I love that this wasn't just a tattoo artist roasting celeb tattoos because that's so overdone. He clearly is a seasoned professional and knows what he's talking about.

Sorry to say,but bang bang is heavily overrated and a not well chosen artist for this. Hes very 1 dimensional and known for not holding tattoos.
Jenna Vélez came here to say the same thing. I was waiting for him to bash all the tattoos like the other artists in other breakdowns did but instead he was very complementary and also had knowledgeable things to say.
Bang bang needs his own show. The knowledge is pretty amazing that he’s learned and can explain it very well.
i’ve actually noticed how Rihanna has a lot of tattoos in “bold” places like her neck but they still look subtle and perfect on her. i really love her tattoos

We need MORE OF THIS GUY. I'm not a fan of the way most tattoo artists criticize or comment on tattoos in this type of videos, they usually come down to "it's rad" or "it's bad", but this guy is different. Super reflective and informative, we need more of him. Get him to comment on MMA athelete's tattoos.

I mean 90% of the tats shown here were either done by him personally or done in his tattoo shop, so he's not gonna call out on a tattoo as "bad". Bella's tattoos are trash, so are Hailey's yet since they are both done in his shop he understates them. He knows that they will look very bad once the ink starts to break and the rose will become a dark hole, while the writing will become a smudge. He also knows that Beckham's tattoo will look very, very bad once it ages no more than 10 years (you can't shrink a tattoo that has too much detail to that size, ink spreads out in 5 years and the detailed shadowing become smudges), yet doesn't want to state the obvious just because he cares more about money than realistic criticism. I'm almost certain you either don't have any tattoos, just got a tattoo and you haven't seen how a tattoo ages or have a tattoo that is so simple that you don't know how ink reacts on human body. No more than 3 tats were good in this video shown (Rihanna's gun, David's Angel and Rocks tribal), and he didn't criticize them with honesty due to his cliental.

The Rock's tribal tattoo took 60 hours to complete as it was tattooed by hand, as opposed to with a machine.

@@lavonhathcock6048 what he means was this was done the traditional way tribal tattoos were originally done which doesn't involve tattoo guns. Traditional tribal tattoos are done by a single sharp object ( I think it was bamboo or a single needle i am not clear on it and ink) that is continuously tapped with another tool and is done by hand without any machines of any form. These tattoos are incredibly time consuming especially considering the size of his arm.

I was ready to bash him because he's a "celebrity" tattoo artist, but his view on tattoos stopped me completely. His consideration for form, placement,etc is really insightful and I like his non judgemental approach.

I’ve had pretty mixed feelings about tattoo critiquing videos in the past but this guy is chill and explains his rationale well.

Doc_s1krr lots of tattoo artists don’t want to argue with the client just because it doesn’t flow with the body if the client likes it and thinks it looks good they go with it which can be good sometimes but it’s also good to have their opinion too
The best thing about Adam Levine's tattoos is that more thought and artistic direction was put into that artwork than anything Maroon 5 has put out in the last decade.

@@richardharrow1946 Nah, I disagree. His tatts are pretty solid. The ones in San Adreas are too simple, empty and light. Adam's is full of rich detail and there's a lot of unique creations all around, covering much of the empty space in between throughout his body.

Please don't. Micro/single needle tattoos do NOT age well. You'd get an overpriced temporary tattoo. Treacle tatts did a few videos about this style of tattooing, she also talked about Bang Bang, I'd recommend that you watch them.

One thing with Dwayne Johnson’s tattoo is that he’s Samoan. His tattoos are very traditionally Samoan and it really shows how he’s connected to his culture.
I love how he's really positive and polite rather than just being rude about everyone's tattoos like a lot of the other artists are. Very refreshing.

I like how he complimented everyone in some way. Like I can't see him wanting one of Kylie's teeny tiny tattoos on himself, it's just not his style. But he can still appreciate the skill that went into making it precise and that she likes it.

The positivity is nice. Instead of tattoo artists digging every single person’s tattoos. Tattoos are about individuality, not what everyone else wants you to get. Mad respect!
It's nice listening to an intelligent critique of something by someone who clearly sees it on more than one level. He seems to see the "why" in addition to the "what", and even if he does not especially like it, he doesn't just bash the person for getting it. Great video.

I love listening to tattoo artists talk about tattooing. When I went to get mine (a peter pan tattoo over my heart), I was really scared of the fact that it's a needle, because I hate getting shots and hypodermic needles scare the crap out of me. The artist explained to me that tattoo needles are different in a few ways, and the way he described it to me it was interesting and very much calmed my nerves very easily.
I have 3 tattoos and when i told the nurses i was afraid of needles they looked at me with a puzzled face
His reverence of Rihanna is pretty awesome, very respectful.

This guy is great because he doesn’t yuck anyones yum. He’s professional, open to a range of tattoos, and provides legitimately helpful feedback. A lot of tattoo artists are pretentious. This guy is literally one of the best in the business and he stays grounded and kind.
