    I wouldn't promise this *can't* flood just sea rise won't be a risk. Look at Vermont last year. A year or two back in my area of the Mid Atlantic there was downburst covering several square miles of hilly elevation that saw over two inches of rain in under and hour. The river road 400 ft below is known and expected to flood but there were roads near the highest hilltops covered in rushing water sweeping away cars and motorcyclists. Little streams feeding little culverts people living on those streets hardly knew were there became white water rapids knee deep across roadways. If you take climate change seriously be aware of your low spots and steer clear of them.

      Hello, we purchased a small 2 acre lot on a lake in Lincoln, it's down a 3 mile dirt road, off grid...do you have a website or youtube channel? Nevermind, i found you, yaaa! Thank you.

    • @vrgcustomcarpentry

      @@lovinwildlife2150 yeah most of the off-grid stuff I've done isn't actually on my channel. I lived on an island for the first thirty-eight Summers of my life and about eight Winters as well, it was about as off-grid as you can get we needed to handle material at least 11 times to get it to where it was going before you even got to cut it....
      I'm a registered home improvement contractor in Massachusetts but I will gladly pull whatever licenses necessary to build wherever I end up doing projects....
      If you can't find someone local to build it I'd be very interested in a project like that.

    Nice property Rick. How'd your apple do this year? The late May frost did a number on our apple and acorn crops here except the higher elevations.

    • @richardtheriault7624

      My apple crop was exceptional this year. The only tree that suffered from a late freeze was my peach tree. I had no peaches this year.

    I love this property, its exactly what I'm looking for! Could you point me in the right direction for finance options, or is the seller willing to owner finance?

    • @richardtheriault7624
      @richardtheriault7624 11 месяцев назад +1

      Machias Savings Bank, Katahdin Trust are a couple of options. There is no owner financing

    Almost 40 years since logging and the tress have barely grown, there all skinny

    • @travelfeet

      I had the same thought. I don't know much about forestry, but a 35 year old tree should be bigger than 4 inches. Shows how hard it is for a clear cut forest to recover perhaps. if they had kept a few acres clear for food lots and/or views, the property might be worth more now.

      The reason it is growing back slowly, is it hasn't been thinned to allow the taller trees to reach out and grab more nutrients

      On some of the steeper ground there are very large trees. Large maple, beech and aspen.

    Any chance of finding water from a well at this elevation or would one need to bring it all in if looking to build a cabin or place an RV?

    • @richardtheriault7624
      @richardtheriault7624 10 месяцев назад +1

      Probably a drilled well will yield water. Best to ask a well driller. The neighbor looks to be buiilding a nice place, I would imagine he will be drilling a well too.

    Is the property boundary flagged/marked?

    • @richardtheriault7624
      @richardtheriault7624 11 месяцев назад

      The road makes p a boundary over a large length of it. There is a high voltage power line that is another boundary, and the final boundary has pins, and some flagging.

    Its hard to find land not in tree growth

    • @northerncaptain855
      @northerncaptain855 11 месяцев назад +1

      It’s easy to take land or a portion out of TreeGrowth. It will involve a tax assessment that must be payed to the town. In my experience it’s easy and not expensive.

      I have a 45 +- acre parcel in Amity that is not in Tree Growth. I also have a 27+- acre parcel in Amity as well that is not in Tree Growth. The first one is $49500, the second is $29,700.

    Trump says windfarms are incredibly loud and will murder every bird and whale in the area...see any dead whales there? Or is it one of his 50k lies and exaggerations? 🤣 Nice piece of land at a fair price. 👍

      When its comes to whales he was referencing the wind farms planned for new jersey coast, keep in mind wind farms don't even pay for itself over 20 years

      Windmills do kill an occasional bird, and I think 2 birds in the endangered species list were killed, one in California and one in Oregon or Washington (west coast). I’ve slept since then so there might be more now. LOL! And yeah, LOL! Trump lies. But Republicans love him anyway. 🤷🏻‍♂️
