Beyoncé does some crazy things sometimes. I don't think she is appreciated enough for the amount of hard working she has consistently put in here after year to create such unique experiences. Whenever pop culture feels a little dull, uninspired, notice how Beyoncé is not there.
A while back we were blessed with RENAISSANCE, her previous house album that was specifically labeled as an "act 1". We now have an idea of what act 2 is, and to everyone's surprise, is going down south and becoming country. This is a direction I wouldn't say is concerning, but definitely raises some eyebrows while also being exciting. This isn't completely new for Bey, but it certainly wasn't where I thought she would go next. Innovation and breaking new grounds is always encouraged, so let's see where these tracks go.... enjoy the reaction.

I think the 16 carriages is supposed to represent her tour buses. She is singing about how she grew up and her journey through touring. How she is tired, working hard even missing her family but she’s not going to fold under pressure.
She has done songs like this in the past that I like so I'm here for it. That's why you're beautiful -> daddy lessons -> 16 carriages. 2008, 2016, and now again in 2024. I'm glad people are discovering this side of Beyonce and thoroughly enjoying this sound from her.
I am not a Beyonce fan, but she is going to clean the floor with the rest of her music selections from this point on. Nobody will be able to deny her her place in music history when gets finished.
I think Texas Hold em is the first track off the album . So I’m guessing it’s a very “cliche” country song to introduce the 2nd act. 16 carriages is the 2nd track on the album. Which I guess is kind of a contrast. I love both but 16 carriages made me cry after my second listen (first listen is always shock 😂) lol something about clinging onto ur dreams for dear life just hits it home for me.
The renaissance is a three part project, reclaiming genres curated by the black community one album at a time. Act i, house. Act ii, Cuntry😝 Act iii, Rock. All titled Renaissance meaning rebirth. She’s nothing short of a genius.
Texas Hold em is telling a story about put your feelings out there. No more playing games.

Go do your research on country music if you didn’t know, country music was originally started by African-Americans !
