I think the title _Anthropology_ makes sense once you realize that we as human beings, whether crack pianists or not, can follow Bud to any logical resolution, it all just makes so much sense, and yet, if we are honest, we wouldn't have arrived at this level of lucidity if it hadn't been for this amazing man showing us the way. But once we really latched onto his intellect, we were hooked, and there was no turning back. Bud Powell forever.

Man. This video right here is the reason I still sit at the keys every day. It affected me so much I dropped everything I had been doing on the piano up until that point for a good while to just play hours of rhythm changes every day. Magic... I don't believe in God etc., but when I see this I can't help but feel Bud is channeling something here. He's just a vessel for something greater - what we should all aspire to as musicians. Incredible.

i'll never forget the first time i heard a piano player sing his solo like bud. it was the mid 90s and i was sitting right behind the piano player at smalls and i kept hearing someone singing or humming these weird out of key lines, i asked my friend if they heard it. then i caught a line where the guy actually sang his line dead on and i realized that it was the piano player making all those noises, lol.

It's my life, what can I say. This music is just about the only thing that makes sense to me in this life, besides dogs.

Bud ha la stessa tensione emotiva del fraseggio simile a quella di Jarrett .Grazie from Italia .

So neat to see Pederson so young here, who much later joins Oscar Peterson... the links and lineage are solid!

Bud has so much of Parker. Amazing how he changed the style and way of approaching improv on the piano.
