I have Orange aby boxed my Headrush MX5 and Spark40 in hommage to Digital John and actually like the results for looping w both together a pedal to the Spark and the MX5 internal looper.
Agree 100% - I’ll never buy a Chapman until they produce a 6 in-line top key headstock. The inverted headstock sucks big time. It’s got to be affordable.
Would be nice to hear from actual owners, who buy these guitars and why? Tell us what made you choose a Chapman in this over saturated market considering what the resell value must be? What do you like about it, how does it hold over time in your guitar arsenal?
From what I gather, they're just Harley Benton's with a different name on the headstock. They come from the same factory from what I've been able to figure out. Not really worth it, the HB's I've owned have all been awful guitars. I'd probably avoid them tbh. Plus what kind of customer support will they have if you get a bad guitar?
I see the resale thing come up a lot and it's curious to see why. With a few notable exceptions mostly of the vintage variety, guitars are not investment assets. Resale value therefore shouldn't be a priority consideration. I own an older ML3 Pro Traditional and I got it because I liked the color (Triton blue), satin finish, and the fact that it's made of swamp ash. I swapped the pickups out for Bare Knuckle Piledrivers, the stock pickups were its weakest point but these older models didn't come with Seymour Duncans. It looks good and sounds good so to me it is good. YMMV.
Have the finish quality / durability issues reported been resolved in the current models? Got my eye on the Cyber Black at Anderson’s. Something as a Contrast to my current Epi Les Paul Lemon Burst
That pink tele is fire and the specs are great value, I'm thinking about, this might be my first Chapman, the only thing I don't like is high output pickups, but they can be changed, I'm a single coil type tone player, I like sparkle clean humbucker, like a low output paf type, with a3 magnets. I play mostly country so.
Man ...don't sleep on Chapman !!!! I have a ML1 modern and it has the Sonorous Zero humbuckers which are a ceramic pickup BUT ..they hold their own up against my Les Paul with Fishmans !!!!!!! I have heard the NEW pickups the Madrigal Humbuckers!!!They are Chapman's house pickups and I was told by a buddy that owns a local music store that got an advanced model so he could test before making an order and its a ML3 PRO SEMI HOLLOW ....and he said they was the best sounding pickup he has ever heard!!!! Now I know....I know ...that's saying A LOT ....but man I can split the coils on mine to get a single coil sound ...and have the HB also.....I think if you bought one you would LOVE it !!!! My neck and especially the fretboard is VERY NICE!!!!!SILKY SMOOTH!!!!!
Nice looking bodies and decent specs, I’ll admit… but man this headstock is Marmite. I can’t ever see myself wanting to own a guitar made by this brand but no hate towards those of you that have one and enjoying.
I have 2 pro series ML1 and ML3 no neck dive I own 3 Gibson SG’s so I have a good base line. Wide Dunlop and Ernie Ball straps tend to mitigate any dive.
Chapman ML3 pro gold. 10" radius here. I see after checking the older "Triton" model is 9.5 inch, but now these are 10. With stainless! S. Duncan pu's! Unbelievable specs. Not sure about the high resistance pickups.
These guitars _appear_ to be well made (anything less than that minimum these days is unacceptable), but beyond that, they are just so bland. The Muzak style play demo is not helping. Rob's business reputation aside (kudos for keeping him off camera) I still think this is a dying brand, whose limited time has come and gone.
This whole brand was based around one person who right or wrongly, has gained a toxic perception. Unless you're a fan of Rob, why would you chose this brand over others at a similar price, which will more than likely have better resell value? Maybe they're very good and competitive but you do hear QC problems with Chapman. The purple is stunning mind.
@@Uygkuyfkutfkytfkutfv I mean, he can be a bit annoying and too obvious with the PR stuff, and he made some mistakes defending himself, but since then I think he's been fine. The charity thing made me laugh.. every big brand makes a big deal out of their charity, and of course they still do it for PR, they're just much smarter and classier about it. Rob just showed his naivety and inexperience in the way he tried to sell his brand via charity.. He's probably learned a great deal since then.. And as for the bullying accusations - it seems more like him going all out and being impulsive in trying to defend his brand and image, especially when he was just starting out. He won't have wanted his brand to be tarnished from the get go, and tried to completely stamp out any negativity. Of course, this had the opposite effect, and had he had a professional PR team (he does now), I'm sure they would have advised a different approach back then. It's unfortunate because he can come across as a very unlikable character, but when you measure up what he's actually done with the amount of vitriol and backlash he got, it becomes comically unbalanced. Just my take from what I've seen since my original reply.
@@TheGlobuleReturns yeah; the current zeitgeist is all about brutal destruction, at any cost. Any excuse to destroy someone or something and people will jump at it. I can sense that they feel great, but the sound and tones are not very distinctive. The upside down headstocks just look gimmicky and seem impractical and more prone to getting damaged. Like they are different just to be different, not because it’s better.
Gold tele looks lush. I just wish Chapman guitars were a bit lighter. I often find the tone is a bit, empty? Not wanting to be to harsh, but there’s something missing and keep trying to like the guitars, as they look great and the specs are brilliant.

Needs a Chapman sig right?
The purple with gold hardware and maple fretboard is a classy looking guitar.
I'm so glad to see a company make 7 string guitars that aren't just black or white. Having some colour on a 7 string or even a burst is such a rarity!
wheres the brit built ones at guys? sure i saw a vid where you were promoting them fairly recently? maybe not..
The British line in on hold. The factory can’t handle all the outside orders from other company’s? Or the demand was low? Again?
Have they released more than five guitars this time around?
Love the chord progression on the intro. Definitely my favorite for improv.
Man Pete you always have some killer tones going on!!!!!! Love your work Bro ....Keep up the FANTASTIC job you always do!!!!!

I entirely disagree. Aiming to buy a Chapman soon, the headstock is part of the reason why. I love how it looks and my thumb simply needs space.
