We hope this means Cal is interested in signing an extension here. He might just not want Scott Boras. The reality is he is likely open to an extension but he is going to need more proof that the Mariners care about winning, and it is still going to cost somewhere in 6/120 range.

I think Boras wanted to play hardball with the M's. Wanted to hold out and hit the open market so they both could cash in big. Hitting the open market WOULD most certainly mean more $$$ for both of them. But Cal might want some security with a long term deal sooner than later and Boras wants him to wait. And Boras has a HUGE ego and thinks he knows all. And I am quite sure he tells the player to 'trust him' and let him make the decisions for the players future.

Having Scott Boras is #notasmartstrategy. Hope we get an extension next offseason.

Felix had HOF stuff & definitely at his peak. However he had many games where he lost 1-0 or 2-1 with those bad M’s teams of the early 2010s (bad hitters & not good bullpens). He basically had to pitch a complete game shutout for the M’s to win. Also from 2015 till the end in 2019 his arm & pitches were not the same. Mariners ownership & FO failed him. If Felix was traded during his peak to a contender or he adjusted his routine to stay relatively decent in his later years, he’d have over 200 wins & about 3,000 Ks, making a better case for HOF.

I moved to NYC a week before Johan Santana’s no hitter and went to that game on a first date. We were drinking heavily enough we didn’t realize he had a no no going until the 8th inning. Fun times.

Who do you guys think will be the broadcast teams on tv and radio. I know rizz stays radio. But does Goldy go strictly tv? Does Gary Hill just move into full time broadcast? Is blowers going to be full time tv?

I find this very interesting. Is Boras just a bum and he can’t fulfill his client’s wildest desires? Or was he just refusing to have Cal resign an extension with Seattle because it’s not the biggest return on investment for Scott and his client.

Boras has an up and down track record. With some clients he's got them contracts nobody thought they'd be able to get. Last season though, was his worst year as an agent. All his guys signed late and for a fraction of what they wanted.

Ya it sounds like Boras has dropped the ball one too many times. Still don’t think Cal is taking a discount with or without Scott.

This sounds like a terrible PR move by Seattle. Are we not concerned that now boras clients are going to be steered away from Seattle? If there was a shit with Snell, if, then we can honestly say that chance has been reduced. 2% or 90% its shiftedagainst us
