The Lakers didn't have home-court advantage, a Sacramento-area hotel gave Kobe food poisoning after Game 1 on the road, Shaq shot 1 FREE THROW in Game 5, and the Lake Show still took the series in 7.
Looking for uploads of Laker intros from the 80's. Lawrence Tanter "And the Captian, Ka - reem Abdul Jabbarrrrr" Celtic ones from the 80's too. Can't find them.
What a beautiful franshise team and the best in the nba history but whatever happened to the fans when everyone in staples center used to where all gold? now everything looks different but as long as we sheering for the lakers it's all good! GO LAKERS!
Oh please….Portland missed 13 straight wide open shots in the 4th quarter. That wasn’t the Lakers doing the choking. The was the Blazers gagging on their own after having a 15 point lead with 10 minutes remaining.
But just bc Utah were southwest division champs. Portland had the homecourt advantage against them in the 2nd round withbetter results in regular season
lets be honest if these laker coaches coaching staff with players kept their cool never let petty things get to them they would have had over 19 larry o brien championship trophies plus rings and that would be 30 for their glorious organization and the other teams would have zero championships to this day real facts
The good ol' days when the NBA was fun to watch and not just because the Lakers were good. Today's rules sometimes makes it an unwatchable product. I miss the NBA when contact was inevitable in the sport and how laughable today's fouls or even flagrant fouls are called. Pippen checking the oppositon defensively all over the court , KG talking smack, an in-shape Shawn Kemp dunking everytime on Alton Liston, LOL! and or Shaq destroying the rim after running thru people. Men playing basketball and not placating to certain demographics. I get it though its a business.
What about the closing 2 minutes of Game 5 when the Kings knocked the ball out of bounce but it was called on the Lakers. On that same possession, Peja hit a 3pter. Not to mention the last play of the game when Bobby Jackson was pulling on Kobe's jersey while he took that last shot. Kings win Game 5 by 1pt thanks to a bad call and a no call.
No it wasn't, ya blithering dumbshit. He was with the NBA on NBC until the end after 2002..sure, it was the end of the Costas era as far as PBP duties go, which he did for 3 seasons, this 2000 season being the last, but that's it. Bob was okay, but we all know Marv was the greatest..
Oh man, you gotta love the Bob Costas intros for NBA on NBC, they were the best.
TheSalty CBS was way better with Brent Musburger. 81-88. (Great song). 89 they changed song.
@@paulpatane2439 What song did they use?
Game that changed it all MOVING FORWARD adelante Kobe
One of the greatest games I've ever watched. Go Lakers :)
I completely forgot the Blazers almost went to the Finals that year and how stacked they were - they probably would have beat Indiana, too.
Scottie Pippen was the only player who knew how to defend against the triangle, after all, he played it for years.
3:00 The Los Angeles Lakers! Brought to you by THX
Shaw and Kobe looked locked in during the player intro. They understood what was at stake.
Back when Staples was really rocking!
Staples Center with the lights on > Staples Center with the old Forum look
i like how bob costos says "scotti pippen looking for his first outside Michael Jordan's Shadow"
Kobeeeee!
YO THESE WERE THE FUCKING DAYZ RIGHT HERE YO!
The Lakers didn't have home-court advantage, a Sacramento-area hotel gave Kobe food poisoning after Game 1 on the road, Shaq shot 1 FREE THROW in Game 5, and the Lake Show still took the series in 7.
Let's talk about game 6
Lawrence Tanter is retiring after 40 years man, how crazy 😢 THE VOICE
Cant wait for a Documentary

This was when Portland is a very good team and i like them back then (even the current Blazers team now)
They had an All-Star team.

"Celebrating 40 years in LA"
Damn its 50 now, has it really been that long?
60 this year
61 now, jeez
20 years of ups, downs, and winning...
Amazing series
Yeah, nobody seems to remember that Shaq shot 1 freakin' free throw in that game.
What a beautiful franshise team and the best in the nba history but whatever happened to the fans when everyone in staples center used to where all gold? now everything looks different but as long as we sheering for the lakers it's all good!
GO LAKERS!
this is fucking amzing
fucking. amazing.
shame on abc. they ruined the nba.
It's called DEFENSE.
Portland didn't choke, they WERE CHOKED.
Oh please….Portland missed 13 straight wide open shots in the 4th quarter. That wasn’t the Lakers doing the choking. The was the Blazers gagging on their own after having a 15 point lead with 10 minutes remaining.
im a huge laker fan ans phil jackson fan but i just wonder what if pip won 2 with out jordan would people be saying he the best ever
Portland and the Lakers were the #3 and #1 seeds that year.
Who was the #2 seed in the 2000 playoffs?
Utah Jazz
But just bc Utah were southwest division champs. Portland had the homecourt advantage against them in the 2nd round withbetter results in regular season
damn I was ready to watch the game
anyone know the name of the song that's played in the first 30 seconds?
@TexasBALLA94 The song is "Love Like This" by Faith Evans
so its phil and scottie on opposing teams
You edited the out "Roundball Rock"? You fail!
lets be honest if these laker coaches coaching staff with players kept their cool never let petty things get to them they would have had over 19 larry o brien championship trophies plus rings and that would be 30 for their glorious organization and the other teams would have zero championships to this day real facts
RIP kobe
what is the song in the background during the blazers intro?
Faith Evans - Love Like This
Where is the part where they say "This is the NBA on NBC"?
always loved how that announcer said shaqs name

Pure class
I thought I was watching the whole game until the vid ended lol
@StraitMoney24 Thank you!
RIP EDDIE VAN HALEN!
This video was released a month before I was born
actually tha game was back in 2000 lol
what is the name of the lakers song?
Propellers - Skybreak
The Blazers intro was Faith Evans' Love Like This
look at that crowd, what happened L.A?
At this time, they hadn't sniffed the finals in almost 10 years. 2008/09 crowd was electric too.
5 in Minneapolis
3:02. Classic
Anyone know what song plays at 1:30? Stop the moving?
Santana - Maria Maria (could be a remix, do not know if)
for the FIRST 30 seconds? no its not..
The Kobe-Shaw Laker era should have had AT LEAST 4 rings.....smh.
Could've been 5 if both Kobe and Shaq didn't act like babies. They had a chance in 2003. Kobe was playing out of his mind.
e3erockstar08 Fucking Disrespectful. It was the Shaq Era.
no one hungry anymore.
The Suns are def starving
....and then they CHOKED!!!!
This was real NBA basketball. Actual defence, limited 3 pointers, and no woke players.
I'm assuming you all are lakers fans? -.-
@prodiggy13 they used to be in the twin cities
Whos here because of nba 2k22
It was 11 nba tile not 6 like
He said
Loth Angeleth Lakerth. haha nah i like this guy (when hes paired with good music)

@mrtamnus1 The Fro lol
AURA
The end of the Bob Costas era. Shame really. Probably the greatest commentator to call the NBA.
#JailBlazers
@jlb02034 Marv Albert is good, but not anywhere near as good the Cos.
we have a sucky game announcer...his introduction to the players aren't lively like the announcer for the cavs or pistons...
because tha Lakers ownership don't want a hypeman as a PA announcer
what a lame intro for the lakers
kobe and shaq deserved a better PA this one sucks
Wrong. Lakers' Lawrence Tanter = class. He doesn't sound like those hyper clown announcers that most teams have. This is the NBA, not WWE.
+TheHaloRed yeah but as a Lakers fan i want a clown like Mason.
he's been tha Lakers announcer since 1983
Lakers need a new PA announcer.
