Yes Ren and Sam and Josh and Kai (on bass) are all great friends and they have his back but note that on his videos he is almost always the director. He chooses locations, he plans out the shoot, he is involved in every aspect of the shoot.
I just watched Jungle perform this at the Brit Awards and was great, and fantastic dancers that also did a video of their dance routine to Back on 74 that was awesome! Ren did a great job of 74 and was just a tad slower and he blended it in with Message in a bottle. How cool is this?!!!♥
Personally I found Ren makes it sound like an older classic. The original sounds more modern, with a slight 80's twist. Whereas Ren's version sounds like it's from the 60's.

The location is Bar Valentino--1920's styled bar in Brighton. The backup singers (Sylvia Mwenze & Kai Lacey) and guitarist (Kai ...) are long time friends and musical collaborators. Not sure who is on camera but someone will tell us. Ren is both genius and amazing.

Ren's attention to detail is just one more thing that blows my mind. I wasn't familiar with Jungle so watched videos. I saw graceful dancers & there was random framed art in the background. Back to Ren, I see women making very "dancey" moves in front of framed art. He's just amazing.

Him and Sam (his cameraman) have done a pilot for Netflix that they want to do, which is similar to black mirror but music related. That's him ultimate goal. Selfishly, I hope he keeps creating music ❤
As far as I know, Ren/Sam/Connor don't have a deal or an official pilot in the works yet, but they are considering their recent and current work (especially things like the Tales and Money Game 1 & 3, etc) as "audition material" to show the powers-that-be at Netflix what they could do with the freedom to create musical stories, and a little bit of budget. I wondered at the time if the Murderer (live acoustic) shoot in Los Angeles last year was something similar. I know he was primarily talking to music companies during that visit, to make sure the independent Sick Boi release got properly credited for album sales and Spotify streams etc (to qualify for the charts alongside the major label releases). So I have no idea if they might have talked to Netflix during the visit as well, but I imagined Ren saying to them, "we'll be in L.A. for one day; with $1,000 and a place to get some audio equipment, we'll shoot a video, edit it and mix it, then drop it on RUclips four days later, and let you see how many views we can rack up in a week...." 😄 (Renegades, please don't repeat this as fact -- it's just my little daydream/fantasy of how things could work out for Ren!)

Filmed in Bar Valentino, a pub in Brighton between Xmas and New Year, they only had one day until 3:00 pm to do the shoot as the bar had to open at 5:00. Samuel Perry-Falvey (Sam) is an ace on lighting and did the filming. In the BTS there is a scene where Ren is sitting on a couch working the lyrics - with a drip in his arm. Not many realise that he is still having ongoing treatment to restore his stuffed up immune system. He is truly a legend with legendary friends.
