    I'm dying here. "This machine is a little too big" LOL!! I have no idea why these old videos are in my recommended list.

    The guys I'm working with have 7 track hoes from a 319 to a 307 and a smaller Bobcat. My pick is a 312. Strong, fast and smooth. Already loaded boulders that a 320 wouldn't lift. Progressive thumb will let you pick up stuff anywhere the bucket is. Sweet machine. Perfect for grading and clearing. Really surprised me!

    I think you made out quite well. Got your money back, some work out of it and learned you didn't need a machine that big without spending big bucks. Thanks for sharing. How about that, bigger isn't always better, lol.

    I guess you gained something out of this ol' girl,...you now know how to repair drive motors ! ( And what it cost's too )
    Experience and knowledge is best gained/taught but practical, hands on work, I think.
    You got away lucky.

    Obviously it's too late to consider it for this machine, but that would have been a nice size machine to set up as a long reach. Since you seem to take on a lot of pond digging/cleaning and occasionally rent a long reach, you could get a lot of use out of it! Maybe something to think about if you find another toy..

    Well that deal worked out well! Get an old Koehring Bantam C166 with a 4-53 Detroit thats a good clearing machine. Small and you can pick them up pretty cheap.

    • @TheSoloAsylum
      @TheSoloAsylum 9 лет назад +1

      yeah but a detroit is a hunk of shit as far as machines go...

    • @UnitCrane514
      @UnitCrane514 9 лет назад

      Ive never had an issue with them. Just don't park it in a nice drive way so the air box breather doesn't piss oil on the concrete. I would just fire them up and get to work. Full throttle with some earmuffs with built in radio.

    • @TheSoloAsylum
      @TheSoloAsylum 9 лет назад +1

      ***** Komatsu, Cat, John Deere, Volvo, Kabota, Cummins, all make better engines. You ever work around a screaming damn detroit making 75hp all day...junk.

    • @UnitCrane514
      @UnitCrane514 9 лет назад +1

      Sure I have. Its brutal. I live it and love it though. Hes not running production with the damn thing hes just toolin around with it on a farm. Just because you dislike something doesnt mean its not a reasonable choice for what he needs. Detroit is a rock solid engine. I have seen them out perform new diesels when put in the proper application.

    Wow you know I am so confused if he's already got a 160 why buy another one? Why can't he just use that to clear out the trees that he was talking about at least every time I buy a new toy excavator it's always A different size and it has slightly different capabilities I have five excavators right now in my fleet I have a micro, A mini, A medium that has wheels, and two larger track excavators but one is about half the size of the other one

  • @scottmartin4469
    @scottmartin4469 9 лет назад

    Im confused. Mind you its not really my buisness but all those Volvos and the dozer yours? Thought you grew up in a family excavating buisness? Here your talking abour side jobs with the Link belt and doin stuff on your own. I always thought you were your own contractor with the Volvos. Why not just use them for your work. Lastly how many machines do you accually have. Seems you either borrow or rent everything from older hitachi ex120-3 to a bunch od newer case stuff.

    • @Luke.B2184
      @Luke.B2184 3 года назад

      Now he has to 160s a 220 and a 250 excavators and a vio55 Yanmar a Haul truck to Komatsu dozers a roller a Deere backhoe and a tl12 Takeuchi and a bunch of farm equipment
