  • A tour of the town of Hope, British Columbia. Hope is where the 1982 Sylvester Stallone movie "First Blood" (i.e., Rambo) was shot. Nowadays, Hope is a quiet and pretty town with lots of downtown shops, quirky sculptures, and happy-looking people. After an extended look at the streets and buildings and people of Hope, my sister and I drive out towards Vancouver. On the way we stop at the majestic but quite different Bridal Veil Falls and, later, Cascade Falls. And we find lunch at a charming roadside joint called Wheelz. Nice drive through one of Canada's most enjoyable corners.
