rick growing but I'm not ok with the enemy turning into a small reindog it makes no sense. I would prefer if they shrunk or got a random debuff. I just think he should have new moves and have existing moves overhauled entirely. I especially think this for the portal. Again do you think the same and if you want me to tell you what I would change let me know.
I barely play Rick during the Beta as I left the game during after pre season but I agree most of it, Reindog thing is just a status effect and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was for cutting down for making smaller characters models. Also one thing to point out as well for Rick Laser Gun he can’t hit Marvin with it unless Marvin is switching directions.
you’re insane bro, i’m tryna become a top tier rick, but i just can’t make plays like this. my actual engaging and dodging game is near perfect, but i don’t find myself hitting these 200 iq plays. how do you do it?
I bet time in the lab then just a bunch of practice in game. It's hard to "create" these big brain plays on the fly but it's easier to do them when the opportunity presents itself after you know it's possible and how to do it
Pressing side and special once will create the portal and teleport you, but pressing side and special button twice will just create the portal like the vid
You just have to tap it. You’re more than likely holding the input too long. That’s at least what I realized for me, and like the other guy said the timing is very strict
Alright these guys are right (kind of) but you have to hold and aim it for it to hit 100% of the time. If players are holding away it will hit with an instant click but if they do nothing/ hold in it will not teleport them. Learned this after a bunch of trial and error yesterday
Actually you have to knock them away then summon the portal then they fall into it and get teleported to you(try using his 3 hit jab attack then use the portal right after)

0:21 Didn't this Rick skin make him hold the gun with both hands? Besides changing the appearance of the weapon itself, I'm 99% sure
guess they changed it since then the hitboxes might be off

(Top 21 Rick in the beta here) its nice to see someone still wrecking with Rick. He got nerfed pretty badly because hes the "hard character"🤣
