  • Special Bonus! Extra value! You get TWO today - this one could not be allowed to stay on the shelf, it is too good. Massey-Ferguson 35X on scraping duties on a local dairy farm. 1964 at the latest, is my guess. That makes it 47 years old - and I used to drive these in my youth!

    This brings back a good few memories Alan!! Starting it from the side before grabbing a handful of straw, or hessian sacks to sit on!! We didn't have a 35x, but bought a brand new IMT 539 ( Yugoslavian 35x copy) in 1982, for yard duties, and more. Worked hard for many years!!

    • @balmesh
      @balmesh  4 года назад +2

      Thanks Phil. Did you find the IMT any different from a 35?

    • @philclarke3203
      @philclarke3203 4 года назад

      No, it was exactly the same, only with modern road lights and a roll bar.

    I used to love the sound of my 135 because it sounded so eager! That's the effect of the three cylinders, I suppose? The seats, well, I think my one was about 1960 - brand new when it was allocated me.

    I think the older ones are so much better because they are so much easier to drive and use than the new ones with all their tech stuff but in saying that I have never driven a new one before but I have sat in one.

    Which do you think is better a Ferguson TE20 or a MF 35?I have a TED20 but I still think the MF 35 is better.

    • @stoneylonesomefarm2116
      @stoneylonesomefarm2116 8 лет назад +1

      +Thecupcakerat 1 The TE20 was more popular than the 35 but the TE20's transmission was not very good so personally i think the MF 35 is better.

    • @Rev-Counter
      @Rev-Counter 8 лет назад

      The TE20 was a revolutionar tractor as Ferguson invented the three point linkage system now common on almost every tractor. I do prefer the 35 though - it has a better gearbox and generally feels much nicer to drive. We have three but only one works so far!

    • @Rev-Counter

    • @ferguson20diesel49
      @ferguson20diesel49 6 лет назад

      I've a ferguson 20 the downfalls are no dual clutch not the Easiest to start gearbox is good for ploughing but not good for bringing a trailer of turf 3rd gear to 4 gear is too much of a jump. But once you get rolling it's very fast mine will do nearly 40 k
