+FuschiA it's really nice The only complaint I have with it is my hands are pretty in-between, not too big, not too small. So the DPI shift button CONSTANTLY gets hit by accident. I had to disable it because it was becoming a nuisance. Other than that, I love it. I set the lighting to magenta to Match my setup, it looks awesome
Hello BRo Sweet as man, yeah I'm gonna try it out before I buy it. I'm using the Razer Orochi and it's tiny as, not so great and when it came out I paid like 90 for it (Australian dollars) worst regret. But this mouse seems perfect. :D
I was looking for mice at Best Buy with my mom and this is what happened: Me- (looking at 502) I really like this one. Mom- That doesn't look very comfortable Mom- (tries the display model out) Mom- Well never mind.
I literally came to this comment section to put a timestamp on when he changed his shirt and also attempt to make a straight out of the box joke. Well played people above me.
Guys I have this mouse and what Linus says about the scroll wheel is completely wrong. I have never slipped in my entire usage of it and it is an amazing mouse.
When i first bought this G502 my initial reaction was that the scroll wheel would be slippery. Now that I have a few weeks of use on it, i have had 0 slipping issues.
+Infinite Zero it isn't one if you look around. I picked up a Naga only to have it crap out in 2 months with disconnecting issues, then against everyone's judgements and advice I ordered 2 more, one as a gift for my brother, thinking I just got unlucky the first time only to have both of them end up the same way. After a little research into the problem, any twist in the cord fries the wires, that everyone and their grandmother seemed to be having I went Logitech and never looked back.
Additional comment...Why are there so many "Is this mouse good for (insert game name here)"? It's a mouse, guys. Unless you're playing WoW or something that works best with 15+ buttons, each assigned to their own action, a mouse isn't "best" with any specific game...especially not an FPS (I say that because that style of games seem to be the most asked about). Buying a certain mouse isn't going to mean you automatically kick everyone's ass. You can play an FPS with a crappy mouse, and (as long as it works) kick everyone's ass if you are good at the game. Hardware isn't a free pass to victory.
Honestly, I'm all about functionality. Judging the mouse by all of his complaints, I believe thus is perfect. And let's be honest: there isn't many people who stare at their mouse while playing a game.
+The1Pumpkin They even fixed the light now. A few months ago they anounced the G502 Proteus Spectrum which is this exact mouse but with RGB lights! It's also the same price as the G502 Proteus Core.
RUclips now just allows in-video-ads only if they're affiliated with the video content. So RUclipsrs like LTT which relied on unaffiliated ad topics within a video now search for ways on how to get the ads affiliated with the video. Not to find ads which fit the video content - they fit the content to the ads...
My husband follows you and loves your channel, all he knows about computers learnt it from you. I'll follow you too! xD PS: He watches your channel even when we're having breakfast ._.
It took me a hell of a while to get used to this mouse when i first bought it, after that I just couldn't play without it, to the point where I literally travel with this mouse now. This is definitely still the mouse for me despite all the new gaming mice popping up these past few months.
I know it's a minor thing, but could you please have the next person to be the hand model for the mouse have cleaner fingernails? If I'm going to watch in HD and see it close up... I'd prefer not something kind of icky. Sorry.
Im having an issue where mouse 1 is way too sensitive, is it like this for all mice or just mine and its broken? Like if i hit my mouse up and down on my desk gently it triggers mouse 1/2.
Oh, wow, I have a G300s lol I was looking at this mouse and wanted to know how it compared to it. Can you give me any clue as to what I should expect, or how much of an upgrade it is?
StarkShark Plays Well first of all it's A LOT more comfortable than the 300s. Also the two thumb buttons are so handy for web browsing (I have them mapped to forward and backwards) and also for gaming (I usually have them mapped to melee and reload or another action depending on the game). It also seems to track better. There is a listing on ebay for $50 from the seller superdealunlimited. Me and my brother both bought one from this seller and they were both in great condition and came with the interchangeable weights and everything. Keep in mind these are not brand new, they are factory refurbished, but honestly they feel brand new. If you want to upgrade your mouse the G502 is a great mouse, especially when you can get it for $50.
HighFructoseFun AWESOME, thanks man! :) I got my 300s as a gift from my brother, so I'll see if I can wear it down or something so I don't seem like an ass for just ditching his gift lol Thanks a ton ^^ I'll keep that eBay listing in mind
holy. A mouse shuld be able to messure the distance the mouse (and your hand) has traveled. Would be awsome to see how far my hand has moved in a month :)
Well I have a Roccat Tyon and it does exactly that! I have moved my mouse 20m so far! It also measures how many times you click it! It is a fantastic mouse and I definitely recommend it!
Linus I love you I really do, but please, please, never wear a checkered shirt like that ever again. When it lines up with the pixels in my screen it looks awful and makes me kinda sick. Thanks.
I came here specifically wanting to know whether you could change bindings for scroll up and scroll down being like "linus will say" and you actually did so my day is made. Thanks for being the best damn reviewer on the internet.
Got this about two years ago and i can i am not dissapointed. Its the best mouse i've ever had and i can see myself using it for at least another 4 years.
I’ve had this mouse for a while now and I must admit, this mouse is great, it has an amazing grip on the side and I love the features. My favorite features are the shift and the changeable spin mode.
why would you note the time, pause the video, say what time you're at, and then ask that question? for some random people on youtube to think you're observant?
i own this particular mouse and i think its good quality, fast reaction, fully configurable, precise, no acceleration adjustable waits etc. etc. does a good job making up for the cost
+Strattton these guys probably got the g402 it looks almost identical but this is the g502. but yes you can map the wheel to do anything you want in games. the guy in the video just saw you couldn't map the wheel in the programming and assumed you couldn't at all. i think the only difference between the two aside from the price is a couple extra buttons and the optical sensor is different. but the design is almost the exact same minus the textured grips on the side. and the g502 has the weights you can change around in the bottom. which dont do much but make the mouse heavier but i think it feels nice.
Are those buttons that you were using to change the mouse sensitivity up and down re-programmable? I'm not looking to use this mouse as a gaming mouse, so I don't need the ability to change the sensitivity on the fly..
I've owned a Deathadder 2013 for 11 months before it broke. I don't mean broke like completely broken, but just 2 days ago, it's been having the infamous "double click" problem for mice. Basically what this is is that when I click once, it does a double click instead of a single click. This problem is enough to make people go insane srsly. The main game I play is league, and it isn't an issue there but in FPS it's really annoying to fire 2 bullets instead of 1 on a semi auto weapon cos of this problem now OBVIOUSLY this doesn't happen to every Deathadder, but I've read that Razer products have a higher chance of breaking than other companies. Now, that doesn't mean your deathadder will fuck up like mine did in less than a year, but it still makes me pretty mad that I paid $80 for a mouse that "breaks" in just 11 months. I've been searching for fixes to this problem and I found three potential solutions but if they do not work, I am strongly considering getting this Logitech mouse.
Thanks man, I returned my deathadder for a while and been using this mouse for about a couple days now and I really like it. The only complaint I have about my g502 is that the cable is a little loose and I'm not sure if I have a defective product, but I might go and exchange it to see if that's the case. If you don't mind me asking what mouse do you have now?
EsquizoLOL i have heard better things about the durabilty of logitech products so i would have to say go for logitech i got a razer tipan and it broke after a little over a year
both, logitech and razer have very good products, thats why the prices are too highs, thats not only mark. One thing that worries me are the right and left buttons, they are very similar to the Natec Genesis GX77 and I had problems with the feft button of this. (Double click on.. around 4 months of use)
Linus, you are hands down the best presenter I have ever seen on the interweb. I love listening to the way you deliver information. You should expand your horizons!
You should try the G602, also by Logitech. Amazing wireless mouse that I currently use and have yet to find any reason at all to buy a different mouse whatsoever and I play all kinds of games, from the simple left/right click of Dota to the complicated macros of an mmo. The mouse felt a bit heavy until I realized you can use only one battery and it lasts very very long even with just one.
madestro Yeah I am looking for the g602 but I'm not sure about the "layout design" per say.. I mean this g502 looks much more ergonomic and alike my current deathadder. But may I ask you, the g602 has auto profile switching? And if it has how is the lag when switching between windows of different applications?
vl199 Can't really say if it's more ergonomic or not because I haven't held the 502. As for profile switching, yes it has it and is usually instant. It uses the same software that this one has minus probably that surface optimizer. I haven't noticed any lag while switching from games to windows and profiles seems to change very fast even when you only alt-tab.
My Logitech G5 lasted for years and I was gutted when it finally died. After *less* than a year of use my Roccat Nyth's left click microswitch began to malfunction (Double and triple clicking, failing to click and drag) and they wouldn't replace it, so I've replaced it with a G502. Thanks for the review. It was helpful in making my decision. 3 year warranty too!
I would say that this is one of the best game mouse ever made. As of 2020 it's still a strong sell. That's pretty incredible. Very few electronic device can boast a 6 year life span.
If this was real this sentence should be: Hi lolololololololololololloollol I am a super pro 3 year old minecraft (da best game in da world) pvper. Will I be able to rekt noobs more with dis mouse?
I use 11 buttons in games like Battlefield. Left click, right click, scroll up, scroll down and DPI shift the standard way Scroll wheel right : adjust scope/take on/off gasmask Scroll wheel left : adjust fire rate DPI up : throw grenade DPI down : Prone Forward : Switch between crouch and stand Back : Melee
Linus: no rgb backlighting
Logitech: PROTEUS SPECTRUM
Look at the date........ Spectrum wasn't even a mouse back then. Common sense man.
The spectrum came out in CES 2016
And I was lucky enough to get one early :D
It's awesome
Hello BRo I'm tempted to buy it :)
+FuschiA it's really nice
The only complaint I have with it is my hands are pretty in-between, not too big, not too small. So the DPI shift button CONSTANTLY gets hit by accident. I had to disable it because it was becoming a nuisance.
Other than that, I love it. I set the lighting to magenta to Match my setup, it looks awesome
Hello BRo
Sweet as man, yeah I'm gonna try it out before I buy it. I'm using the Razer Orochi and it's tiny as, not so great and when it came out I paid like 90 for it (Australian dollars) worst regret. But this mouse seems perfect. :D
3:21 well used? i say it's more like Battle-Scarred
xSmileyPlays Lmao
Niko Lindroos heck no it's just BADLY USED
Nah that's definitely torture.

Niko Lindroos it went through many years of war, had its baby and named it Logitech g502
Well, now it has RGB LEDs. So theres one of your complaints down
I dropped mine and now only the blue led works lmao
I was looking for mice at Best Buy with my mom and this is what happened:
Me- (looking at 502) I really like this one.
Mom- That doesn't look very comfortable
Mom- (tries the display model out)
Mom- Well never mind.
Cyortonic :) did u get it
It’s not mice, it’s Mouses. The animal mouse is mice. The computer mouse is Mouses.
Electrical Tapeworm oooooooooohhhhhhhhhh, I’m the one who brings the fun ;)
Electrical Tapeworm, You can run, BUT YOU CANT HIDE!!
I remember a friend of mine said it looks painful. The mouse looks cool af
Really subtle clothing change Linus.

Woah I didn't noticed that
I literally came to this comment section to put a timestamp on when he changed his shirt and also attempt to make a straight out of the box joke. Well played people above me.

Guys I have this mouse and what Linus says about the scroll wheel is completely wrong. I have never slipped in my entire usage of it and it is an amazing mouse.
I agree. Bought it today and I don't think it's an issue unless you have SUPER dry hands.
yeah it doesnt slip a bit.
Speaking of dry hands, it looks like Linus need lotion. His cuticles are atrocious.
When i first bought this G502 my initial reaction was that the scroll wheel would be slippery. Now that I have a few weeks of use on it, i have had 0 slipping issues.
It would still be nice to have some grip on it, though
Just got the RGB version of this beauty. It feels wonderful guys.
are they the exact same but its just rgb?
+Daniel Revollo yep dude I also have it is awesome
+Daniel Revollo yes
Just go it too :D
It's good to be master race.
Never getting a razer mouse again, i might pick this up
+Tys Dasd I made that change, and I'm loving it. The g502 is 1000% more accurate than my old razer taipan.
Lol i got g502 now i love it
***** Ahah i bought this mouse a week after i posted that
+Jeyronicate Woo one bad experience equals company boycott yay...

3:22 Oh god, kill it with fire!
lol
Holy shit you're right!
raptor6600gt omg its gross
It was already...
noo leave it alone! In 500 years they can clone us a new Linus from that precious material.
Additional comment...Why are there so many "Is this mouse good for (insert game name here)"?

+Ryan John “MizZukI” Ramos well said indeed
***** well said, everyone.
hahahaha
+The Metal One It's a mouse
so in FPS, the sensor makes a BIG difference
+The Metal One Well Assumptioned!
Honestly, I'm all about functionality. Judging the mouse by all of his complaints, I believe thus is perfect. And let's be honest: there isn't many people who stare at their mouse while playing a game.

+The1Pumpkin Just remember one thing- G502 has the world's most accurate optical sensor for FPS game.
Lol. You just took that shirt out of a pack.
Mr. Q - iLoveQatar.net i
lol its full of starch
Why are Linus' shirts changing every scene?
Storm Lord ohh

Can't wait to buy this... It'll be my first actual gaming mouse.
Same, once I upgrade hardware and monitor this is first on the list!
Sam's Pets Once I get an actual good power supply over 500w, I'll get this!
bestiebest I got a 550w power supply, hope that's enough to accommodate gaming peripherals and some high(ish) end hardware.
Sam's Pets I'm going 1000w modular all the way.
And it will be your last. I have it, it is a perfect mouse.
Why is your commentary so perfect ?
because he is perfect
My husband follows you and loves your channel, all he knows about computers learnt it from you.
I'll follow you too! xD
PS: He watches your channel even when we're having breakfast ._.
1:46 boi if you're gonna pull a quick one on us at least make sure its ironed lmao
duuuuuuuuuude that shirt made my vid quality DROP!
when he changed the shirt my immediate thought was that needs to be ironed
It took me a hell of a while to get used to this mouse when i first bought it, after that I just couldn't play without it, to the point where I literally travel with this mouse now. This is definitely still the mouse for me despite all the new gaming mice popping up these past few months.
'oh, yeah... his is a pretty standard vide-SHIRT CHANGE!!!'
Brand new shirt needed ironing, Linus. Need a new staff member for that?
Almost 4 years now and my Proteus Core still feels and performs like new. I'm pretty impressed :D
Almost 4 years more, and my Proteus Core still performs! Now that is impressive.
6 years later and I still have it, i changed it for the rgb one like 3 years ago but this still a beautiful mouse.
I know it's a minor thing, but could you please have the next person to be the hand model for the mouse have cleaner fingernails? If I'm going to watch in HD and see it close up... I'd prefer not something kind of icky. Sorry.
lol for fuck sake
wtf...
Grow a pair and shut up
Pretty sure everyone's fingers look like that in Canada. It's the cold.
I feel embarrassed for you. That is the stupidest comment I've seen for awhile.
$80 mouse? here in australia its $52 and some shops are $70-$80. i thought usa was cheaper
I just bought one off ebay (aus) and paid 65AUD
i get my from MSY. there only $52 there. MSY are really reliable and they have lots of stores around au
Linus is from Canada, so it's probably around $60 in the USA.
its nice to see us not getting screwed for a change
things are on the up maybe!!
sweet man. I love this channel. who needs amazon reviews when we have you. keep it up brotha
1:42 Damnit...I spilled coffee all over may shirt. Just give me that new one out of the package.
Im having an issue where mouse 1 is way too sensitive, is it like this for all mice or just mine and its broken? Like if i hit my mouse up and down on my desk gently it triggers mouse 1/2.
great question
"The Satifying feeling Of Squishing A Live Mouse In Your Hand"
did u guys notice him change clothes
yes
no lol
totally
Dude could have washed it or ironed it, it is clearly brand new.
TheRayquaza TWICE!!
1:41 Did anyone see him get changed?! That was incredible!
If an LED was bothering me that much, I would just open it up and change it. It's really not a big deal, I've done it once already.
Good for you, bud.
I'd say the same, after you do it a couple times, it's fairly simple
It's not up to the consumer to open up the mouse and turn off the LED. There should be an option to turn it off, plain and simple.
A Console Peasant That's true, would much rather have the option but it's nice to promote the PC modding spirit
I just got this mouse for $50 and I love it so much. Switching from a G300s to the G502 is a huge difference and I'm really happy I switched
Oh, wow, I have a G300s lol
I was looking at this mouse and wanted to know how it compared to it.
:) I got my 300s as a gift from my brother, so I'll see if I can wear it down or something so I don't seem like an ass for just ditching his gift lol
Thanks a ton ^^ I'll keep that eBay listing in mind
+Hive5000 everyone has their own opinions haha :) I just happen to really like it
Just switched from the Performance Mouse MX and I like it a whole lot more. More buttons for a customization gaming experience.
If you download Razer Synapse it will tell you just that, as well as which buttons are most clicked and more info.
Had to get a new mouse so i got roccat kone and it does it to :D Im now at 2103m :) 79250 clicks :)
I’m here from 2020 to say that Linus should have grown a beard years ago.
Oh, I also really love my G502 Hero.
I just got one today, hopefully it will give me better response time in minesweeper and visual novels.
Linus I love you I really do, but please, please, never wear a checkered shirt like that ever again. When it lines up with the pixels in my screen it looks awful and makes me kinda sick. Thanks.
I would like to second this request. Pleased and thank you.
yeah, there is a reason why they don't wear those on tv :)
Imagine if he had of ironed it =P
Agreed. Completely. Like that comment so Linus will see it. NOT THIS ONE, *THAT ONE ^^^*
we should sign a petition. linus sebastian pc release. uh, I mean no checkered shirts for linus infront of the cam.
i love the seamless shirt change. Plus, im a g502 advocate from the start so thank you :) love your content in general.
The first ten seconds made me question his sexuality..
The timestamp in the thumbnail made the words say "A Worthy Succ"
Auramyst [Luke] Calm down it's a spicy meme
Precisely
AHHHHH THAT SHIRT!!!!!!
That shirt is serious!
its like a taser but for your eyes!!! XD
I came here specifically wanting to know whether you could change bindings for scroll up and scroll down being like "linus will say" and you actually did so my day is made. Thanks for being the best damn reviewer on the internet.
Is the mousewheel supposed to jitter like this when I move the mouse? It's really quite annoying.
Yeah, just bought mine and it rattles, more so when it's unlocked to speed wheel
Same it's super annoying.
I'm thinking of a thing peice of plastic on either side of the wheel to dampen it.
Just realised that the wobble is because of the side wheel buttons. FML
I love this white and gold mouse, it's my favourite.
bestiebest Lol, that trend was never was bullshit
Wat
You're about 3 years too late
Bebx I am seeing this a year later and chicken nuggets rule the world
Linus do an unboxing of the EVGA Pro SLI Bridges!
Watching this, and playing with my G502 at the same time. I absolutely love this mouse. It is by far the best out there in my opinion.
He called my 2013 Deathadder Bloody... Next time get someone with clean finger nails, it was disgusting. Sorry.
Sorry! I wasn't prepared to be a hand model!
Deathadder 2013 still the best mouse out there!
93Absolut your personal opinion.
93Absolut Your opinion, i think the R.A.T. series is way better
I have the deathadder as well. best mouse I have used so far.
G502 Proteus Core, G502 Proteus Spectrum, G502 Hero the best mice in my opinion.
lightspeed as well
Please don't wear that checkered shirt again because I thought my eyeballs were going to melt out of their eye sockets.
I'm still using the Logitech G502 to this day (2019)

Got this about two years ago and i can i am not dissapointed. Its the best mouse i've ever had and i can see myself using it for at least another 4 years.
i'm betting that you don't want your wife to see this one linus =P
ughhh dude there is no excuse for not cleaning the G9x, you can remove the shell and throw it in the dishwasher.
A mouse to replace the G9/G9x? That is a pretty big call.
I’ve had this mouse for a while now and I must admit, this mouse is great, it has an amazing grip on the side and I love the features. My favorite features are the shift and the changeable spin mode.
DAT SHIRT!
DEM SHIRTS*
I bought this as my first "pro mouse"... God damn, it's great (logically, i bought the G502 Spectrum, that allows RGB Light).
Yeh m8 I play MC on my 16 inch monitor at 12,000 dpi....

+denno021 Yes.
SalterEA, ok thank u so much, I’m looking at this thing in 2018 seeing if I should buy it and that was my ONE HUGE question so thank you :)
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed how considerable the wired cable drag is, I thought it was just a thing for wired mice in general.
Hey linus, could you review the Logitech G902 (Orion Spark) RGB Mechanical Keyboard please?
Pretty sure it's called the G910, not the G902. In case anyone was wondering/confused.
Oh yeah, sorry about that. I meant the G910.
hes going to.
thomas walsh Yeah, I saw that he had got it from his Facebook and Instagram photos...
armyking222 me too.
how does this compare to the deathadder 2013, I just bought the deathadder should I return it and get the g502?
I've owned a Deathadder 2013 for 11 months before it broke. I don't mean broke like completely broken, but just 2 days ago, it's been having the infamous "double click" problem for mice.
Basically what this is is that when I click once, it does a double click instead of a single click. This problem is enough to make people go insane srsly. The main game I play is league, and it isn't an issue there but in FPS it's really annoying to fire 2 bullets instead of 1 on a semi auto weapon cos of this problem
now OBVIOUSLY this doesn't happen to every Deathadder, but I've read that Razer products have a higher chance of breaking than other companies.
I want a new mouse and I'm considering the deathadder and the g502, so Im expecting you.:)
I like it, but dont like how my pinky drags on the mat.
Linus, you are hands down the best presenter I have ever seen on the interweb. I love listening to the way you deliver information. You should expand your horizons!
Linus has flakey mouse: replace
I have a 2$ mouse with no top and exposed internals: keep
Just got mine, ITS SO GOOD BUY IT!!!!
Nobody is commenting on the mouse pad at 6:30? Linus how old are your viewers?
I use this mouse all the time, love using after effects and premiere with it!
Only if this mouse was wireless... I would buy it for sure.
that would defeat the purpose of the crazy sensor accuracy
Dick scrotum Don't think so, look @ RAT9, it is wireless and is super accurate
What a snazzy shirt
how about both...
Greg Akopyan trick answer, he had over three shirts on (i think..)
Phhh... Who uses an anchor, just use masking tape
My cat just sleeps on my cable

I use blu tack

My Logitech G5 lasted for years and I was gutted when it finally died.
After *less* than a year of use my Roccat Nyth's left click microswitch began to malfunction (Double and triple clicking, failing to click and drag) and they wouldn't replace it, so I've replaced it with a G502. Thanks for the review. It was helpful in making my decision.
3 year warranty too!
g502 or m65 ?
x_Madz G502
x_Madz g502, especially for fps games.
x_Madz exactly my dilemma
I think the m65 looks nicer and I like the sniper button is cool
but the G502 is probably better performing
ok i will buy G502
thanks all
x_Madz just got mine today, I LOVE IT. it is my favorite mouse ive ever used. very acurate and i much prefer this over the razer deathadder and m65
HA my pc is blue. this fits perfectly

I would say that this is one of the best game mouse ever made.
As of 2020 it's still a strong sell. That's pretty incredible. Very few electronic device can boast a 6 year life span.
My eyes, that shirt.

Mine's black and red, we must be enemies.
Mine's white and black. My desk, on the other hand... green, white, red, blue, black. Not organised at all.
Beta Zerker I am ocd as hell.
I will mod things just so they match, I put a red led on a razer nostromo/belkin n52

you're not fooling anyone saying gamers need 11 buttons
I use 11 buttons when I'm not gaming.
they do come handy games like OW and Wow
Good O'l Bob i do use all of them.....throwing grenades, flashbang, reload, etc
I use 11 buttons in games like Battlefield.
Left click, right click, scroll up, scroll down and DPI shift the standard way
Scroll wheel right : adjust scope/take on/off gasmask
Scroll wheel left : adjust fire rate
DPI up : throw grenade
DPI down : Prone
Forward : Switch between crouch and stand
Back : Melee
MGsubbie i can tell you're shit at battle field
