With the Sprint cancel I assume Transversive Steps be a good pairing.
I'm not sure if you know this but there's another way to reset your draw and redraw on a bow. If you hit the draw cancel button and immediately try to draw again, it'll be a full draw. You must full draw once for it to work but it's super useful for keeping LeMonarche's perk active.

idk dude. I have seen others use it. When i used it in the beginning, I was wondering what was going on with it lol. After using it more there is a clear way to use it. If you don't use it that way you will get dunked on fast.

Smart pistol but better
Another visual indicator if you aren't very aware if your target is marked is that the rail on top of the gun glows red. So if you aren't sure if you marked your target when sliding to cover or turning a corner, the gun will visually change to notify you.
Also, this gun is confirmed to be the strongest primary DPS weapon in the game right now. The unraveling rounds/nanites add so much to the DPS. 12k-18k per bullet at a fast 10 round burst is 120k-180k if you are starting off a DPS phase and quick swapping to something like Cascade point weapons.
Guess we'll have to see, sidearms in general have generally been some of the best dps weapons on paper in the game, but extremely dependent on encounter when rangefall off happens and kills a lot of the momentum.
Better than outbreak? Hmmm, also gutted if your target is at a range

Coolguy, you don't need to double swap to reset the bow, just tap your reload button then immediately start charging again, it lets you bypass most of the draw time and it reduces your downtime when going for the perfect shot
That double swapping was painful to watch lol

Once I realized that it's primarily a charge weapon and secondarily semi auto, the gun finally clicked for me.
Also, the spinning bit at the back is actually a set of hooks and green thread, like it's weaving the bullet as you fire.
Also I always have so many buffs up I've never noticed the perk pop up.
Another small tech for PvE: You don't have to have the whole burst be hip fire or ADS. You can change mid-burst. I've used this to break a shield using the bonus body shot damage and then ADS afterwards once the crit spot was available. Not crucial to use, but on higher level difficulty, something like this could be the difference between killing in one burst or needing an extra tap shot.
I love how analytical you are of weapons and how you spend time truly testing a weapon to its full potential. Understanding its strengths and weaknesses. Definitely have some of the best weapon reviews.
There is another way to run lobbies with it in the crucible, which you didnt mention: using the targeted hipfire. Once you acquire a target you can use the tap fire and the bullets still track. So you hold til its red and then tap til theyre dead. Its best to do this while strafing or flying so that your shots kill while theirs miss. Works like a charm
It's such a good weapon for people who can't multitask aiming and moving well, I love using this thing
Swapping weapons and sprinting works for cancelling a bow draw, but pressing reload is both easier, faster and lets you reach perfect draw quicker.
Fully charging the burst gives all bullets in said burst unraveling rounds, so it’s basically an anti-barrier all on its own
Also, just press the reload button to cancel the draw on a bow. It saves a lotta time instead of hot-swapping back and forth.
I thought it was some type of animation cancel, but I don't use bows.
This gun looks like what happened when you try to use ai to generate a gun. I like it, it's certainly unique
we did, our guardian mixed that spectrometer whatever thing with strand and neomuna's nanites/quicksilver stuff and it spat this out

I haven't tried it out in the crucible yet but the instant I noticed you don't have to fully charge the burst I had a feeling it was going to be amazing. I can see a lot of people really disliking this way of playing but luckily for me I'm already a fan of both bows and sidearms.
This video singlehandedly has changed my perception and ability to use this gun well.
I’m more concerned about you doing a double swap with a bow instead of just hitting reload to cancel the draw.

Great Vid! One thing I didn't' hear you explicitly say but you showed was that after you get the target to turn red you aim, going from hipfire to aim down sights
As a last word user I can say this gun speaks to me. Anything I can keep at my hip most of the time is a big fat win to me

I tried using mechaneers but stompee offers way more benefits with this sidearm
A tip some may find useful that I have found when using the gun in pvp is playing corners and just play chicken with people on the radar, make them peak you and hold charge sprint cancel and hold again and you will always be able to release when they peak you and they basically can’t fight back

I just got this and I immediately realized that there was something really good about this thing. I was not quite using it correctly but I was close. Your videos perfect spot on and actually I didn’t think it would work for adds clear but I’m gonna give it a shot. And obviously PVP as well. Great video. Awesome instructions
5:18 I used to do the double swap method with a bow but I now cancel the draw with the reload button allowing you to keep the bow out without dealing with swapping nerf with bows. I wish Bungie built a cancellation method to the gun similar to the bow.

It’s got a permanent spot in my strand loadout, I love it so much. My only complaint is that it doesn’t seam to have anti barrier from the artifact

I knew people were using it wrong, I kept seeing different charge times.
I just reached 30,000 kills with Final Warning and let me just say from experience, This sidearm is a beast. Its Intrinsic Trait works so good with Strand builds. Its the king of sever and unravel.

Watch out for using damage numbers on minors, damage on kill is always slightly higher than damage on hit. The killing blow always artificially says it deals more.

It's not; you actually need to aim and practice.
But I cannot wait to use it in PVE and do some dope ass airshots with it.

I want this gun really bad. What the charge reminds me of is Mccree's ult. You wait til the skull fully charged then release. Holding longer is overkill. Holding not long enough doesn't get you a kill. I can guarantee you that bungie made the box turn red as soon as you can kill a target in pvp.

Reload cancels a drawn bow shot, no need to double swap.
I’m a new player so I don’t have many exotics but I was actually surprised with how good some of the pistols are. Usually pistols are trash in other games I play but running a bow pistol has been more fun than using a machine gun

It should be noted, ads dps with this thing is higher than 6x stacked outbreak. It’s up there with the goooooooood primary dps weapons, while being phenomenal for add clear.

Using bows on keyboard and mouse will say is a little bit easier because you can quick release and draw.
So if you're holding down The mouse button would you want to do is keep it held Press r and ask your finger comes off the r button. Let go and re-click your mouse. It does feel a little bit strange at first but makes a world of a difference.
Lots of people dogging on this gun saying its bad, yet they just dont know how to use it. gone flawless with it multiple times, its more than capable
Amazing in PvE in my opinion and I really enjoyed it even just tap firing with it in PvP. Just around amazing side arm with amazing Strand synergy

This weapon works so well against Wyverns (probably the hardest non-boss enemy in the game). Suspend them to open their crit spot and ADS fire. It ERASES them. ADS works on Tormentor shoulders too, one bursts them on Legendary.

I'd probably compare it more to a Fusion Rifle than a bow, since you can't really hold the charge for that long

You have it right. People who think it's bad or mid haven't used it long enough to learn it. I thought it was disappointing at first, but I kept using it out of spite for the disappointment. Then something clicked, and found myself using it "as intended" and now I'm melting nightfalls and legendary lost sectors with it and strandlock.
I’m a bit confused why does he charge in hip fire and then ADS? Why not just charge on ADS (if you’re single targeting).
Does charging it hip and then ADS cause it to get both the tracking and velocity?

I've just acquired and tried the gun in PVP since i am PVP main, and first match went terrible, than i looked at this video, and things got clearer😂main thing, as Cool guy says, as soon as the aiming frame turns red you release immediately, that is the key, bodies just started falling as woods😂fun gun, took out 2 guys arround corner, very funny example😊
