Ticabus only travels through Managua and possibly Granada to our knowledge. There is a bus from Bluefields to Managua, we aren't sure where it goes from though in Managua.

      Yes, both Nicaragua and Costa Rica are very safe to travel through. We have travelled by public bus in both countries and have felt very safe. The only question right now would be covid safety. You must wear masks on all public transport here in Costa Rica, however it is more hit and miss in Nicaragua.

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  3 года назад +1

      Hey guys, you should be fine in most places. For Costa Rica, you just need to fill in that online health pass and you are done. Nicaragua is a bit trickier as you need a negative PCR test to enter AND leave via plane. Not sure about other Central American countries at this time. If you want to visit both Costa Rica and Nicaragua, we recommend you fly in and out of Costa Rica (Liberia is closest to Nicaragua) and cross the land border into Nicaragua. That is the easist approach and many people are doing this way.

    have your backpacks ever been weighted at the airports during your travels? I'm worried that 7 kg limit for cabin luggage is really small and can't take much gear if travelling only with a backpack, how do you do it?

    • @BucketListTravellers
      @BucketListTravellers  3 года назад

      Hey Robert, funnily enough we haven't flown since early January 2020! That said, our bags were both under 7kg and one of our tricks is to wear a LOT of clothes if we breach that limit! It is really liberating to only fly with 7kg of luggage. We still managed to have 4-5 shirts, undies, socks, 2 pairs of shorts. We have since bought 2 laptops, so our next flight is going to be interesting...
