Could watch this for ever. Just flying and talking and great views. Thank you, Rich.
I love how out in the western desert you get such gorgeous, long visibility with no murky layer.
Oh it's bloody amazing to have you back, Rich! Thanks!
It's nice to see you again Rich !
Thanks!
This channel gets right to it, skill, scenery, story telling. Dig it
Thank you!
Thanks Rich, that was really cool! I'm about ready to move up in the mountains and have bears for best friends. I don't like the snakes and bugs. LOL It's been a while, but we used to bring the power back to about 2k and adj the prop. It was quieter and better fuel burn. They tell me now it's FADEC, you don't even have to touch it 8(. Thanks for the ride, really enjoyed that!! --gary
Sounds like good neighbors!
You're like me Rich, I do enjoy flying and admiring the beautiful scenery beneath, flying Jets is cool but lower altitudes are a lot of fun , Thanks for sharing Captain!
This looks exactly like the type of flight I just did in my 172 this morning
Great trip. I love me some Caravan. Thanks Captain Rich.
Nice video, Rich.
Those Caravan's are really workhorses.
Nice video Rich, really enjoy all your comments, especially where you’re going to breakfast’s! 😄
I need to re-instate the breakfast spots!
Some of the best GA and flying videos out there. Don’t stop making these Rich.
Thank you!
Beautiful landscape, love videos like this, Rich
Hey long time no see - on here. Nice big comfortable bird. Speaking of turboprops, is Rob Ryan still around? cheers.... 208 FYI FedEx operates 239 with feeders like MountainAir, and 134 are with military service.
Thx Rich...nothing like desert flying with all it's associated heating and thermals...fantastic views and beutiful clouds.
Nice Caravan.
Good to see you in the air. Nice overview of the Caravan. 😊
Thanks again, Rich! You've done very well fulfilling the dual pilot and cameraman role in a typically bumpy ride. Great scenery and commentary.
Thank you!
I appreciate you taking the time to bring us along Sir! Great video as always!
@@chixterhotbrown thank you!
Cool video. Thanks for sharing Rich.
The desert, the clouds. Beautiful! Thanks Rich
Thank you!
If you could I would love a short tour of the cabins, especially on the larger planes like this one!
Thanks for the video. I miss flying in the southwest United States. I flew out of Palm Springs and Riverside California during my instrument/commercial training days in the eighties. I need to get back!
Indeed. More videos like this would be great, Rich. I'm an east-coast American who is kind of forced by circumstance to live outside the country and a long-time pilot who hasn't been able to fly in years. I'll be your copilot any day, especially in the western USA.
Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time and energy that it takes to make these video to share with us. It is greatly appreciated. Blue Sky's Rich
Thank you!
Great to see you're putting up videos again Rich.
Thank you!
Nice to see you. I love seeing a Caravan actually more than a jet, such a roomy airplane with great visibility, it’s like a tour bus. Safe travels
Thank you!
Good to see ya back on RUclips, back up AI a little wonky!
You not at OCR anymore?
That was a brand new AI as well, and correct - no longer with OCR.
You are amazing in flight descriptions!
Did a bunch of flight training in Tucson and drove several times to Montana from Tucson so familiar with the bumpy rides and was nice to see the terrain again north of Flag.
Great video.
I liked the change up.
I also love that part of the country.
Like the position of your cameras. This provides more visual information. Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback.
Great video Rich. That's one of my favorite parts of the country. Lake Powell is gorgeous. Fly safe!
Another great video. Always a pleasure to watch. Thanks for posting. Keep the videos coming!
Bang on ... Rich consistently delivers a hi-qual product.

Great video Rich! So glad to see your content again. I hope the guy with the Kodiak gets everything squared away. That was a tough story to listen to.
Thanks - seems like Kodiak has taken notice. I’m sure Amir will make an update video.
Could watch these types of videos for hours Rich!
Thank you!
Love your videos, Rich. Wish I'd had the opportunity to fly a Caravan. Only got up to a 182, many years ago. I hope your new working life is working out well for you. All the best.
Thank you!
Genius!!!! Wonderful !!!👍🏼👍🏼☝🏼☝🏼🦾🦾✈✈👨🏼✈👨🏼✈
Some great memories for me coming from the UK flying a brand new G1000 C172SP for 2 weeks around Arizona back in 2007. At the time I was susceptible to a little motion sickness. Bouncing my ass around this terrain sorted me right out!
Such a great place to fly and you will get used to the bumps eventually.
Wish you well in your new endeavors. Thoroughly enjoy the videos
Greetings from Norway Rich. This was great. Lived 12 years in Boulder and flew many times over these territories so this gave me goosebumps for many reasons. Tusen Takk -
Thanks for the message, and glad you enjoyed the video!
I always look forward to your videos Rich. Are you in the Phoenix area now? You’ve inspired me to fly again. It’s been over 30 years. I have about 400 hours, instrument, commercial and was actually a CFI. Then life started happening.
Thanks. Glad you are back flying!
The interior looks great. Nice trip! I bet there will be no shortage of viewers who would have loved to occupy that copilot seat. Looks like a great trip. PGA/Page AZ is a great Jet A stop with CAA fuel prices. Love that area. I love flying out west in general. Thanks for the video.
I’ve missed your videos in my Saturday morning RUclips inbox. Looking forward to more content.
Thank you!
Awesome video sir thank you 👍🏼
Wonderful video. The desert Southwest is one of my very favorite places to fly and drive. Great commentary and views... more please!
Thanks - beautiful area for sure!
Hi Rich - I've been a passenger in high-density Caravans at both Tropic and Maya Airlines flying out of Belize City.
Thanks for the info!
Nice sight seeing! Was expecting to watch some vfr entrance into the bravo airspace before ending though. With the G1000. I still use steam gauges.
@@johnsenetto7935 Next time
Real nice speed in turbulence seems like a tough airframe.
Thanks for the video, Rich. Great to see you!! I've been wondering where you've been.
Thank you!
Nice video, Rich! Good to see you back, I hope you're doing well. If you ever come across the new Denali, please drop a video. I would love to see a review on them. Thank You...
Hopefully!
👍👍
@movingart8026 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We have high density seating in Australia, the Caravans I flew to work in had doubles down one side and singles on the other. Really crams you in there when the aircraft is full.
Must be a sight to look back at all those people in the Caravan!
@@FlyingwithRich I was always a passenger on those flights but I’d imagine the pilots thought the same!
Loved it.
Excellent content as usual. Thanks.
Thank you!
Keep them coming.
Enjoy watching your videos, thanks. Thought under FAR Part 23 waiver you could fly 13 passengers in the USA.
I did not know that - thanks for message!
Rich, I’ve been watching your videos for a long time now. Always been a huge fan. I’m trying to get back in the air after finishing flight school debt free. If you ever have an opening I’d love to tag along! I’d make the drive to you!
Stay in touch!
@@FlyingwithRich will do. I appreciate everything you do for the aviation community!
By "experience the terrain" do you mean get your fillings shaken loose by the turbulence over the hot desert? Just kidding, of course, I know exactly what you are talking about. Glad to see you finding time to make more videos.
A few bumps add some flavor to the flight.
@@FlyingwithRich That is true, I am just bitter about the 98 degree day I did pattern work here on the east coast last week. Every bounce seemed to knock sweat into my eyes!
Hey Rich…just wondering if anyone has thought about an STC for Caravan wheel pants? Love your channel!
Thanks - I do think Cessna looked at it and I also think Blackhawk is working on an STC as well.
I would’ve loved to go on that flight. The flight levels can get boring.
Absolute tank of an aircraft. Random question but have you ever experienced complete engine failure in your aviation history?
Yes - Cessna 340 - luckily had a spare engine - all worked out well! Thanks for watching!
Glad to see you back on the air!
What is this airplane's day job?
Also Lake Powell looks a lot better but I think it is still less than half full.
Private owner use. Looks a more full than 1/2 to me but I’m not an expert.
@@FlyingwithRich, well I am sure not an expert I just looked it up on the web. However I saw that has not been totally full since the 80's so it might be at what would be normal for this century now. Looking forward to more videos!
@billlamb1937 thank you!
Yay!
there is a little ski area by that mountain that i skied over 50 years ago out of flag
Very cool!
great video, but it does look a lot different to a cessna 207 . I can’t see the same heritage in them. We owned a couple of cessna 207,s
It’s a different airplane for sure but I sure see a lot of the earlier high wing Cessna’s in it - thanks for watching!
I do not fly but with that turbulence and motion??? Perhaps strapped in ! Just in case the air pattern Gods send you a meeemo to Buckle Up🇨🇦😂
I had a lap belt on!
Why didn't the mechanics fly out to you and do the maintenance? How can you fly a broken plane?
hi rich what's happening with your channel now
Is there a type rating or endorsement you don’t have ???? !!!
I’ve been fortunate to fly a lot of the GA airplanes - thanks for watching!
When that plane is loaded with passengers are you required to have two pilots? Or does that just come down to company policy?
I believe it depends if it's a FAR Part 91 or 135 flight. Part 135 requires a crew of two, where Part 91 is personal use and requires just the pilot. A "company policy" would fall under 135.
@@kuckoo9036 Yes because Caravans are under 12,500 and there's no SFAR like our Merlin that can go to 14,000. I think you can only get 250 gal fuel if the seats are full.
Wouldn't it be better to go up as high as you can for fuel economy.
Generally yes with equal winds but that day was favorable down low. Even in same wind conditions you only save about 12g at 18000 vs 10000. IFR route could added fuel too.
at arround 100 feet I almost thought you were going to turn left to land on runway 32...that seemed to attract you to land on it 😁 😂
