      @@ddjr6673 It wasn't really a fluke. @@ddjr6673 She has fired more coaches than anyone else by far with ridiculous reasoning. She even had Tursunev ( he never does that ) talk about clear red flags why he stopped coaching her and you have interviews with her we're she states that she mostly knows better than the coach. She is an extremely sheltered narcicist impossible for critical reflection that is more certain than with any other player. In the ATP I d say it's Rune but he is much less a problem than Raducanu. You could see it with her instantly after the US open win. It was all modelling gigs and her behavior changed instantly.

    Those injuries I think affected her confidence. She went from being feared to the one that looks to have fear. I remember when 127th ranked Viktória Hrunčáková who was nowhere near Bianca's level completely outplayed and spanked Bianca with ease in a tournament Bianca should've dominanted everyone that stepped on that court. Something I always recommend people to take a look are the ELO rankings for tennis, ELO is the way chess players are ranked and shows a much better picture of the level of players. Peak Andreescu(2019) has the 6th highest ELO of active players, below Venus(2002), Azarenka(2013), Swiatek, Zvonareva and Kvitova. This gives a good picture of how good a player was at the peak. • @tomgraham3206

    She lost her forehand totally and her serve mostly. That's what's happened since 2019. She therefore went from a potential number one player to a top 50-100 player in her level. I'm not sure why. I tend to think she has lost some physical strength somewhere along the lines.

    • @usaskjock
      @usaskjock Год назад +6

      she just does NOT move well enough. It's not that she's not athletic but if you watch her matches now once she falls behind in a rally and virtually never is able to get back into it. So it's putting too much pressure on her first strike game, which is good but not spectacular. Her 2019 year was absolutely insane though. I still think she will have a good career and certainly has the talent to win another major (as does most of the top 30). With the WTA you never know - if Vondrouseva can win a major Andreescu certainly can again.

Is booked for a meet in Mexico in late February. I think we should know this year if Bianca will ever be able to be competitive again or if she will be leaving tennis. I’m pulling for Bianca. I have to. She is my favourite athlete to watch in any sport. All I can say is C’mon Bianca!

  • @richietaylor9870
    @richietaylor9870 Год назад +1

    However frequent the injuries, the fact that she’s only 23 means that anyone who is going to write her off risks looking an idiot. At that age she’s far better equipped to heal from them than if she was 30. Having had them more frequently does not necessarily mean she has a brittle body which will continue to be injury prone and can just be a case of unlucky timing. Looked at another way, it could even be better to get those injuries earlier when she’s able to heal better and faster. The break to deal with her mental health was exactly the right thing to do and it shows a lot of maturity even to take such a decision. Emma Raducanu may have done herself a huge favour if she had done the same, or similar, in early-mid 2022 when the initial excitement around her started to turn sour. Perhaps her own physical injuries forcing her to take a long break from the game can be a blessing in disguise, giving her the time to mentally reset and return with a renewed drive and hardened against the more negative aspects of fame and success? As sporting redemption stories go, a Raducanu vs. Andreescu GS final at sometime in the coming years would be a pretty good one!
    Now, this is just a hunch, but, I get the feeling that women like these two who have struggled mentally and have cycled through a number of coaches should try hiring females coaches. I don’t necessarily think it’s the answer for everyone, but I suspect that there could be something in their ability to connect with or trust their coaches. This doesn’t have to be the male coaches fault, it’s simply the case that some people just get on better with women, while others do with men, and where that’s the case, they may feel more comfortable discussing the mental/personal issues that they face. And it’s not as though their aren’t a lot of former champions who, in the past few years have found themselves… un-busy. And the marketing does itself! Imagine a grand slam final between Bianca and Emma but with a renewed rivalry between, say, Coach Clijsters and Coach Barty… Coach Kerber vs Coach Bartoli, Radwanska vs Li, or the dream match up: Williams vs Williams - The Coaching Years!

    Bibi needs to sort out her physicality. She looks to be carrying a little more weight compared to other players, and I wonder if a drop in weight, and a change in diet (see Novak for example), would give her more speed AND more energy on court. Add to that, the process of dropping weight might also make her physically stronger if the right strength and conditioning was used. I dont think she needs anything technically, or tactically. She has those. But her body HAS let her down, and you have to begin asking why has it let her down, and what can be done to give it an extra few percentage points of efficiency.

    Women’s tennis in the last few years to a decade seems filled with one hit wonders. Tennis players who hit a hot streak, win a major then drop off. They can’t sustain their form and perform consistently afterwards. Sloan Stephens, Andreescu, Mugurutha, Sofia Kenin, Ostapenko, Wozniaki.
    On the men’s side: obvious cases are Del Potro and Thiem.
    But it just seems to plague women’s tennis more of late.

    It's become a pattern with these young girls who win a Slam pretty much out of nowhere and then descend into crises for a while. Andreescu, Kenin, Ostapenko, Raducanu. I think it's because tennis has become a world sport with intense media coverage, fans being a nuisance with social media and online betting, and the women's game becoming a lot more competitive. It has always been a challenge for young girls basically to grow up in the public eye, but is exacerbated by the things mentioned.

    I was never a fan of Andrescu. She is a great talent no doubt. But the hype around her during her 2019 peak season kinda put me off. I understand WTA is in desperate need of the next megastar. But judging a player by one single season never seems like a good idea to me. Young upstarts like Bianca needs a few years to get used to the intensity of the tour and devleop their game gradually so they can be a consistently solid player. Peaking too soon sometimes does more harm than good. Having a great season is easy but keeping the level high for years is an uphill battle. You have to have big weapons and keep imrpoving. Over the years so many one slam players flopped right after having the best season and never got back to where they used to be. I believe the injuries and Covid hiatus greatly undermined her confidence as a player. Watched many of her matches last year. She seemed like a lost soul on court, forgetting what kinda player she should be. Luckily she showed positive signs during Miami this year. But two major injuries in one single season really put a big question mark on the longevity of her tennis career. I hope she get her confidence back and be a formidable force on tour.

    She was very much a clone of 99% of other woman professional players ; double hand back hand plays offensive back court game - accept she was very strong AND , she possessed more variety than most - that very good drop shot
    The modern back court game is brutal on women in particular - with a few exceptions, it suits teens n early 20 s when they are physically peaked - the brutal back court thrashing. This heavy hitting & relentless side to side ( with little finesse) wrecks their bodies - look at Kennan , Osaka or Radacarnu
    I d say 70% plus of the really successful teens like her & the above , - mostly peak around 20 yrs or earlier - then physically go down fast from there

    I didn’t like the mention of an Injured Serena since they are all playing with injuries. If Serena was so bad off she shouldn’t be playing. She beat her because she is a great tennis player.

    I really like bibi and one thing many people noticed was her shot selection post return. She would slice less and her power was less than pre injury.
    I’ve always wondered why she changed her shots to being a power hitter and not use her iconic drop shots.

      Confidence. If she were to remain injury free and able to play regularly again for extended periods of time, I'm sure all the variety that made her so special would return as well. I hope it happens.

    I have to say I am depressed about Bibi still waiting for her back to heal to allow her to play again. Her injury problems continue, maybe not playing until next March, if then. Surely, the tennis Gods can release their hold on this talented soul, freeing her up to again let her show us her magic, for even just one more major title. That’s all I ask for, just one more.

    She is not playing well now at all. She is young but always complains of injuries. Not much exercise. She should give up tennis and go for some other profession. These days young players are far too good for her. She could never beat them or go beyond the first round.

      I’m sure the most talented of the ladies will take your wise advice. One thing about advice is, it’s free. Everybody wants to give it. You are exactly the kind of person I want Bibi to make eat crow. Nobody can play the game like her when healthy. I know it’s a long shot now but we just might see how great she can really be with no more injuries. I’m not giving up on this charismatic, exciting to watch athlete until I am forced to. She’s far too talented to write off at 23 years old.

    Garbine Muguruza doesn't move as well as the other top players. She was able to win big over a limited period of time. But there are too many great athletes coming into the women's game who will literally outrun and out hit her. Garbine needs to do a better job of varying her serve placement, serve and volley more and try to shorten points. She can't stay in long rallies with any of the top women.
    Bianca is a great athlete who has had bad luck with injuries. She needs to hire a good chiropractor who also has a deep knowledge when it comes to nutritional supplements.

    • @dukeon
      @dukeon 7 месяцев назад

      It’s not bad luck, she’s carrying too much weight around. She’s an injury waiting to happen. And chiropractors are not doctors or nutritionists. She needs to get on a diet, get physically fit off the court, stop partying and goofing around, and then return to the court with some serious dedication. But I don’t think she’ll do that. Winning too early spoils players, and they start blaming everything but themselves.

      @dukeon She's had terrible injuries in front of the whole world where she's on the ground writhing in pain. There's nothing in dispute there. I don't think she's been any heavier than when she beat Serena Williams in the US Open final. Maybe there's another term for bad luck maybe reverse lottery etc.

    Terrible attitude and zero respect towards her opponents on court, it's simply impossible to root for her.
    Never forget Kerber's famous words calling her the "biggest drama queen". And that's from Angie who is a class champion and very rarely beefs with anyone on court.

    Your audio is overdubbed or something. Doesn’t match the video in a few places and sounds weird, like those overdubbed video game ads. I never cared for Andreescu. Too overweight, too dramatic. Seems like all Canada produces are overhyped flashes in the pan. Bouchard, Andreescu, Raducanu. Blech.
