I had radiator heating in a 100+ year old house I grew up in and I associated the hissing and whistling with comfort since it meant my freezing cold room was going to warm up.
How one reacts to noises may indeed be associated with one's upbringing. My Mom said that I was an easy baby to take care of because after taking a bath and tucked in, I would sleep for three hours uninterruptedly despite loud noises (Hong Kong was the noisiest city in the world due to all of the construction activities: driving piles, air drills digging up sidewalk/pavement to bury electrical cables, etc.) Sleep-study doctor questioned me about whether I had narcolepsy because I dropped like a rock into deep sleep and spent such an exceptional fraction of my sleeping time in deep sleep. No, I didn't have narcolepsy ! 😂

🎄 🥳 🎉 Oh my goodness, as I watched Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV here in Montreal , it occurred to me that Dari and the other International students might be there in the crowd to experience it! Pleased to see you were actually there in the crowd! Such an impressive parade! Loved it and the singers and marching bands, and dancers too. 🎅🏻🌲⛄️
For what you got at the bagel shop, it was not overpriced. You would pay the same or more here in Houston. Your biggest expense was probably the salmon.
Nice to see you Dari, glad you liked our Thanksgiving, yummy bagels. Maybe I will run into you in NY as we go to rockafellow center. It would be great plus and minus of US obxervations as a foreign student

5th Avenue is also called The Avenue of the Americas. One night I went ripping down 5th Ave in My Chrysler 5th Avenueat 80 mph, no traffic, all green lights.
Im glad you made it over to Brooklyn. Brooklyn used to be a very wealthy area in the old days, and is again I guess, and has a lot of nice historical buildings. There is Williamsburg, Brooklyn Heights, Prospect Park.
The old waterfront warehouse(s) in DUMBO (Down Under Manhattan and Brooklyn bridge Underpass) are gone after the redevelopment of the waterfront. It's quite a tony neighborhood near there now. Well-heeled people just love to have the main treated sewerage drainage of the City of New York (New York City to N.Y. old-timers is just the previously Dutch a.k.a. Knickerbocker and later taken-by-the-English settlement in lower Manhattan, around zipcode 10002 -- 10001 being used by the mail service headquarters in midtown; my initial zipcode in America was 10027) occupy their front view. 😂 😊
@@solconcordia4315 Too bad they're gone. I used to know a couple, one of the original gentrifiers of that neighborhood. Two artists with a kid. Huge warehouse loft that they fixed up. It's funny when I see people comment on the TV show Friends, and say no one would have an apartment that big in NY, well they don't know what went on in the old days. A lot of my friends had pretty huge apartments in the New York City area. Even in the Village. They were dumps that you had to fix up yourself. I guess the movie Ghost kind of shows that, in Soho.
Your videos are always so cheerful they're a treat to watch. The shots of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade from within the crowd were so much more personal than the ones they televise. Dari, I am so glad to hear that you are taking breaks from social media to clear your head and spend more time with your studies. As you mentioned here that is the most important thing right now. Maybe when you have a winter break between semesters you can explore more of your surroundings with greater detail. Even though I would love to see more videos from you, I also understand that you need to have time to live your life, be with friends, and plan and make your goals come true... not just hunkered down in front of a laptop editing. Take care of yourself first and foremost and then everything else will come in due time. I am grateful that some of your dreams are becoming a reality. That is enough for me as a follower of your video adventures.
Products should be as relevant as possible to the *reason* that people watch your channel. In this case, they watch it because they enjoy learning about your perspective as a Russian who travels and, especially now, your experiences as a Russian immigrant in America. Try designing stuff that's funny/cute with a Russian-American theme, e.g. "I came all the way from Russia to New York City and all I got was X" where X is something unpleasant but funny that you experienced and have mentioned on your channel, like the noisy heater in your apartment or maybe you found a dead rat or whatever (it's NYC, if you haven't had some sort of incident involving a rat, you will). Also, Americans *love* hearing about immigrants who came here and love America, so anything that essentially says "I'm an immigrant and I love America" is going to do well.
Interesting ,very interesting, Dasha. By the way, this leather jacket gives you quite an interesting look. A combination of a bit of punk and a bit of Eastern European gangster from the 1990s.😁 But in a sense that makes you smile, especially when combined with your beauty and behavior. By the way, I think from a few of your vlogs since you came to the US, it's clear that your eyes sparkle at times. In the last year I saw your vlogs, I didn't see it in your eyes. Perhaps in some sense the USA or perhaps New York and the university serve you. As for what you want to create on your channel. I think you should suggest some ideas that come to your mind and see what the response will be. The most important thing is that you do what will make you happy and will not harm your studies. What type of things are you interested in creating? Most business people will tell you to create something you are passionate about and that solves a problem. For instance you are a young stylish single woman who has taken great leaps to travel and study abroad. I would like to help you with ideas for your project but I am completely clueless exactly what kind of ideas you want. Can you please explain in more detail what you want and perhaps give some examples or choices to pick from?
Dear Dari, How about an annual calendar with monthly shots from your awesome videos. I currently buy one from another traveller for about $40. Good luck, Love, Ron
Super happy that you feel better and that you are aware of your feelings 🥰 I know it's dangerous, but it would have been fun to see the look on your face trying to get through a real thanks giving dinner, please make sure to try that "special" american food. The danger is that you may get fat, but thats a risk I'm willing for you to take ahaha🤣 Besides Christmas is next and you guys could maybe arrange a christmas dinner with american dishes, perhaps it can be ordered as take away? 🎅🤶🧑🎄 More serious. I liked the video topics and footage, also it is nice to see which activities you share in company with others and which activities you do alone. Gives a good impression on your everyday life and routines. 🙂 Have fun iceskating and good luck with the exam
wow so cool that you get to hang out with other students, enjoying NYC and the experiences you are having. I just wonder how different your lives would be right now if you were back home in Russia.
Glad you had a Happy Thanksgiving with your friends👍. I’m from Las Vegas, I’ve worked over 20 Years in the Hospitality Industry, and there is one thing people always want, and that is experiences. Not souvenirs or anything like that, they want unique experiences that they can only find at the place they’re going to. This is what you should market, your unique experiences here in The States. If you watch The Carpetbagger Channel, he goes to unique and quirky locations in The U.S., places that no travel agent or tour group would ever think about suggesting to Russian Visitors. Places that are steeped in Americana, that celebrate the weird, wacky and unique culture and history of the Unseen America. As you travel more in this country, you could market your unique experiences, state by state, offering both English and Russian perspectives on the Unseen America. And if you learn Spanish and Quebec French, you could visit and market travels into Unseen Canada and Latin America. Hope this helps your search for ideas! Remember with New Year’s Eve coming up, it super cold in New York, they’ve got events in Time Square, but I’ve been told that people tend to get belligerent and mean that night, and that the police won’t let anyone leave once they’re at Times Square for the ball drop. I would suggest a get together with friends that night, at a less crowded location. Can’t wait for your Christmas Videos 👍
I agree with the comments below...I have lived in the US my whole life but you are showing me things I have never seen in NYC! I would sell imported scarves and hats. You looked very cute in that scarf you were wearing Russian style. Women do look very good in scarves for some reason. You could model you own products! E.g. French women wear French scarves in such a stylish way...so maybe you can start a new trend with Russian scarves!! Very practical too for the windy cold weather in the Northeast.
Wonderful video Dari your English are improving every day Thanksgiving Day started back to 1621 when the Pilgrims Fathers sailed to America from Plymouth Devon England .The Pilgrims Fathers they are Puritans and wear black clothes but very plain l believe the native Americans the Wampanoag people gave a Turkey to eat and it’s started from there or l might be wrong. I look forward to your next video when you have time
So glad you were able to see the parade in person! I mentioned before I'd been watching it televised every year for most of my life. Now that you've made it there, across two continents, a visa process, and an ocean, I think I've run out of excuses not to come see it from Virginia. 😅 Otherwise, I'm happy to watch any project you come up with. Good luck with the final exam! 👍
I hope you’re planning on seeing the ball drop on NY Eve at Times Square! But, once you’re in the crowd, it’s soooo hard to get to a bathroom. People have been known to wear adult diapers!
Hi Dari, love your videos. You were asking about something you could sell on your channel. Have you thought about merchandising? So designing some kind of brand or logo and then selling stuff everyone buys such as t-shirts, hoodies, baseball caps etc... as you could get American made. Just a thought.
I am so enjoying listeting your English unlike native speakers. I am from Russia and I understand every word you said. it is like honey for my ears. Do you have some difficulties speaking with locals ?
when you said you haven't thought about being afraid of mass shootings are you saying that you haven't thought about it like about being scared because I know in the past you have mentioned about worrying about mass shootings in America
It's been fun to watch your journey and experiences. One minor criticism if I may.... your accent seems (to me anyway) to getting worse and is harder for me to understand. I have to use close captioning. Maybe it is just you are talking so fast or something. Anyway - keep on keeping on.
I am thankful this year for Dari's videos, as they are always fun and interesting. And I am thankful she received her scholarship to travel and study in the USA!
A psychology reminder relating to your anxiety - people underestimate the emotional impact of events and the 5 most stressful are; death of a loved one - divorce - moving - illness/injury - job loss. So, you've not only moved, you've completed altered the direction of your life and my guess is that will have a huge emotional impact that you naturally assume is "not a big deal" when in reality it is huge - you need to give yourself time and the emotional space to adapt.
On January 1st the day after new years is a special time in Manhattan. The streets will be completely empty in the morning. Great time to ride around in a car and take videos. It will be like a scene out of movie the city with no people on the streets. This was the only time that house of Morgan’s women were allowed in Manhattan. The city parties so hard on new years the next morning is great for moving around in a car very fast.
Hallo Dari! I'm happy when you're happy. The different colours of the leaves were beautiful. Thanks for the positive vibes! I always feel better after seeing you. People living in New York and Manhattan were complaining a lot! They said something of the area you were last, I think it was Brookes. Thousands of illegal immigrants refused to move. Glad they were not there. Sending you lots of love! (Sorry I can't come up with a Project.)❤❤❤ I hear storm Ivan is heading for Moscow. It snowed a lot!
Hey my comment was deleted, but I wish someone would have told me more about this when I was younger. I wish I would have looked harder online, instead of just hanging out going to bars with friends, hoping to just run into somebody.
2:31 They have all these other days to protest and one of the worst times is an event where they are doing something unrelated to the event, do they think that people will not be angry with them? Out of every other day they can protest which isn't going to do anything anyways they pick that day, that is ridiculous.

Hello Dari! You look so well and I am happy you are enjoyng your stay in New York. The Thanksgiving parade was just amazing. Wow you speak a wonderful English so that you could work in tourism!!! I also wish you good luck for your uni exams. Great video and take care❤️🌺🌷
Thank you so much!!
Hey Dari, there is ice skating at Bryant Park. It's at West 42th street & 6th Ave..
Great video kid!!
What a beautiful sunny day for the parade! Thoroughly enjoyed your view and reactions to it. I would like to help you with ideas for your project but I am completely clueless exactly what kind of ideas you want. Can you please explain in more detail what you want and perhaps give some examples or choices to pick from?
I’ll try in the next videos / livestream :)
project AIM is that the same company that tryed to take down tony stark
Thanksgiving is always such a cool time of the year! Mental health challenges are more frequent this season. Hang in there!
Dari you are a regular Chilly Willy. Chilly Willy is a cartoon penguin from the South Pole who doesn't like the cold.
Dear Dari,
How about an annual calendar with monthly shots from your awesome videos. I currently buy one from another traveller for about $40.
Good luck, Love, Ron
Ahaha nice idea :)
Thanks!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing. Curious if there's a similar holiday you grew up with in Russia. If so, how is it similar/different?
Nope :(
Super happy that you feel better and that you are aware of your feelings 🥰
I know it's dangerous, but it would have been fun to see the look on your face trying to get through a real thanks giving dinner, please make sure to try that "special" american food. The danger is that you may get fat, but thats a risk I'm willing for you to take ahaha🤣
Besides Christmas is next and you guys could maybe arrange a christmas dinner with american dishes, perhaps it can be ordered as take away? 🎅🤶🧑🎄
More serious. I liked the video topics and footage, also it is nice to see which activities you share in company with others and which activities you do alone. Gives a good impression on your everyday life and routines. 🙂
Have fun iceskating and good luck with the exam
Thank you so much for such kind wishes ☀️
wow so cool that you get to hang out with other students, enjoying NYC and the experiences you are having. I just wonder how different your lives would be right now if you were back home in Russia.
I don’t want to imagine it 🙈
Glad you had a Happy Thanksgiving with your friends👍.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts 💭
I agree with the comments below...I have lived in the US my whole life but you are showing me things I have never seen in NYC! I would sell imported scarves and hats. You looked very cute in that scarf you were wearing Russian style. Women do look very good in scarves for some reason. You could model you own products! E.g. French women wear French scarves in such a stylish way...so maybe you can start a new trend with Russian scarves!! Very practical too for the windy cold weather in the Northeast.
Thanks for the idea!
The bagels looked amazing, but at that price I would expect to not have to asssemble it myself...
Ahahah you should see it live! Fantastic memories
Are you going to be safe going back to russia after spending time in america?
I hope you’re planning on seeing the ball drop on NY Eve at Times Square! But, once you’re in the crowd, it’s soooo hard to get to a bathroom. People have been known to wear adult diapers!
😵💫
Hi Dari, love your videos. You were asking about something you could sell on your channel. Have you thought about merchandising? So designing some kind of brand or logo and then selling stuff everyone buys such as t-shirts, hoodies, baseball caps etc... as you could get American made. Just a thought.
Good Day Dari,
What are your interests? What are some things, or ideas that you find interesting & exciting. We can start with that.
Thanks,
Kirk
I already have some ideas, I just wanted to listen what my community thinks to see what is matching
3:41 you said it was sweet but was his the same
I am so enjoying listeting your English unlike native speakers. I am from Russia and I understand every word you said. it is like honey for my ears. Do you have some difficulties speaking with locals ?
Thank you! 😃no, I don’t have any difficulties :)
I have driven thru 34th St. past Macy's. I'm from Central Pennsylvania. So New York is out of my comfort zone
when you said you haven't thought about being afraid of mass shootings are you saying that you haven't thought about it like about being scared because I know in the past you have mentioned about worrying about mass shootings in America
didn't you go to Poland? Bagels were invented there by jews yes its cultural in America but I don't know if you are thinking it's from America
You don’t like Chinese food?!?
Will you come to Azerbaijan?🇦🇿
Yeah, one day :)
It's been fun to watch your journey and experiences. One minor criticism if I may.... your accent seems (to me anyway) to getting worse and is harder for me to understand. I have to use close captioning. Maybe it is just you are talking so fast or something. Anyway - keep on keeping on.
That's so true why were you so cold..lol 30 degrees so be nothing for you Russian's..
I am sad that you are seeing America and its worst.
I am thankful this year for Dari's videos, as they are always fun and interesting. And I am thankful she received her scholarship to travel and study in the USA!
Wow, thank you! 🙏🏼✨
You’re right!
Very Happy Thanksgiving! ❤😊 It's for all of us! We are greatful for all who join us the USA in a good meal with friends and family. 😊
Happy holidays!

Thank you so much!
pls b safe my queen
Living it up...Glad for you.....
Have fun....
Can’t wait 😍
Another great installment. I enjoyed seeing NYC in the Fall season. It’s pretty cool to see international folks experiencing American culture.
Thanks
Thanks for your support!
4:27 I hope you don't mind a compliment about your butt, you have a perfectly shaped butt
omg the parade is amazing
Thank you so much!!
Fun fact, 10% of Americans can trace their lineage back to the first Pilgrims who landed on Plymouth Rock.
Hey my comment was deleted, but I wish someone would have told me more about this when I was younger. I wish I would have looked harder online, instead of just hanging out going to bars with friends, hoping to just run into somebody.
The deep deep reds in those maples in Long Island City were absolutely beautiful. I do miss home every now and again.
Добрый день. Расскажите, пожалуйста, как Вы справляетесь с работой и учебой в Университете? Тяжело? Сколько времени занимает работа?
2:31 They have all these other days to protest and one of the worst times is an event where they are doing something unrelated to the event, do they think that people will not be angry with them? Out of every other day they can protest which isn't going to do anything anyways they pick that day, that is ridiculous.
