If anyone struggles with the fact that total target remains same for all rows at 1:10:46:
Reestablish the relationship between the monthly store target table and the sales person table.
This time, you would have to connect the two tables using the Store ID column in the monthly store target table and the Sales Person ID column, instead of the store name column in the sales person table.

Hi, this is a nice job you have done here with excel. However, When i load the fact_table, the date column shows as a text data type. I have tried all i could to transform it but i am not succeeding. When i try to change data type with locale, my laptop hangs. Any help from anyone please?

I tried uploading the downloaded excel file in power query, and my date column is text character, I tried converting it to data and I couldn't.
Please is there anyway I could do that? I am stuck.

Close it and start all over again.
Make sure you open the data in Excel first and convert the date column to date then close and load it to Power Query.

I just started watching this promising lesson, noticed when i select the date of birth column, the age option under date is greyed out. then i figured the date of birth column wasn't formatted as date data type. I tried converting it but it's giving so many errors for date entries. only few converted correctly. please help.

When I try to duplicate column at the very start at 4:34 mins the Date of Birth column doesn't allow me to select Age through the add column section and therefore, I am unbale to move forward :/
Convert your date column to date data type. It will work. You can as well use Transform.
I get the same problem, after I changed data type to Date, many columns appears "Error", although most of the can be converted successfully.
@@milomalaysia7034 right click on the date of birth column, click on change type, then using locale, change data type to date and Locale to English (United states) then ok
The data I downloaded in the date column in customers_table, its type is ABC but when I chage its type to date it gives an error. I have tried multiple times but it always gives an error. Any idea how can I fix this issue?
Change the region. Your region Date format doesn't match the one on the dataset.

Why? Make sure your two dates from the two tables are using date data type.
If the data type is wrong from either of the tables it will give you errors.
Try it again.🙏
Is there an alternative to zebra ?
Yes, use charts. One chart for revenue and targets and the other for variance.
Just do revenue - Target and have your variance.
Just be creative.

Make sure there is relationship between your FactTable and the date table

I was able to solve this issue, after a long try..
Make sure the Date format in the monthly target is in English USA... i.e Day/Month/Year...
Format it before Querying it.

You might want to take a look at your data model again.
