Have just started reading "There There". Am having difficulty getting through the swear words. I was married 24 years to a first nations Ojibwe man (from Manitoba), until he died from kidney/liver failure from alcohol. What we whites did to natives way back caused generational fallout. My dear husband was deeply damaged. Even though even my grandparents were not even born then, I feel the guilt. I am a white woman in Alberta, where the original peoples spoke Blackfoot and Cree. I am learning the Blackfoot language and a little Cree. Those are beautiful, meaningful languages. Kita'i'kimmohpoaawa.

So refreshing. He is so humble, & he really speaks to my experiences as an urban indigenous person. Karuk Pride✊🏻

This was fantastic. Thankful to be able to view it later like this. I read There, There while also reading Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee. A one, two combo to the heart and mind.
