This game is amazing. I avoided any spoilers or guides for this since I always get bored easily after seeing others play so going into the game blind was the best decision for me. Seeing Ongbal play this just cements how good the game is
I'm kinda surprised you didn't go nuts for the unbound parry stuff, like that one jade that lets you combo it. You can do some really silly things with it. Still, doing Eigong with no damage is impressive enough, let alone no internal damage either. Really nice job and hopefully this helps more people find this game!
Somehow, this game reminds me of the Bayonetta series in that they have one thing in common: They reward you for dodging (or in this case, parrying) at the last possible moment and require you to pay attention to the enemies' movements. I've played the first 2 games in the Bayonetta series, Hollow Knight (another amazing Metroidvania) and Cuphead (another very difficult game). I think I'd like this game.
Now THAT'S a lore accurate Lord Yi! It was such a pleasure to watch, thank you! Also why the hell is true ending so sad?! I'm not excepting it! Yi and Shuanshuan lived long and happy lives and found the cure and everything was awesome - that's my headcanon :D
it's a wonderful game the best game of my country recently made (game industry in my country is suck:( usually make some mobile gabling game) hope Taiwan can make more good indie game even 3A game one day btw the other two game Red Candle Games made are horror game recommend as well :D

Eigong's gotta be one of the hardest final bosses on metroidvania history. Such a fun battle tho, I must have died like 500 times trying to get the true ending and didn't even get pissed.

@@N_Tertainment7 It was a hot take, I’d like to play the game and fast forwarded until I saw a boss with multi-parry to see if I wanted to buy it. The combat system has a lot in common with both Sekiro and Blasphemous, for Blasphemous the sound design and root mechanics seem very similar, the death animation is almost 1:1 which made the connection. Blasphemous is already heavily based on SoulsLikes and Hollow Knight anyway. Looking into Cowboys’s initial run, it looks like the traversal and world design has a lot in common with Hollow Knight and the atmosphere seems very much a combination of Metroid and Sekiro, in a more cyberpunk style (I need a better term than CyberPunk, it’s overused…). The game opens with decapitations and human harvesting, there’s some dark themes in line with Blasphemous. Based on watching a 20min intro playthrough.
If there's a parry mechanic, Ognbal is playing it and making a show of mastering it. I REALLY hope he tries Raw Metal - think sci-fi stealth/beat-em-up (yes, a combination of words you'd never expect) that actually is pretty solid combat wise and yes, it does have a parry mechanic.
Ok now I am sure I encountered most of this bosses without having all those skill upgraded and jades, I couldn't slash the big hit mid air against Kanghui, I guess there're some jades that really make things much easier... at least there was some challenge and made the game last more.
It's cool to see different builds. I used charge attack a lot up to about halfway (it's especially good against Lady) but once I had the jades for it I was doing more parry/unbounded parry and causing myself internal damage to transfer to the enemy, very different style. There are defintiely more than 2 or 3 distinct builds that would all work in their own way against Eigong and that's a lot of fun.
Unfortunately I don't think the style I was using is compatible with no-hit unless causing yourself internal damage due to jades (the quick slash or iron skin or qi swipe) doesn't count
