@pepperstars I’m the slightest bit of a gay bff for most of my girl friends, so I understand where you’re coming from- it’s a lot less reciprocated by guys. A lot of other guys don’t feel exactly comfortable showing so much enthusiasm (as far as I’ve observed), but I honestly don’t think it hurts letting that be part of your attitude. It’s definitely less awkward than trying to yell at eachother from across two blocks, or walking in silence and pretending you didn’t see eachother until you’re 5 feet away lol
but, really, do whatever makes it more comfortable to chat! Hell, call whoever you’re meeting up with and chat until you’re close enough.

Quick tip for any of those who want to prevent this situation: if you're outside, just run to your friend. It's a bit more awkward to do that indoors, but running initiates the conversation because of your effort in getting to the other person. Plus it just speeds up the process, anyway.

In those situations I usually try to be even more awkward on purpose to the point where it's funny and then people are less tense. Works better than you'd think, but only with certain people.
