    ATTENTION:
    Update 2: Effective from Dec 1, 2021 - DOGS ENTERING THE US FROM HIGH-RISK COUNTRIES
    For dogs vaccinated in the United States:
    Dogs over 6 months of age with valid US-issued rabies vaccination certificate and proof of microchip are exempt from the suspension-they can enter the United States without a permit. Dogs vaccinated outside the United States must have a CDC Dog Import Permit to enter the United States. To re-enter the United States, dogs with a US rabies vaccination certificate must
    - Appear healthy on arrival
    - Be at least 6 months old
    - Have a microchip with numbers listed on their rabies vaccination certificate
    - Provide proof of a valid US-issued rabies vaccination certificate upon arrival: The rabies vaccine must be administered by a US-licensed veterinarian in the United States on or after 12 weeks of age and at least 28 days before arrival if it is the dog’s first vaccination. It takes 28 days for the rabies vaccine to fully immunize and protect your dog. Booster rabies vaccines administered in the United States after 15 months of age are valid immediately.
    Note: Expired US-issued rabies vaccination certificates will not be accepted. If a US-issued rabies vaccination certificate has expired, dogs must have a CDC Dog Import Permit, if eligible.
    - Arrive at an approved port of entry
    Update 1 - Effective from Jul 14, 21
    NEW TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF DOGS ENTERING THE US FROM HIGH-RISK COUNTRIES EFFECTIVE FROM JUL 14, 21
    Find out if your country belongs to the list
    www.cdc.gov/importation/bringing-an-animal-into-the-united-states/high-risk.html
    “These countries and political units are considered high risk for importing dog rabies into the United States. Beginning July 14, 2021, there is a temporary suspension which prohibits the entry of dogs into the United States arriving from the countries listed below.
    On an extremely limited basis, CDC has the authority to issue advance written approval (CDC Dog Import Permit) to bring a dog from a high-risk country.
    If you wish to import a dog from a high-risk country, you must request advance written approval (CDC Dog Import Permit) from CDC by emailing CDCanimalimports@cdc.gov at least 30 business days (6 weeks) before you intend to enter the United States.
    No CDC Dog Import Permits are issued upon arrival. Dogs that arrive from high-risk countries without advance written approval from CDC will be denied entry and returned to the country of departure at the importer’s expense.”

    Aww it's such an excitement to see people bring their pets on the plane. It's way better than the babies who cry the entire flight hahah. I can imagine how difficult it must be to arrive at the airport 2-3 early before your flight. The look on Cece's eyes at 5:38 got me like 🥺 and I gotta tell you, by this angle, she looks like a lion. :'D I got a question regarding Cece's bathroom break. Do you flatten out the pampers in the carrier so she can pee? I'm quite curious on that one and I've always wanted to ask that since babies get their diapers changed in mini bathroom. Overall, it was a very helpful video. I enjoy watching as I always do ❤️

    Hi Cece Family, we are planning to bring our Pee-A-Poms to Cambodia via EVA Airline. By then, he would be 7 months old. Here are the questions: 1. Did your pet doing okay with high jet pressure to his/her ears (ear pain)? 2. How did you toilet a pet while you were in a airplane between 4-16 hours. 3. Is there a place somewhere at an airport that pet owner can take a pet for potty? Thanks so much for any advices!

    • @CeceFamily
      @CeceFamily  Год назад +1

      Hi!
      1. My dogs seem totally fine with the pressure. I mean they can't talk so it's kinda hard to know but they just sleep through the whole flight so I assume they must have felt comfortable enough to do so.
      2. There are 2 ways you can go about this (1)put on a diaper and also a pee pad inside the carrrier in case they go and you can change it after. The problem with it is that a lot of dogs won't go in their "living space" and it's obviously not good for their health to hold for 16 hours so there's a workaround that I usually use for my long flight between Asia and the US that I usually don't like to talk about because technically you're not allowed to do that lol but you gotta do what you gotta do so (2) I bring them inside the bathroom, spread the pee pad on the bathroom floor and use the potty cue for them to go on the pad, and then dispose the pad after they go so that the bathroom is completely intact and unaffected.
      3. In the US there's usually a place called a relief area (both before and after custom) in most of the airports that you can google "pet relief area + the airport name" to get more information
      I hope this helps!

    Thank you so much for such a helpful and informative video. If we’re flying internationally with two dogs who weigh under 10 lbs combined, do you suggest putting them in one carrier?

    • @CeceFamily
      @CeceFamily  2 года назад

      Thank you! ❤️ We definitely recommend putting them in 2 separate carriers as it’s gonna be much more comfortable for your dogs! Honestly ours weigh 7lbs each but the space is just enough for them to mostly lie down in a snuggly way. I believe it’s the airline requirement as well since they only allow 1 dog per person so they will want to make sure there’s only 1 per carrier! 😝

    We are flying with a dog (most likely maltipoo) from Korea to NY, in Korean Air. Are there any must need documents to bring for international flights? Thanks and great video!

    • @CeceFamily
      @CeceFamily  3 года назад

      Hi! I love maltipoo! ❤️ Usually for dogs entering NYC from outside of the US, below are the requirements according to NYC Department of Agriculture (You should check with your Korean Vet because usually they would be the one to know which form to fill out). In short, you would need a health certificate filled out by your vet, detailing all the vaccinations that your dog has taken, and that your dog is free of internal and external parasites, and proof of rabies vaccine for dogs over 3 months:
      "A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued 30 days or less prior to entry issued by your veterinarian. All information must be in English. The CVI should have the full New York destination address (no PO boxes) and should state that the examination revealed no clinical evidence of infectious or communicable disease, including external parasites and fungi, and that to the best of the veterinarian’s knowledge, the dog or cat has not recently been exposed to such infectious or communicable disease.
      A current rabies vaccination for animals 3 months of age and older. We accept the 1-year or 3-year vaccine. The rabies vaccine product name and date of vaccination must be recorded on the CVI."

    • @CeceFamily

      Personally we always go with Jetblue because of how easy it is to simply go to their website and reserve a spot for your Pom, and they don’t require a vet certificate like some other airlines do. We travel with our dog quite often and getting a certificate every single time can easily become a hassle 😅

    Hi there! When flying from Vietnam to US, did you have a layover in Korea? If so, do you also have to follow that country’s import guidelines since it’s just a connecting flight? Thank you!

    • @CeceFamily
      @CeceFamily  2 года назад

      Correct! You don’t need to follow Korea’s guidelines! Make sure your dog has a valid US rabies vaccine when flying from Vietnam though or else the process and paper is gonna be much more complicated.

    • @bowieandbambi
      @bowieandbambi 2 года назад

      @@CeceFamily thank you! Do I also need an export permit if I’m a US citizen visiting Vietnam and then returning to the US? I got this info from a pet travel service:
      LEAVING VIETNAM
      To export your pet from Vietnam, you need to contact a veterinarian to secure an exit permit.
      You will need to bring your passport, your pet's health certificate, and a valid rabies vaccination certificate identifying your pet. If the rabies vaccination is not current, your pet will be required to a rabies vaccination at least 15 days before departure.

    Hello. So I was wondering, how about when they want to do their business? Like how are will they be able to “use the toilet”?

    • @CeceFamily
      @CeceFamily  2 года назад

      Hi! Most of the airports in US always have a relief are before and after custom so we always let them do their business right before and after the flight if it’s a domestic one. For longer flight of up to 16 hours, of course small dogs can’t hold that long so what I usually do is I bring a potty pad inside the bathroom and let her go there and dispose the pad. You’re not supposed to let your dog out of the carrier at all let alone doing that but you gotta do what you gotta do since it’s not good for them to hold that long. You can also use a dog diaper too if your dog is ok doing their business inside their carrier and change the diaper every now and then. I hope this helps! ❤️

    Thanks for making this video! I found my dog (!) and now have to pick him up from the airport and fly with him home. He will be a 16 week puppy at that point. I'm nervous about how to reduce his anxiety when I'll be new to him and the experience of flying will be new to him as well. Any tips that you have on how you trained Cece to be comfortable in her carrier? Or how you've handled bathroom breaks for Cece in airports?
    Impressed that you've gone international with her! I'm hopeful I can also take my dog on trips further distances too (eventually)

    • @CeceFamily
      @CeceFamily  3 года назад +1

      Wow congratulations! That sounds so exciting! ❤️
      I'd assume since he's a puppy, he has no previous training? If so I think it's best to just let nature plays it course as there's nothing much we can do right on the day.
      If he's whining or seems distressed, you can pet him and calm him down a bit, or give him some treats so he can begin associate the experience with something positive. Most US Airlines are actually pretty lax when it comes to pets. I have actually seen people walking their dogs until right before boarding the plane, and you can often leave the top mesh of the carrier open during the flight (international flights are usually stricter though).
      For bathroom breaks, since Cece is potty trained already, I'll usually bring her to the bathroom, lay the potty pad out, and tell her to go potty there. For your case, I think it's best to just lay the potty pad inside the carrier, and bring a few more to change if needed. It's probably gonna be a short domestic flight right so I think he'll be fine.
      On the side note, I've noticed that you mention he'll be 16 months old by that time. If so, make sure that the breeder socializes him well with other dogs, strangers, kids, and different kind of noises because between 3 weeks to 12/14 weeks is their critical socialization period. This period will greatly shape how your dog will turn out/and how well-socialized he is.
      I'm so excited for you to finally find a puppy. Best of luck with your flight!

      @@CeceFamily Thank you!! Thank you for your reply and the vidoes :) so helpful and interesting to watch.
      Yes, that's true. I will definitely bring treats and pee pads. It is good to know you've had a pretty lax experience- wasn't sure what to expect and this was a helpful walkthrough. I'll be sure to communicate with the breeder on socialization for noises during that period of time and people so that he'll be more apt to adjust when we're together. Thank you for your kind words and advice!!

      Hi Xinyi, this is the requirements for entering NY from other states
      “The requirements for importing dogs and cats into New York State from another state within the United States are:
      A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued 30 days or less prior to entry.
      New York accepts the VS 7001 form, but we prefer and strongly encourage the use of electronic CVIs. The CVI should have the New York destination address and state that the examination revealed no clinical evidence of infectious or communicable disease, including external parasites and fungi, and that to the best of the veterinarian’s knowledge, the dog or cat has not recently been exposed to such infectious or communicable disease.
      A CVI is not required if:
      - The animal is staying in New York for less than 30 days.
      - The animal is entering for exhibition.
      - The dog is a New York resident with proof of current dog license, rabies vaccination, and is returning from out-of-state travel within one year.
      A current Rabies vaccination for animals 3 months of age and older. We accept the 1-year or 3-year vaccine. The rabies vaccine product name and date of vaccination must be recorded on the CVI.”

      If you want to fly both of them in cabin with you, usually you need another person to register the 2nd pet under their ticket because their carrier is gonna be under your seat so I believe they won’t allow 2 if you’re just flying by yourself. Hope this helps! ❤️

      Awesome question! To be honest, we never know because Cece was inside her carrier under the seat in front of me so we couldn't see her lol. She never whined or seemed distressed or anything like that. Even though dogs can't communicate with us how their ears feel, I'd imagine that it will be slightly uncomfortable for their ears just like us though :D

    hi what about vaccines for domestic flights? do they ask for proof of vaccination at the airport for domestic flights? thank you.

    • @CeceFamily
      @CeceFamily  3 года назад +1

      Theoretically speaking, most of the states require at least proof of rabies vaccination to enter if the dog is 3 months or older. In reality though, they rarely ask for it. I’ve travelled so many times and have not onced been asked to show any proof. However, I still strongly suggest checking the requirements of the specific state you’re travelling to and bringing the proof of vaccination with you just in case they ask. I hope this helps and best of luck for your upcoming flight with your pet! 💕

      @@jamie615 Ohhh I see! Which airlines will you be flying with? We've always gone with Jetblue since it's so easy to reserve a spot for your pet online on their website, and it's super easy to reach out to their customer service consultants via social media instead of waiting hours on the line. In your case, I think your best bet would be to go to the counter on the flight day, and just casually show your ticket and mention that you bring a pup and don't mention vaccine or anything unless being asked. Most of the time they will just give you a tag to put on your pup carrier and you're free to go (I can only speak for my Jetblue experience though). I've flown to Florida twice without anyone asking so I hope that's the case for you too!

      You have great attention to details! 💕 I mentioned in one of my videos that Cece’s hair in the back couldn’t grow back to normal after I shaved her to treat her skin allergy. Her fur in that part will look like that if i haven’t brushed her for a day 😂 I know it looks like it’s matted but it’s actually not and can be really easily brushed out. Btw, you should see Cece just 1 hour after taking a bath and being freshly groomed in our “day in the life of a Pomeranian video” 🤣🤣 - her fur is really high maintenance 🐶

    Never again will I fly on any airline where you need to place your small dog in a carry-on bag under the seat in front for the entire flight. That is just CRUEL. Did that with my 2nd dog years ago. And will not do that to my current dog (3rd) should I choose to fly with him. There ARE airlines that allow dogs to lay on the floor or sit next to us. If I know I'm flying where the airlines used won't allow that I'd rather leave my dog at home at a good kennel. And NEVER would I consider putting a dog in a crate to be placed in the belly of a plane. Dogs have died flying that way for some reason (never knew why...lack of oxygen? Can't be or the airline wouldn't allow dogs in the cargo section. Just fear? Loud sound? Being alone? ).
