I don't think Al knows how funny he is. He said he was more comfortable writing funny music, because if they didn't like the jokes they could always rock out on the music. I love his funny songs, but his humor is great without it, too.
I listen to him on podcasts and he's hilarious. There's a video of him on The Late late show with Craig Ferguson and it's the funniest thing I've ever seen.
I saw Al twice on his last Vanity Tour and loved it when he stopped to say a few words.
I really like Al's humor as he's matured. When he talks during the show, it adds so much, funny or not, it makes him more relatable as a person. I loved it on the rare occasions when he had a little banter with Jim. I hope he talks more on this latest tour and includes his band mates, it really fleshes out the Weird Al experience. A break during the music with anecedotes or whatever, makes the songs more powerful.

What program do you use to get the audio waves to show up on screen like that?
I use Shotcut. It's free, but it took me years to get used to the interface

Also theres something VERY funny about him stopping a song mid-performance to say something and the immediately going back to the song without missing a _beat_
