    This guy is one of the most practical legit self defense guys I have seen. Really like these videos.

    I'm hooked on your videos. I'm about to get my purple belt in jiu jitsu and your grappling is on point. I've seen a lot of instructional videos where the instructor takes for granted how quickly a trained ground fighter can react and flip the script. Absolutely brutal. Especially the use of eye gouges and groin strikes. I really like how you reminded the class to pay attention to that bump sweep where the guy on his back would grab both ankles and shoot the hips up causing you to fall on your back and them in full mount. Job well done sir! I've learned a lot through your videos. Hope we can see you out in Arizona one day for a seminar. I'll be the first to sign up! OSS!

    Honestly I think a lot of those techniques are very close to original Brazilian jujitsu, the stuff we practice now has been watered down by focusing too much on the sport aspect, most professors have forgotten the self defense application

      But not me! Gouging, biting headbutts etc doesn’t belong in sport! Fact is..I need to give them some skills for the ground. Keep it very basic. I stay away from the BJJ stuff. That is great for sport.

      I train in Burton Richardson’s BJJ for the Street. While the sport aspect of BJJ is great for skill development the self defense part SHOULD NOT BE IGNORED. There are situations where it is safe to grapple but there are also ones that are not. Yes BJJ was developed first for self defense

      Objective here is to stand on your feet asap.you never fight 1 on 1 and always assume there is A weapon. No interest on rolling on the floor in that context. Keep in mind the environment will be unforgiven. Not a soft mat like in the dojo. Point is everyt martial art can give you something that is usefull for the street. As long as you can keep your head right. And are using the principles of QCB. Thanks for the feedback.

    What's more realistic is someone w/that knowledge on the street would kick that person in the head when they get up from the ground game, then run off

    Love your content, and your online course! Because in my area there is basically no adequate clubs/ groups. A question in general, how can I teach a civilan that want to know self protection, but are so heavly conditioned to shy away and have a hard time even thinking about hurting an other... even when it is a must?! You talked at some points about aggression on a switch! But I find it hard to teach...

    How can we escape the rear naked choke on the ground ?

    • @schoolofselfprotection
      @schoolofselfprotection  2 года назад +1

      Oefffff…how did you end up there?? There are different ways to escape. But if it’s already locked you have 5/8 seconds to do something. Grabbing fingers and snap them and peel his hands off. You start with the hand that is behind your head..but if he knows what he is doing…it’s sleepy time.
