Seba was actually pretty difficult to get ahold of throughout his career. He was very introverted and wanted to detach his image from his music. I can understand that to an extent as honestly without really knowing much about him his music almost feels like a replacement of what he wanted to share with the world, without having to say a word. While I wish I knew more of him, I respect him for wanting to stay silent and just DO what he did best. RIP to the silent master who flooded his soul to the world
"his music almost feels like a replacement of what he wanted to share with the world, without having to say a word." This hit really fucking hard. I think the entire world would be a better place if everyone listened to Nujabes.
People like to twist the truth all the time. So maybe it was best that he was quiet during those times. If his music was not more of a cult following even though his music is well known his name is rarely ever heard in the present day. I definitely think he was a smart man. Smart enough to not be manipulated by the industry. Or at least that's what I think.
WHAT NUJABES SAID at 7:08 "If anybody knows, I came to Korea one time to DJ, but uhhh.... at that time you probably did not know me, and at that time I was maybe just a .. uhhh ... first band with two or three [we were] mainly tourists to sightsee the world or something, so I was just... I AM just an ordinary guy, so I just uhh... k!" He explains his first and only travel to Korea - aside from this second visit that you are watching right now - and how his band was only a small group of people at that time. They were just tourists on a mission to sightsee the world and play music for anyone that would watch. He finally concludes that he was, and always will be just an ordinary guy. He is very humble and quite shy and reclusive. RIP Nujabes Seba Jun.
Your quote is a bit off.. he ACTUALLY says "my first only one-two-three 12-inch released like six years old or something", meaning six years prior (2008 -> 2002 or 2001ish when he probably went) he only had a couple 12-inch records out so people probably didn't know about him that much.
He sounded so normal and humble. It sucks when you listen to his music and then realize he's no longer around making music that he just loved to make. ;_; rest in beats.
This whole video was a goose bump roller coaster.. Jun was my helper during my aggressive disorder due to my depression, His music calmed me while the song lasted. It's 3 years later i'm now 18 and i'm into chill hop i am super peaceful and this guy introduced me to chill hop.. he changed my life.. I love you nujabes.. so much
Nujabes saved a lot of us. It’s unfortunate that someone with this type of talent was taken way too early. Like I a supernova we have remnants of some powerful energy that’s in his music. I still feel the same way as I did when I heard his music for the first time back in 2012 when I was suffering from a depressive state. The only word I can describe it as is simply, free.
Every time I remember he is not walking on this world makes me feel terribly sad, another genius is gone... but at least his perfect art stays here and alive to motivate and inspire
wow finally. this guy nujabes is well known for his music but there doesn't seem to be whole lot of videos of his concert or at all. I'm glad that atleast one video made it out so now we can all see how nujabes actually played his music. even though the video isn't really recorded properly.
Different times. You have to realise cell phones with good pixel quality, not resolution didn't hit main stream phones. High resolution phone cameras came to phones till around 2009 with the iphone 3gs
I know, I wish the guy that was filming it had better control but I don't really care about that because if it won't for him.. we all wouldn't be witnessing Nujabes' rare and amazing performance!
Leaving Korea in the morning, and I’m coming back to this amazing recording. It makes me happy knowing Nujabes had performed in my family’s home country. Seeing everyone enjoying themselves and appreciating Nujabes’ and Hiroto’s music is a beautiful thing. RIP Nujabes
its 2022 I've just discovered this man its been 3 days , and I feel like a completely different person I feel one step closer to the unknown. I feel like I was lost unaware of it all music. I feel like he was a secret every one knew but me. I feel like I've discovered the something i cant describe , I feel sad , I feel happy, I feel nostalgic, have you ever cried to no emotion . I do not cry cause am sad or happy or hurt. I cry because I feel an emotion from this music its a little cringe but i feel like nujabes is a whole new emotion in himself. What is happening to me...
There is something real beautiful about death, that I want to share and that came up for me while watching this.. Whenever we die, we never fully leave. We simply turn into a pure energy Form. For instance, I've lost my brother and I deeply believe, he is the air I breath.. The water I drink.. The earth I feel on my feet while walking barefoot over mud, grass and earth... The fire I stare at with joy in my eyes.. The clouds.. He is a cloud to me. After his death i read the lines "you wish you were a cloud. Now you are a cloud." on this desk. He knew.. And he showed me what he meant by it. Every day in small ways so I could learn over the course of 8 years now.. We never truly leave, we just change. He didn't "leave me", he found a way to be closer to me, than ever. I didn't get this until now.
This video is amazing; a golden piece of time. I bet he didn't imagine how many lives he would touch and change...here's one from Argentina, cheers! and big thanks for this upload!
Lol I cried the first time I saw this video cause it's just so beautiful and rare.. rip to a legend Seba Jun aka Nujabes.. He will forever be an inspiration not just for me but everyone and for more to come..
