Thank you I love hearing Tim Snyder’s thoughts. Applying it to our current society I’m getting that it’s the other people’s freedom that can cause angry people to give up their own freedom (so we can all live in a dictatorship)
Dr. Snyder is one of my linguine faves! Just as religion was mythology in ancient times (Norse, Greek, Roman, Celtic, Egyptian, etc) it is still mythology today. No matter what name it is called or what “deity” is worshipped every religion (belief system) is manmade and every society believes their religion is the only true or correct one.. Everyone in the world would be much better off abandoning mythological beliefs and embracing reality. Mythologies are entertaining and can even convey some life lessons but, there has never been a deity who responded to the needs of mankind.
This is a wonderful example of thoughtful conversation. Thank you Dr. SNYDER!
He's an amazing guest, and a wise teacher. Glad you enjoyed!
Anywhere Timothy Snyder speaks, I am inspired by his intelligence + moral clarity, an ever rarer combination.
One of my favorite commentators. Thanks.

Thank you Tim, thank you Rev. A very good conversation without emojis, tho I suppose they will show up in the comments.
I so enjoyed the extended guardrails analogy - enlightening, frightening and funny - that takes talent :-).
Uuuhh... "resist the Devil and he will flee from you" I believe is the proper teaching from Scripture.
