- Saturday, November 12th, 2022. A Sudbury Saturday night? Sure! So we start at Stompin' Tom's statue outside and then take you inside this classic arena, with a cornerstone that matches the Memorial Auditorium in Kitchener. When you're beneath the stands of the Sudbury Arena, you get the same feel as when you're beneath the stands at The Aud. Please forgive some of the camera work as I tried to steer clear of people's faces, especially the kids who were just finishing up a game here. I hope you enjoy the tour! And don't forget to stick around until the end! That climb to the press box is a doozy...
I'm from London and I really miss the smaller arena The London Gardens. Don't get me wrong I love The Budweiser Gardens and all it has to offer and all the amazing concerts we've had over the last 20 years there, but nothing beats a smaller arena for the intimate setting and community feel. Sudbury Arena looks great.
I love this because it’s my hometown arena and it’s super fun
What a barn - a building for hockey through and through!
I’m glad they’re still using the arena- all that history and tradition.
This is awesome. Idk how this video doesn't have more views considering the popularity of Shoresy
thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it.
These videos are really cool. Very nice story-telling.
thanks very much!
So narrow versus some of the other OHL rinks. Just like the old Memorial Gardens in Guelph, The Aud in Kitchener and where the Alice Dogs used to play. Looks like a great old barn for sure!
Good Video 🥅🏒 I used to be a Parking Lot Attendant at the arena 1990-97.
Thanks for the vid! I live in Boston but the two Junior rinks that I love the most are this and the Aud. I never even thought about a common history between them, but I know that I love a classic rink. It blew my mind to learn that they share a birthday. I can't believe that I was so stupid as to not see the similarities. The Aud is a bit more updated, but the bones really do seem very similar.
thanks for the comment! Keep your eyes peeled. A little "Aud After Dark" tour is coming before Christmas! :)
Shoresy approves
T.o.p a next year can you do the Brampton Steelheads like to see that video if you can
One more thing you would want to be at the first game the North Bay Battalion come back to Brampton go troops go
I vist the rink about one month ago and I did not like it
We should still have the Queen's portrait up here at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. Show me Canada without the British. We aren't the Catholic church, for the love of Lucifer. Get her outta storage. It's already dusted off for the shooting of that movie, eh Mike? Lol
