This is exactly what I purchased when the 12 yr old boy invented this for his science project at school. The only difference from his to yours is it was a threaded handle that meets the plastic head plus on the head there was a bolt on each side for the plastic bag to attach to. It was amazing....the teeth slide through the grass very easily plus it was worked great in the snow & where I live in Canada it gets damn cold in the winter approx 15-20 below. Like I stated below this lasted me 18 yrs & there is nothing I have found on the market that worked so outstanding as this piece of greatness....Kevin you should open up a pooper scooper business making these & you would be a millionaire.....seriously.... the cost to make this is next to nil......

I found this video by trying to find the exact scooper you're talking about. My god it was the perfect scooper. My mom still has her original one from 20 years ago, all the tines have broken off but it's still better than anything else out there. I want _so_ badly to find another one for myself!

Yes to the knobs on both sides and need a bit more pointyness to the teeth of this scooper. We live in the northeast US and often times the ground is somewhat hard and the poops get pretty stuck to the ground then. That’s where the pointy-ness of the pooper scooper teeth come in handy.
I have 2 to f the scoopers the young boy designed and sold. I need to buy a new one because the handle on one broke off. I have looked for the same version online to buy but haven’t seen it yet.
Did I already mention I’ve been picking up dog poop since forever and I really like this kid’s invention?
I usually just buy the bags in stores like PetSmart. Reason being, some bags from stores like Lowes and Walmart are paper thin and often times rip and/or already have holes in them. Not good when taking off hook, tying up and moving bag to refuse container.
Other than that you did a good job. I can’t recall how much I paid for my last scooper. Maybe 20 bucks?

We had the one made by the 12 year old boy as well after close to 20 years it was done! Does anyone know what happened to that product? I guess I will to head to the work shop to build one!

Kevin, you are pretty handy to have around with a great imagination. One thing with that bag configuration...I don't think they are going to want to be that up close and personal with that device over time. My suggestion is to shove the bag through the poop catcher and have the handles of the bag get caught by the outside "fingers" of the scooper. That will keep the tool cleaner and not as tricky to attach the bag.

Does work just like the one a ten year old invented. That one I think is called SASI SCOOP and it is made of a pvc plastic material and two Frankenstein bolts on the (3 and 9 aClock) outside of the tube, for the grocery store back to latch on to. By far the best scooper in the world. Seen others that use the g bags but they need an additional stick to push the scoop into the bag. This is a scoop and not a plate with a shovel to push poop into the bag.

I purchased one just like that a few years back. I cannot find it now! I'm wondering if the picture you had is the one I purchased and if you know the name. From what I remember, it was a young kid who designed it. The best one I have ever used. It had a knob on each side for the bag handles to wrap around. I may just have to do what you did and make it...although, I'm not as handy as you are. If you know the brand of the picture you used, please let me know!! Or I will buy one from you!!!

I know the one you are talking about as I had the exact same one. It lasted about 18 yrs until the plastic finally snapped where the handle attached to the plastic head. The only thing I had to do was the handle where the threads were rusted so I used a threaded broom handle & it worked perfect. I've missed this damn pooper scooper terribly & no the little boy that invented this great scoop is no longer in the business....why I don't know but it was amazing. The little boy invented it for his science class if I recall

It was called the SASI scooper and it's no where to be found. Much to my family's chagrin.

I think this kid’s invention was patented. If you’re going y try o make and sell them, I believe you may have to get the kid and/or family permission or risk some legal issues.

Love the pooper scooper bud fot a idea that may just make that way better take your plastic bags put about 10 or 20 bags inside of each other then stick it through the center of the pooper scooper then find a way to fashion each handle on the bag to the PVC pipe at the end of the scooper see how that works

Using a plastic bag works better..one to pick it up like a glove and another to put it in...they make ones that disolve..so be careful.
