As someone who had no demon OC as a kid but has acquired one very recently (in their late twenties), along with a whole bag of non-demon ones, this comment makes me feel less inadequate, thank you.
Demons just provide fun colour scheme opportunities, I dunno (though if I really learned to colour I could just slap purples and reds and blues on everyone)

@@dasimations5780 But don't forget to watch 2003's one, it isn't as accurate (around 2/3ds it goes fully "non-canon") but some themes are developed better there.
when I was thirteen I was drawing things similar to Nathan, I was influenced by shows like Teen Titans and Ben 10. So i always thought angular sharp edges and big eyes were cool. I would often spend like 10 minutes drawing some superhero or ninja like character and then spending hours creating their entire backstory that would be the length of a novel haha. I still have some of those old drawings and its always fun to look back and see how much I've improved as well as how much I am the exact same XD.

I think my first OC was "ugly donkey" it was literally the most hideous thing i could consistently replicate so I put it everywhere. Imagine seeing a donkey with cartoonishly supermassive, veiny eyes staring at you straight on, in such a way you can see every. single. tooth. I was so proud.
My favourite episodes of Drawfee tend to be ones where it's super-obvious that everyone is really enjoying themselves, and this is one I will revisit over and over again. Nathan's laugh at 16:15 gives me life.

Julia mentioning she found her best friend through art reminded me of my situation. I never drew myself, but in the 7th grade, I made my first friend group and drew all of them. I then gifted the drawings. My now best friend still has hers. It was super sweet when I found out she kept it. I would draw her little jokes all the time based on our interests. I think she still has a big stack of them somewhere. I once again almost lost it when I saw she didn't throw them out. I was such a shy kid, but I for the first time, forced myself into conversations. If I didn't do that, I may have never been her friend. She literally helped me shower last week because I had major surgery and couldn't lift my arms. That's it, I'm texting her to tell her how much I love her.
