There is a large gap in the assumption all these new electric taxis are using electricity generated by winds and solar panels. That is far from reality. The reality is VN is very short of electricity. Since all green-energy sources are operating at peak capacities to power the country's growing industrial manufacturing facilities. More electric taxis means that they have to operate more thermal generation plants running on coal, oil and natural gas. Those are deadly to the environment since they produce prodigious amounts of CO2, which in turn accelerate climate change. The link between new electric taxis and climate change is well understood by environmental experts but it's not up to them to stop green taxis.
