Hey guys, in this video I show you how to make a very easy mob farm without which gives a lot of XP and loot!

This is so well made! I love the fact that when you go to the water, the song muffles a bit. Plus, the editing is really well done.
Thank you so much!
I liked that as well. Nice touch!
@@Voltrox BRO WHY ARE THE ZOMBIES STUCK AT THE WALLL
I did not use kelp at all, XD
I had to go back and check that out. Nice touch.
I tried this on ps5 tonight. It works great, except I couldn't get the kelp to grow on the soul sand. I replaced it with a regular block, placed kelp, used bonemeal to grow the kelp to the top, then was able to break the kelp and the block I planted it on and replace it with soul sand. Works great :)
Literally doing right now
I couldn’t get the kelp to grow past 18 blocks on ps5 this super helped though!
@@madiej4119 actually, mine didn't reach the top either, I assumed I had counted wrong, but maybe it just doesn't go past 18? It still works with a shorter elevator though.
I'm on ps4, it works, you need to put a gravel block instead of the soulsand do the kelp thing, then break the kelp, then break the gravel block and put the soul sand instead where was the gravel block
Thanks for the tip dude, same thing happened to me and I'm on PC :,)
Tip: if you can’t place down the kelp on the soul sand just replace it with dirt for a brief moment and once your kelp is all the way up remove the kelp and then replace it with the soul sand like usual that should work 💯
thank you so much kuch lol
What a legend thanks bro💯🔥💪🏼
You have big brain that worked 🎉
so im having an issue with this the zombies are getting clumped up in the air pocket and i am not sure how to fix it except to go in there and kill them that way
also if you are having issues with the elevator make sure it is soul SAND i was a dumb ass and was using soul SOIL. thank again
This is the best tutorial I’ve ever seen. It has everything I needed, down to counting the amount of blocks dug when making the bubble column. Like it is literally perfect. Great job
Does it work on bedrock?
@@the501stlegion8 I made it on Java, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t. There might be a chance you have to make the bubble column and falling pit smaller so they don’t die when hitting the ground, so you could experiment with that a bit
@@the501stlegion8 as in dig less than 25 and 23 blocks. Try shorter lengths in a creative world
@@xero.amv__ why is that?
@@the501stlegion8yes. You’ll have to manually place some of the kelp for the full water elevator but besides that it’s exactly the same. Just did it myself
Ahah the editing and explanation on this video is wonderful, i love the way the audio muffles when you go underwater
Thank you!!
@crafting_ideas1404 Because you have to be somewhat close to the spawner for the zombies to spawn. Just digging 23 blocks down will put you too far away from the spawner, thus, no zombies spawn. This way, you are way closer, about 6 blocks away from the spawner, allowing for the zombies to be spawned.
Like everyone else is saying - thank you so much for this video! Brief, well explained, well edited! Awesome video!
This is just as easy as very effective, thanks a lot!
Also I love the editing style there are a couple of nice touches there aren't obvious to find everywhere
Editing was great, super clean, easy to understand and straight to the point. Farm works well too
This is like the fourth time i cameback to this video and it's alwys so nice, thank you
This is great dude! Very easy to follow and the explanation is clear and easy to use. Thanks so much :)
Great format, easy to follow, amazingly efficient! Been a while since I played, so thanks a lot!
i dug straight into lava digging down 23 blocks... i saved and quit and i dont think i can survive.. pray for me. i shouldnt have done this with my good armor and tools on me (i also finally got a good trident) im so screwed.
Forgot to update, but yeah it's all gone, I died, it was a very upsetting day.
I tried building this and got stuck inside
I use freecam mod so that this cant happen to me @@Lueezoid u should too!
@@rulingdenzy that's insane 😭
oufh thats so rough, sending my condolences. i remember having an incident like that in a previous world in the nether...not fun!
Ah I love digging back down my hole while suffocating in water
this setup works great, and its very easy to follow with the nice tutorial. Tip: you got to put slabs were all the zombies end up, because otherwise the baby zombies will kill you (happened to me when i was afk.
This may be the best tutorial I've seen on anything in minecraft! To the point, informative, short but detailed, with great visuals. Thanks!
I love this build. I've used it for my recent survival world. Thanks! :)
I love that you muffle the music while in the water. Really good touch
Awesome sound edit when swimming in the water mate :D
Thanks! 😃
@@Voltrox No worries! I know you enjoy doing the earlier game sorta stuff and with less Redstone, but if you do a tutorial on auto sorting and a large auto smelter that'd be sick! I'm currently over 600 days in my Hardcore world and the more later game farms/machines would be good to get a look at! Such as Witch/Redstone farm, gold+piglin trader farm, slime (in chunk) farm etc :)
@@soukply2937 Your hardcore world sounds very interesting!
@@RedBackGamer813 Thanks mate! Most recently I used the Wither Skeleton farm showcased in one of Voltrox's more recent videos and currently have 16 Super beacons (6 beacons per) around my base thanks to it haha
Amazing tutorial! The steps are easy to follow and concise, and the editing is great. I like the detail of the music muffling when you go underwater. Thank you for making this video!
Just tested this, and it works like a charm! Thanks!
To make the farm more effecient; make the space below the spawner 6 blocks, not 2. That way the first pack of mobs clears the spawnable area fully, allowing for the second pack to spawn earlier.
EDIT:
This is both for Bedrock and Java as this is to clear the range the spawner checks for the presence of mobs of the same type to prevent an overload in a dungeon room. This range is 9x9x9 centered on the spawner. Spawnable ranges are 9x9x9 on bedrock, and only 9x3x9 on Java. Having 1 to 5 mobs of the same type within the checked range, not the spawnable range, reduces the rates. Hence we put a slab on top of the spawner to prevent mobs from staying there. Having 6 or more mobs within the checked range disables the spawner to prevent a dungeon room from being flooded by mob spawns if a player stays active nearby without lighting it. Without this a game could lag out as the spawners are not limited by the mobcap.
Wdym by the space below the farm?
@@TR58699 Below the spawner, my apologies. I'll correct the text ;) Dig the floor 6 down, not 2
Yeah, that does make the farm quicker. I tried thanks
@@flooferdoofer you mean down by 6 here? 1:02.
And if yes can you explain why it's more efficient.
@@nub8312he did just read the rest of his comment
I died in my hardcore making this, fell down the 23 block hole :( ... nice video though
THANK YOU SO MUCH I REALLY NEEDED A TUTORIAL AND THIS VID REALLY HELPED
Thanks man I needed this! Also, spawner :)
One small issue with this is that the kill chamber is just 1 block which could potentially entity cramp the zombies after a long time of AFKing while some of the Exp orbs get stuck in the hopper. Simple solution though is to place slabs on the hoppers (the zombies still get 1-2 shotted) and add more room to make it a 1x3.
Would carpet work too?
@@tinocabral4201 wondering this as well
@@shaunpocalypse I tested it and carpet works but for me having no carpet is actually better the exp just goes through the hopper and to me more consistently whereas with carpet it sometimes stays on top if I’m not rly close to it, so I’d just experiment in your own world but for me it’s about the same I just get more xp without carpet
I found a double spawner, and it works f**king amazing, thanks for this 🗿🤝🗿
How to make the farm if its 2 spawner?
@@Fel.2069connect with water
@@nishikienrai9425 figured it out thx
seed??
this is such a clear tutorial and the farm works so well :) thank you for this!
The farm works so good thank you!
This xp farm works great besides the occasional zombie somehow getting out and attacking me. The area is very well lit up and everything is built correctly, I have no idea how this is happening
baby zombies can go thru 1 block gaps and you need to place slabs in the killing chamber
Do place a carpet on hopper....so xp doesn't stuck in hoppers
That's actually so useful, thanks
This video is perfect, and it works very well. Thank you !
Thanks for the video man ! Didn't plays Minecraft in years and i was wondering if t here were any new ways of doind this !
Perfect, nice Job.
I love the "underwater" sound👍
I'll try to use this design for my new project...
Nice! My favorite early game xp farm! Remember the old water elevator where you alternated between signs and water blocks to make the mobs swim up? The soul sand was a welcome change! I like having the killing chamber several blocks above the spawn chamber. You just have to stay within 16 blocks of the spawner. Love the quick and easy tutorials! Keep it up!
Just built it and it works a charm, thanks Voltrox
Thx man i really love your explaination and that display video !!!
If you put a carpet above the hopper you can remove the slabs for easier access. It also hides the hopper pretty well
this also prevents xp orbs from getting stuck in hoppers, so bonus
Won’t baby zombies be able to squeeze through?
@@tinocabral4201 oh I did that for a skeleton spawner
@@soup2865 ohhh gotcha
Just get the amount of kelp you need instead of using bonemeal, because it has a chance to not grow sometimes which messes things up. Also for bedrock users, plant the kelp on a dirt block then replace it with soul sand when you are done.
If my kelp didn’t grow to the very top of the 25 block height would that be a reason for my skeletons getting stuck up there and not dropping down the last shaft? Thanks in advance if you can help me!!!
@@bunnylebowski4465 Yes! that means the bubble elevator is too short, just get all the kelp needed and place them again after breaking the soul sand. you can also you can grow kelp in any body of water.
@@pizzaguy_ you are my savior thank you so much! I got it working and added a cobweb in the shaft so they weren’t dying on impact !!!! I’m good to go :))))))
@@bunnylebowski4465 No problem! you can also increase the height of where your skeletons fall, so that you can kill them in one hit because of the fall damage instead of them taking no damage because of the cobweb.
Spawner! Great design, great video thank you!
Spawner! This video is so simple and short, I love it
Still works after the 1.20 update 👍
It's 4 the 1.20
@@tigergameraj it was posted during the 1.19 update with “Tutorial 1.19” in the title.
Ok
Would this not work in new updates? It’s such a cool setup I’d hate to lose it.
Very great design and tutorial! Just one issue, how do I stop baby zombies from getting stuck in the wall, right before the soul sand? Thanks!
Im having the same issue, did you fix it?
@@aubreyyob6611 I have not found a solution yet
I ended up just using a skeleton spawner and it works that way
put a slab above the hopper
Love it keep up the good work
mine wasn't working at first but your video along with comments helped troubleshoot it really easily and now it works great!
Is there a fix for why the zombies get caught at the top of the water elevator?
I need to know too, my skeletons arent coming down the shaft but theyre definitely getting pushed up
My kelp won’t place on the soulssand did they patch the kelp elevators?
Same here
@@THColt45 make and infinite water source and place a bucket of water in each square
@@THColt45 that’s how I got it too work without kelp
Works fine and explanation on how to build it is great cause some YTubers would just sped up and say things and I couldn’t do it but you is a true life saver
Nicely edited tutorial, and very good design! Keep it up!
spawner! :D
Tip if its a skeletons spawner just add powdered snow on the block where the head of skeletons are they change into stray and drop slowness arrow and if in bedrock and have a zombie spawner just add water instead of po.. snow so they change into drowned and drop copler nautilus shell and even trident
Yeah I would but it breaks their fall so its not really worth it
If you can find a way where it doesn’t break their fall lmk
Use a sticky piston connected with a lever next to head so after fall you can flick the lever and wait 30 sec .
This worked great on bedrock but one thing, you have to manually place kelp on a block (placing it in soul sand didn’t work for me) but it’s overall a great farm
@@dariusbendasiuk5678 the soul sand makes the bubble. The kelp makes from flowing water entire water entitiies because bubbles only work in there
Thank you so much!
Great tutorial, super helpful and simple!
The zombie is sometimes stuck on the wall and refuse to go up the elevator. It's weird that this is not an issue for skeletons.
How can I fix that? I'm playing on Java Edition.
same problem here
yep same here
Found a fix, when you attack one they start coming up the water
In the video he breaks a block next to the soulsand that makes the water flow so this doesn’t happen. I missed this detail the first time but it fixed it for me
I did this in my hardcore server and I died bc of a glitch in the spawner and now I lost everything..... the zombies got stuck when going through the kelp water and when I came to check I died like 3 hitted and I couldn't escape
🫵😢
This is such a good spawner! Great job.
Spawner! Thanks for the tutorial it is very useful
Cant you just make itso it falls directly into the killing chamber?
For a spawner to work you need to be within 16 blocks of it. For skellies/zombies to drop to a 1-hit-kill state you need to drop them 21 blocks. Meaning your killchamber would be outside the range of the spawner. So you could drop them straight down to a kill chamber, but then you'd have to climb/run up yourself to spawn the next couple of mobs. Moving the mobs themselves goes quicker.
@@flooferdoofer ahh thats smart
It is easy to build, but it is diffcult to find a spawner. Lmao
I found a double spawner skeleton and zombie so even more mobs spawn for my farm
@@saccount8009 I had found a couple too. but I lost my game file.
Easy, great for early game, well done tutorial, thank you!
your tutorials are always the best!
I cant place kelp on Social Sand
I don’t think you can on bedrock edition, but you can place it on sand, and then once the kelp has grown to the top, you can replace the regular sand with soul sand
Social sand 💀
@@uranium1430damn bro's social sand is too shitty to be used

Thanks for the guide, I haven't made one before.
good video, thank you man
Thanks! I was able to install one of these in my strip mine on my friends' server. Hope it'll get us all enchanted goodies for a long time!
How'd it go? Is the server still active? I'm making this rn
yep! Server still up and going. It runs pretty good! No problems so far ^^ @@errerr1352
Thank you for this. I found a dual Skeleton and Zombie dungeon right next to each other and they both end up in the same room.
I kept them seperate so more Zombies and Skeletions can drop without dying to entity cramming.
Of course this isn't as effective as say an Enderman XP farm but it does it's job and is so much easier to set up, plus I don't have to travel through 2 dimensions to get there.
This was very helpful thanks
Perfect guide, made it today and it took no time at all
I never thank people for xp farms, since they never work. But this one works so thank u bro ur a lifesaver🙏🙏
Thx so much works perfectly and is great

For those who can’t place the kelp. Just use gravel, grow it, break it, then replace gravel with the soul sand. Also bring extra kelp in case it doesn’t grow all the way, so you can just place the missing bits
Thank you!
works very well, thanks
