I wonder how they trained the dinosaurs for these scenes. Incredible performance
Judging by some of the comments, there will be some in here who will give you an actual answer to this question, lol.
Are you kidding me? These aren't real dinosaurs, dummy. They're clearly large men in rubber suits.
Not really well-trained at all. It took a huge number of takes to get enough usable footage.

This prologue makes so much more sense after seeing the movie. They really should not have cut this as it reflects on two very important scenes later in the film.
@@adamdefilippi No it's completely cut out :/ same with the short film they did. Really strange because, without spoiling, these are only two scenes that touch on what it's like living with dinosaurs for normal civilians.
@@justafidemyself you’ve gotta be kidding me. Why is the drive thru scene cut
Agreed! I was mad they cut it out because it does reflect later on. But was also disappointed they cut out some scenes as well. I’m sure I’m a bonus feature we might get them? Or I’m hoping to!
I saw the official trailer a while back and saw a quick scene at the drive thru and I just came out of the theater and never saw that part. I asked my two kids if I missed it when I went to get soda and popcorn refill and they were like no that part never came out. This would've made the movie so much better.
This is so true after seeing it opening day this makes the story have so much more sense!
If they showed this in the movies, it would made the final battle even more epic because of rexy’s eyes
I hope they add it back for the blu Ray release
@@Sjr8313 That is exactly what I am hoping for as well
I made everyone watch this before they told us to silence our phones so they could have context other than 2 apex predators will fight

@@Sjr8313 i heard that collin trevaro said that he wants to release a directors cut that would include this and some other scenes that were cut
It’s a massive shame that this wasn’t the opening scene to Dominion, because it would’ve made a huge difference and would’ve made some certain scenes a lot more significant.
Yeah they cancelled like why bruh?
The movie as a whole was very disappointing. For a world with Dino’s all over and they worry bout grass hoppers more. The only scene I enjoyed was really the raptors chasing Owen.
“This isn’t about us”
The prologue wasn’t paleo accurate, and I’m not talking about the designs. There’s no way Giga and Trex would be able to meet since they lived at different times.
@@Bxl5 the battle in the beginning was impossible due to millions of years of time.

@@mlgbobby5901 no not at all
It was because Universal thought it would be a good idea to market the film using this
Because the movie makers don’t trust the audience.
Who knows, the reporter didn't even give enough exposition as to how there were so many dinosaurs in the wild after the 4 years since all the dinos were released from the Lockwood compound. From 25-30 dinosaurs to thousands of fully grown dinos is outrageous.
The camera movements, the shots of the creatures going about daily lives;
Instant nostalgic flashbacks to watching "Walking with Dinosaurs" over and over again as a child. Simpler times...

No it doesn’t. More destruction and killing = more hype.
I think that this prologue was absolutely necessary for the final cut of the film and it completely baffles me why it was cut. A simple 5 minute prologue that sets up plenty of species we’ll see throughout the film, as well as provides us with a unique and very documentary-esk Cretaceous period opening would definitely have garnered positive reactions from any moviegoer. I hope this prologue is implemented in a future, official release or extended cut of the film as I think it really does provide a lot for the film.

No idea why they cut this. I love the idea that Rexy's clone ancestor was killed by a Gigantosaurus, then 65 million years later, she evens the score. Awesome. And I love how her behavior at the drive-in really shows that these dinosaurs aren't monsters, just animals getting by in the world. When your theme is the consequences of genetic engineering it’s difficult to build a plot entirely about dinosaurs, especially when the first film used dinosaurs to promote the exact same theme. Nope. It's highly unlikely that the T-rex had feathers. Smaller theropods like the raptors did, but for a dinosaur the size of a T-rex it would be a disadvantage. Its size helps it stay warm, so feathers would only be needless waste of resources, especially since it would take a lot of feathers to cover such a big animal. Well, in a way, them not changing anything, and attributing it to the hybridization process of the cloning *is* a retcon.
It's not a retcon because Michael Crichton the original creator of the story clearly says in the novel (and it says in the first movie as well) that the new Dino's are spliced with frog DNA because it was impossible to create flawless DNA some parts had to be filled with other compatible animals

To everyone that was told this was the first 5 minutes of the movie, that is a lie. Nothing in this prologue appears in Jurassic World Dominion.
I know right! The opening wasn’t my favorite. It’s was meh.
All this for nothing. I was so disappointed and waiting to see this on the big screen. If they make a director’s cut and this in it yeah I’d watch it than the theatrical cut we got. Hopefully they next trilogy is better than this and hopefully it goes back to the source that made the first one good
@@andrewzapata9819 mate, there isn’t gonna be another trilogy 😂😂 and it was confirmed at the start of Dominion’s Production by Colin Trevorrow that this film would be the final entry in the Jurassic franchise, unless another studio decides to reboot Jurassic Park/Jurassic World which is highly unlikely, there won’t be another film so don’t keep your hopes up, i’m actually quite satisfied with the way Dominion ended, Finally brings a story to a close 28 years after the original, sorry 🤷🏻♂️
@@genowoolhead5728 Man are you so wrong. I've literally just read multiple interviews where Colin Trevorrow has said he is interested to see where future filmmakers take the series. Of course there is more films. At no point have they said this is is the end. This the end of the Jurassic saga. The endgame of the Jurassic series. More films to come. Universal aren't giving up on a billion dollar franchise.
What a waste. 2 hours of this would have been a dream come true. Instead we get the colossal Dino turd that was Dominion.
~SPOILERS!~
I think the locusts were used to discuss the ethical issues of genetic engineering AND to show how BioSyn wanted more money as they wanted to use the dinosaurs for pharmaceutical purposes. But yes, they could have certainly mentioned this was their intention with the dinos & locusts more to remind us viewers, & not feel like some deterrent as I understand why many people feel/felt that way. Additionally and most importantly, the film really wasn't what all the promotions had promised us - we believed it was going to be dinosaurs trying to adapt to humanity throughout America, & the encounters people have with them. I still enjoyed the film, but it would of course been better to get what we were lead to believe the film would be, and yes that premise honestly would've been more thrilling anyway.
With the animation ability and CGI levels, they could remake the Walking with Dinosaurs series. With more paleo-acurate depictions of the dinosaurs and more life like behaviours. I just think that it would be super awesome to see
Hehe, don't get your hopes up. Walking with Dinosaurs is a once a century type thing, I don't think we'll see a project like that again.

I like how the ancient Rexy had proto-feathers and the current one doesn't because it wasn't a complete genome and was filled with frog DNA. Nice detail I approve.
Exactly
nice completely wrong detail.
This 05 minutes are so much better than the entire movie
If this had played in the actual film, it would’ve been a great opening. And it would’ve been really cool to have Rexy have a flashback(for the sake of the audience) to this loss to add more weight to their battle.
bruh why tf would *she have a flashback. its not like all dinosaurs minds were linked
Yes, the opening is stunning.. But can we appreciate how the guy in the helicopter could miss that big of a (almost static) target and immediately lose it afterwards??
im assuming the t-rex moved into the hei's blindspot and then into the woods
It is also night time so...
I thought the same thing, pretty poor shot.
The gunner also says "keep it steady" so likely the pilot could not then.
Yeh well he has to miss...Otherwise there won't be a film ey?

@@ksoundkaiju9256 assuming after the events of jurassic park they stopped using frog dna to fill in the gaps in the dinosaur dna
This is how Jurassic world should have opened
I was disappointed when they didn’t play this opening
This 5 min prologue was way better than the entire movie. They should have included this in the movie.
This movie was delicious 😋.
I love how, in the past, they actually showed the trex covered in semi feathers/fur. While in the present, its pretty much bald
Solidifying the fact that they heavily modified the extinct animal and made it lose some of their old traits!
True because t rex originally has features like most of therapods in cretaceous era
In the first movie, it was explained that they needed to fill in the missing dna gaps with frog DNA. That's because they samples they got from the mosquito were incomplete.
For me, it looks like they just slapped fur on the original model without actually changing the anatomy to be more accurate. There's no rock-hard evidence that Tyrannosaurus rex even had dinofuzz and we even have scale impressions from all throughout the body. I think if they had lost the dinofuzz, added lips, non-pronated wrists, and changed the skull structure, then it would have done a better job.
@@theway289 Thats was convenient lol. In truth they still weren't sure how much heritage dinosaurs and birds shared from a genetic point of view at the time Jurassic Park was made in 1993. The bird thing was still a hypothesis then and also I think the idea of dinosaurs as big lizards is so ingrained in peoples imaginations that a giant feathery t-rex may not compute with some people just yet.
Yup. That’s always been one of the main points of the novels and the films. Just because science was able to bring these animals back to life doesn’t mean they’re 100% like they used to be.
65 million years in the making... they must have had a lot of time to make it look this good
Indeed it looks like something that I watched from those documents about dinosaurs but better cgi
@@slimyanimations9261 no they real, but the fight scenes are animatronics because its animal cruelty if they dont

This scene is better than anything we have ever seen for Dinosaurs, period. This is reminiscent of the Lion King and Jungle Book live action movies.
This opening should have been kept
THE EXTENDED CUT IS GONNA HAVE A REXY HAVING A FLASHBACK OF THE PAST OH MY GOD, THIS IS GONNA BE EPIC!
It was 1 second
I never imagined they would give us such a treat. To show us the time "When dinosaurs ruled the earth"
It's easy to forget, dinosaurs were everywhere!!
Every time I see something about dinosaurs, it’s always baffling to me that we stand where they once roamed.
But i think they had more feathers?
What bothered me is that the end of Fallen Kingdom and the marketing for Dominion, tried to sell us on the idea that we would get a movie where humans would be adapting to dinosaurs roaming the earth. It's false marketing. It's about locusts. There has also been a lot of cuts. The previously released Prologue and Short Movie, which were supposed to be the opening of this movie are just completely gone. Ironically those were the only moments where we saw humans adapting to the dinosaurs. Instead we get a quick 30second exposition montage in the beginning of the movie and that's it, seriously that shot from Mososaurus from the trailer is the literal screentime of that scene. I was expecting this huge action scene on the boat. Almost the entire movie takes place in a facility in the mountains. Which begs the question: why release the dinosaurs worldwide, call it Dominion, only for most of the movie taking place in a remote and closed nature facility? It doesn't make sense, especially when the dinosaurs are not even the main threat to the planet in this movie.

Bro I just saw the movie and I coudnt agree more lmao
I was mad about this comment at first but now I kind of agree

I actually miss this kind of movie, so happy to see these dinosaurs AGAIN. The teaser already looks EPIC.
I agree
Ugh, they said they had to cut it for time because the first act was getting so long, setting up all the characters.
I love the video of dinosaurs just existing, then contrast to them in our world. That's cool. Way better than the news reporter giving us the exposition like they did
For real and it's dumb why they cut it like no one wants to see people talk through out the movie and I think that's the issue
Oh come on what's an extra 5 minutes
The Prologue>Jurassic World Dominion
I LOVE how they added a more scientific accurate look to the dinosaurs in the flashback and kept the "original" Jurasic Park designs for the animals from Isla Nublar/Isla Sorna!
Yeah-we finally have feathered dinosaurs in a jp movie! The only downside is that the setting sun makes it a little too dark.
I avoided watching this because I didn't wanna spoil the movie for myself because I thought this would be in the movie. 😐
Ikr, lmao
Heck, my mother did this.
Same lol
Me too! I played myself!!!!
Someone will need to edit the Prologue back into the movie version, when Dominion releases on DVD/Blue-Ray
Love the proto feathers on the Rex in the opening sequence. Very cool how they used more scientifically accurate designs for the original dinosaurs while still using the popular Jurassic park designs for present day. It shows how when the scientists filled the gaps in the DNA some things turned out differently than the original animals. Very good
Also. Dr Wu mentions in the previous movie how the dinosaurs were modified genetically to look bigger, cooler have more teeth.
That is mostly true, except for the giganotosaurus. They really screwed up getting him scientifically accurate.
@@Crimsonking741 They screwed up everything though. Only the Dreadnougthus and Quetzalcoatlus are wrong on a level that's understandable, all the rest is really just a case of "how a person who doesn't know how these dinosaurs look like would make these dinosaurs look like", but that's what we're used from these new movies.
@@robinliesens7983 Amen to that lol.
@@Crimsonking741 the only thing innacurate about giga here is pretty much just the spikes
Without a doubt, this scene might already be the highlight of the film; seeing the Mesozoic landscape in its prime within the Jurassic World universe in itself feels so refreshing and it captivates the majestic, deadly and larger than life feeling we are meant to get from dinosaurs.
Lacks paleo-accuracy with the time placement of the dinos and the designs, but its definitely a start.
A shame it might be the last JP and dino movie for a long time.

I really wish that they hadn't cut this prologue. I was really excited to see more of what happened after this.

@@mercenaryknight5419 looked pretty steady to me... he also told them to "keep it steady." IMHO he missed a point blank shot and the real issue is that it's just lazy script writing. It would seem to me that the people chosen to shoot dinos out of helicopters maybe should have some practice shooting out of helicopters... people shoot hogs out of helis and they're like 1/10 the size.
My exact thoughts
@Marvel'sDoctorEd 2 Coast Guard has trained gunners in helicopters that to the same thing, black of night, no cinema lights (cause it's the middle of the ocean) against a fleeing tiny motor boat (usually loaded with illegal drugs), and they shoot out the outboard engine from a heli that's in pursuit of the boat instead of hovering gently and from a much farther range. They almost never miss that shot when they're giving permission to take it.

Hey reading this for 1 minute might change your life
This proves why we think a God exists. Read on even if you believe in God it will only take 1 minute please.
God had to of create time; and time has a beginning, middle, and end. So God has no beginning as time doesn't apply to him before he created it.
Please just believe God exists that is all I ask.
What created the universe? This wouldn't apply to God as God teaches it always existed and God created time so God had no beginning.
Please continue reading below, I only mean for your own good :)
Who created stars and planets if life created itself what created black holes, stars, comets, planets, lava, water, trees, the complex human brain, dreams, hallucinations, etc.
Some refute God with all the suffering in the world, but that is not right. God teaches for every difficulty he honors the person in the next life adequately. And every person suffering would actually prefer to suffer for what they get in the next life. Would you suffer from starvation for 5 years for a million dollars?
Please read below.
These points really proved a God could exist to us and the point of this message isn't to convert you but just show how a God exists and get you to believe it could and not worship it.
I suggest you also believe in God for great reward. You don't spend / lose anything and you will get rewarded a lot.
If you want to know more on how to worship God (you can worship for 5 minutes even to better your paradise) for more great reward in the hereafter please visit atheismisover.com and see point 4 but read the site all it will take 2 minutes. Imagine a million times the flavor of your favorite food. In paradise you get what you want so wouldn't you want to worship God to make your paradise better?
God says if you knew the reward for worship you would do it crawling in the dawn time.
Please share this message with family and friends for great reward as giving invitation to God has great reward in the next life. Remember the reward for worship? It's nothing compared to that. Copy this message and share it in the link below:

Rexy is the pioneer of this franchise
The best part of this was the ending. I like that the Rex isn’t acting like some monster and eating everyone in sight. She’s just a big ol bird lizzer who just happened to show up at the wrong place at the wrong time. The only people who (maybe) died in that whole scene was that guy who got hit by the car. As for the Cretaceous scene, yeah, it’s extremely inaccurate. Giganotosaurus and T-Rex would have never crossed paths, T-Rex (likely as an adult) didn’t actually have feathers, and Oviraptor (even though it looks amazing) probably didn’t steal eggs. Still extremely excited for this movie though.
The biggest inaccuracy being the T. rex is basically just the same Rexy model just with some feathering (which is ironically up for debate)
Idk I kinda wish she was eating everything in sight. Makes her more scary and threatening. Feel like the newer movies watered her down.
