Awesome video, I have been waiting for this review. I love how you do your videos, you include everything about a laptop. Especially the battery life. which some youtubers do not, or if they do, they confuse you. But anyway, Best videos. Been watching your videos for a long while.
Nice pc. Camera and mics are good. Speakers excellent. For those who need a powerful Apple pc this is the choice. The only down side is the way they price these unit options. Everything appears a-la-cart like a restaurant menu. Great quality review.
Andrew, I absolutely love the keyboard, it is my second favorite keyboard. My favorite keyboard is the Asus G-16. I do basic photo editing and video editing so do you think the M4 Pro is good enough?
I still dream of a Windows-based MacBook Air. Surface Laptop 7 got close but didn't quite deliver it. A 15-inch fanless design with an OLED display and minor compatibility issues. That's the dream laptop for me.
Excellent analysis Andrew, very relevant and the criteria very professional, the M4 Max processor is on another level, the comparisons are very good, yes there are several strong points and others not so good, but in the end the MacBook Pro 16 M4 Max is a very good proposal, without belittling the competition that offers good alternatives, we hope for more reviews according to the user experience, excellent live analysis of the M4 Pro Mac Mini, greetings and always LIKE 👍
What about screen response time? Macbooks have all had quite slow screens in the last years, and this is rarely mentioned by reviewers. When I used an M3 Macbook Pro 14", I noticed some blurring when scrolling due to the slow screen, which defeats the purpose of having high refresh rate.
notebookcheck has some primitive response time measurements on every generation of macbook that you can use to compare. There are no improvements which should be enough information.
No doubt the M4 Max MacBook Pro 16 laptop is a great machine, however, the price is hideous and a total turnoff. Also, nothing to upgrade for what you get. Great video as always Andrew!! 👍😁
Great review. However, I disagree that this is a laptop for 'frequent travelers' when you consider it weighs nearly 6 pounds, including the accessories. This is more of a desktop replacement.
You can just get a super light 45w adapter or similar. It'll charge the system just fine. Compared to what laptops was like 10-15 years ago this thing is super light and slim.
I travel with my 16inch M3 and don't find it any issue. I had the 14 inch briefly and hated the smaller screen so got my 16 back and haven't looked back.
I saw other reviews mention less than 2h battery life working through actual projects this Mac is supposed to be used for. Can you at least report the newest office use battery life? Thank you! Video playback is useless for many of your reviewers. Great work though!
Great Video. Thank you for being unbiased and showing the true pros and cons of this. It's important for reviewers to not be biased towards one side or another. At the end of the day, people IMO should never be brand loyal, but be loyal to their wallets and their workflow. Because competition is great for the consumer. Be happy that the other companies improve because it should force windows, Apple, etc to improve. Because of Apple windows had to get better at ARM, Windows on ARM has forced AMD and Intel to improve and this is just beneficial for the consumer that everyone has to keep improving. Windows kind of influenced that now all macs going forwad will have 16gb ram, hopefully this impressive performance on the M4 series lights a fire that Windows on ARM, Intel, and AMD need to make machines that are both powerful and efficient.
Thank you for your review but maybe you should make the battery life part a bit more relevant to today's standards? Who watches 20 hours of local videos in 2024? In 720p, it's even less likely. Also, it depends on the software used and whether it priorises quality or efficiency. Even if it's not very accurate, a real world usage would be more helpful imo.
