They fit perfectly down the silo of the Swiss Ranger Volcano stove, AKA . Snuffing it out may be tricky. I bought one at a surplus store last year for six bucks US. They had removed the matchbook for shipping regulation reasons. Some of those allegedly ignited while in a cargo hold or truck, and they were banned from including them henceforth.
Nice review - it looks like a useful stove. One thought - if the lid has any kind of o-ring to help seal the fuel once opened then if you use it to snuff the flame use the external side as it will stop the o-ring being damaged (much like how you need to be careful snuffing a Trangia with its screw lid.
Just found your channel. Good review. Many reviewers don't mention the soot. I always burn my jell out and then refill with denatured alcohol. Have refueled these stoves like over 20 times each. Purchased mine about 6 years ago when they were going for about $4. usd. Now Ebay, ect has them listed at $12. usd. No evaporation after this time....however, I have found that many of the cans filled at the factory do not contain the same about of gel. Some were only half full of gel. Quality control for purchase weight is very shabby.
I never realized you were supposed to light it i was drunk as a skunk in five minutes 😂a nice little emergency stove that doesn't take up a lot of room in your rucksack, good review.
Top it off with ethanol, give it a stir pop the lid back on and leave it for a day or two and it thickens up ,I’ve done this a lot with mine i love this stove
I use Fire Dragon gel blocks in them once the original gel is used up. I also cut the foil lid into four triangles that will fold up to act as a simmer device. I believe you can get something similar to the original gel called chafing gel or fluid. Cooks use it for dish warmers.🤓ah…….you said that in the video, should have watched it first!😩🤓

Good to know 👍
Any idea how long one of these stoves will burn for ?
Not to sure but it’s not that long it will do a meal or two
Nice vid. I looked on Amazon and the cheapest one I saw was $11. Too expensive for regular use but good for emergencies.
Totally agree bit over priced, glad u liked the video 👍
you can reuse the stove if you refill the gel.

The Trangia alcohol burner fits it and puts it at the 'right' height for cooking.................
Thanks that’s good to know 👍
