There are only a limited number of resorts open at the moment and they opened this one early so had to give it a visit. First off-piste run this season so a bit more cautious but my challenge is to greatly improve my off-piste skills this season...
@@ChasingSnow I’ve been watching the Austrian resorts on Feratel web cams as they open or prepare to open, I think this weekend there will be more. That type of off piste looks like ‘ oh bugger I’m lost, I’d better just head down to work out where I am’
@@garyhill9723 Cool, I'm heading to Austria in a couple of weeks (hoping conditions are great), just about to check out some resorts in France next. I've been to this resort a few times and that second part of off-piste is the shortcut to the village otherwise it's generally a long walk back. You'll see in the next video of this resort, the blue route....
I've watched you go down some narrow trails, but this one was absolutely claustrophobic. That first pair of skiers you passed on the narrows, when they first came into view all I saw was a black mass with four legs. I thought there was a deer or moose on the trail. Kind of disappointed there was not. I agree with Gary. That off piste stretch looked like a lot of work.
The off-piste wasn't too bad for a season first, I think my new boots are helping, giving me much more solid support... I do cross some wild animals occasionally but haven't caught one while filming yet...
Beautiful place. The dog made me laugh-did he chase you? 😂 My boyfriend just got back from Hintertux in Austria. I haven’t gone through all your videos to see if you’ve skied there.
Yeah, I was chased but the dog just wanted to play even though it was growling. It's the second time we crossed paths. There's another video I'll release of the longer blue route where I come across the same dog, another chase :-) I have a few videos on Hintertux from early last season if you'd like to watch. Thanks for your feedback...
@@ChasingSnow can’t wait to see the dog again, he was cute! I will go watch your Hintertux videos! I was a little salty that I was unable to go (we are in US, east coast and still waiting for snow 😩😩😩)
@@jenniferlynne3314 Great, the next Marécottes video will probably come early next week. As you probably know, Hintertux is on a Glacier and offers all year skiing but I'm sure you will have other opportunities... Hope you get some snow soon, we are getting it all, too much as I'm looking for skiing days with good weather so I can film...
@@ChasingSnow yep! And I’ve already talked him into Cervinia and Zermatt-it’s actually cheaper for us to fly to Europe to ski than to fly to any western state here in the US. It’s both crazy and sad. Hope you can have a safe and enjoyable season!
@@jenniferlynne3314 Zermatt seems to be a popular destination for people from North America, and being one of the most expensive in Europe, (as you mentioned) still much cheaper than most in the US. We have 4000 resorts Euroope while North America has about 850... Cheers, and hope you get on those slope soon :-)
Yes, I take advantage of some passes to give me access to many resorts and discounts, mainly in Switzerland. Everywhere else I pay full price but choose my days, weather has to be good otherwise I just make videos...
Beautiful scenery, good snow and empty piste - perfection! Off piste too difficult for mere mortals like myself but good to watch.
Cheers Paul! Resort opened early so I took advantage...
Lovely quiet resort, the joy of early season skiing. The off piste looked like hard work though.

Thanks Andrew! :-)
Thank you so much for sharing with us….Hope to go there someday 😊 It’s great watching you !
Thanks Martin, it's a nice small village resort....

The narrow part reminded me of New England

wow how do you afford all these tickets? Are there multi-mountain passes like Epic/Ikon in the US?

Ski tickets in Europe are generally massively cheaper than the US.
