You are a Man of Gold. You are not only talented in music and keyboard, you are a very wise man in learning, in teaching and in life. I wished I had known and learned from you decades ago since my younger days. Still, I'm really glad and lucky to have come across your videos. Thank you again.
I was asked to play piano on a ballad once and I remember distinctly using this to move from the chorus to the bridge. That made this a favorite move of mine.
It *could*, but there are many other important topics that need your attention as well! As you'll find out, getting better in *some* things makes you better at *other* things as well.
Great lessons as always, I'm looking forward to more. I do wish you also provided exercise sheets. Coming back to a video repeatedly doesn't flow well in my practice. But that's just my personal way of functioning
Hey. It's always a decision: Do I spend X hours making a PDF few people will download, or record another video? I'm not sure there's a good answer, but I will say that actually pausing the video and copying down ideas is a great way to internalize them, so I tend to lean towards making more videos.
Wow thank you for this, man! This is exactly what I've been needing, and it just dropped into my notifications with perfect timing! One question, why did you not use the 5th finger for the scale pattern? Is that just standard practice for Eb major, or for all scales? I would have thought using all fingers would be better practice..?
No: Different scales often have different fingering patterns, especially dependent on the presence of black keys. The Eb for example starts with the 3rd finger, while e.g. C major starts with the 1st (thumb). Once you start with the third, try to work out a fingering that involves the 5th - you will find out that it's virtually impossible.
Hi sir. I want to learn chord progressions , preludes and Interludes for every song. Could you please make a video and upload it on RUclips if you wish to?
Hi sathvikeve. That's a very broad range of topics ... Surely doesn't fit in a video. I am working on a Jazz Piano course that I hope to upload in September at some point, so stay tuned and that might answer your question.
Someone please help find that piano player who makes songs from complex piano playing like POLYPHIA DOES WITH GUITAR , HIS name starts with Z,,please help
I initially thought you were saying the on-screen keyboard were *visually* misaligned ... Read what Simon said. What you're seeing on the virtual keyboard also reflects the use of the sustain pedal. Without it, it would be very difficult to follow, because what you would see on the screen would not match what you *hear* with your ear.
@MangoldProject The melody in exercise 2 is the Space Quest theme. I love your channel!
Oh yeah. You got yourself pinned.

My pleasure!
Billy Joel uses octaves in the right hand to push from the verse to chorus in "Moving Out" and I have always loved that transition. So much energy.

I love the approach that is presented here !! Thanks so much!
The first time you dropped the Eb Scale, with the triad in the left hand, it was so good it made me laugh out loud!
Thanks for this free lessons👍👏
You're welcome. But nothing is free on RUclips, they make you watch ads :)
What a treasure trove! Should keep me busy for the next decade.

Always informative lessons. My I’ve missed you and am so happy you’re back in full swing ❤️😊
Just wait for what's coming ... A full Jazz piano course! (If I can get off my lazy butt to complete it)
@@MangoldProject We will be here whenever you’re ready🥰
Thank you for your superb videos. God bless you always.
My pleasure!
Amazing tips as always.
You're the best!
Thank you!
Thanks! Glad it helped you out.

@@MangoldProject Ah awesome, thanks :)
Merci
Superb video. Thank you so much. The chord you play at 11:30 is I guess a A7#5#9b9b5 right? Genius!
It's built on the altered scale, where all degrees are flattened and sharpened. It's a "common" way of getting rich sounding dominant chords.
I will be there
awesome tutorial, though i find it a little distracting that the keys don't match up exactly =D
Thanks. This is the best compromise I found between what you see and what you hear ... I hope you will get used to it in time.

If MangoldProject stole my girl I wouldn't even be mad.
In that case, I'm on it!

Your piano is not in alignment with virtual keyboard
It's highlighting the notes to "be played". And remains highlighted temporarily, So we know what notes were played previously which is super helpful.
