Getting rid of options that made people choose their products in the first place (Samsung getting rid of the micro sd card slot on flagship and high end models comes to mind) making absolutely boring shit (Mitsubishi). End of day, most people wouldn't know how to actually run these companies, but at least they wouldn't be so out of touch with what the people want.

I think the last really "sporty" Corolla we got in the states was the 05-06 XRS, which had the Lotus Elise powertrain in it. I figured it was Toyota's pathetic typical method of slapping on 90's style aftermarket-looking body kit parts and considering it a new/improved model. (LOL hey I am aware that Porsche has played that game from time to time also.) In my mind a Corolla was for the poor souls who just didn't give a shit what kind of driving experience they got.
Now comes along some new GR stuff in my youtube. People yapping about how great it is. And I'm like, a Corolla? So I watch some, and I'm suitably impressed. But I'm wondering if it's just a hotrodded Corolla of old, or is it actually a better car now than I remember? It's beautiful car but RUclips journalist, please stop saying it's a good price, maybe in a perfect world. Everybody KNOWS you are NOT touching this car for $35k-$40! I love this and the new Type R i think Toyota and Honda both did a wonderful job. My biggest concern is it will literally price itself out of desire. Dealer's will be asking north of $50k for these and at that point the you might as well just get a lightly used BMW M2 competition if you're looking for a "drivers car"

Sure it doesn't have 3 AWD modes, and could use some buttons, but it's priced right at the circuit pack and is a far nicer place to be, a better DD for the 99% of the time you're not on track, and actually feels like you're in a 45-50k car.
