Thank you! I have been using the old-style Dremel barrel for many years and it is exactly as you say -- very difficult to use. This past week I said enough is enough. So I bought the new EZ LOK drum -- but there where no instructions on how to remove the drum! Duh! Dremel folks wake up!! Your video explained it all. Thanks....
Was it hard to cut a breyer up at first?? Lol. I want to do it I’m just hesitant doing it, I’d feel bad cutting one up. I love horses and breyers❤️ But want to see how it comes out😅
Have you tried a flex shaft? Because if not, oh my god, they're life changing. I absolutely hate holding the rotary tool (I have a knockoff too, woo!) to use it, but the flex shaft is amaaaaaazing. Thanks for this video, I totally need to pick up some of the Dremel sanding drums!
Zhuria that’s my next purchase!! I didn’t know those existed until a few months ago. Do you have the Dremel brand one or a knock off? I’m just not sure if the Dremel brand will work on my tool, it should... I’m thinking
@@DeeJayBeStudios Good point - my flex shaft came with my rotary tool, so I'm not sure if the Dremel one would work on off-brands. I wonder if Mastercraft sells one to go with theirs?
I've had horrible experiences with the EZ Lock mandrel. The sanding drums slip off all the time. I don't know why Dremel keeps selling that defective product. there are many other people with the same problem. I think the only solution is the glue them on. Bummer.
@@DeeJayBeStudios So you went back to the older mandrels? When I try out the EZ lock mandrel without the sanding drum on it, I don't see the rubber part expanding. It doesn't expand at all. It's not holding on the sanding drum What I don't understand is how Dremel gets away with selling these even after years of complaints. Not good for the credibility of the company.
Thank you!

Neat! I will definitely have to look into those barrels because I’m getting sick of how cheap mine are. They are indeed quick to rip apart!
Thank you so much for this video😁 It is very helpful!
Like all of your videos😉

After posting this video; I have since switched to the solid mandrels. The locking mechanism weakened and it no longer worked for me.
