A pleasure to watch such high quality work, along with your superb presentation. Have to agree that the copper looks a million times better than plastic!
Hello.. Just started watching your channel I live in a TERRACED HOUSE... THE STOP COCK IS THE OLD 1/2 " SIZE... NEED TO REPACE IT BUT 15MM ONLY AVAILABLE OPTIONS PLEASE JONATHAN
@@Jonathan-hl9vb a compression 15mm fitting will still fit on a 1/2 inch pipe mate. You can get plastic fitting (philmac) which will convert to and from whatever you want though.
As a non plumber I’m really enjoying watching your vlogs Dan. Such a natural in front of the camera. Hopefully I’ll pick some tips up to if I ever need any plumbing doing. 👍
Great video Dan, new subscriber after watching a few of your videos now. It's refreshing to see other engineers making content and passing on knowledge to others. A couple of observations from me, i would've put a double check on the incoming after the stop tap and also a push fit bib tap on the kitchen sink cold feed (im sure the plasterer would thank you)! A brave man leaving also that exposed pipework full of water with the current weather and the mains left on as well?
Cheers mark! Another has said about the double check valve. I didn’t realise this was a regulation Now 🤦🏽♂️, and system is too be emptied before this severe weather comes this week 🙏🏽
Woah !! I can’t imagine how satisfying it must feel when you finally finish this how. I mean she’s a virgin and you got first dips. Great video and ya the gas meter conundrum. Needs more research. Thanks for another video Dan ! Stay warm
Nice one, I’m new to the channel but picked up some great tips after watching a couple of your videos.., I swapped a radiator for a big o’l towel rad today, changed fittings etc.., all working & no leaks! 🤞.,cheers mate 👍
@@Heatking Dan, I’m a car technician by trade but now HGV driver by choice!, but have to say I’m at that age where I do like a bit of diy!, done loads of stuff in & around our home but central heating usually worries about potential leaks.., but all good now, thanks mate and please continue your vids, so helpful and enjoyable to watch 👍
nice tidy job mate nice when your left alone to get on with the job rather than all other trades fighting for same space. i agree with the earth cable coming through the same sleeve at least you can see it is bonded as for the sleeves i was always fort they had to be sleeved in copper but on my last gas course i read that they could be sleeved in metal or plastic on my last gas inspection i asked him and he said plastic is fine and it used to be a regulation
Cheers Robbo! We could do with seeing that in writing 😂😂 and yeh it’s nice to have a free empty property but better in summer. It was dark and cold in here haha.
@@Heatking if you can get a copy of Essential gas safety. Domestic published by corgidirect I find it a handy reference book as it cover most things flues ventilation pipe sizing ect and its is in there
Yep bonding shouldn't come through same hole. But your right they are like that on most 'new builds'. And i think the meter is an exception. Otherwise copper/steel for sleeve . Nice to see you seal meter too 😂
Great stuff pal 👍🏼. With the sleeving issue I was told like for like reason being if the inner pipe leaks it escapes into atmosphere instead of in the cavity. I do commercial and we have to have pipe in pipe for that reason in non ventilated areas, no doubt 💯 someone will tell me different but hey ho keep up the brilliant content as I've now become a subscriber
@@Heatking no dramas maybe worth adding one in and depending on appliances of washing machine and dish washer mi’s now ask for check valves on them. Most dishwashers have them in built.

What’s the theory behind using copper or steel for sleeping and NOT plastic

Your brave mate leaving that first fix full of water, its going to be minus 3 or 4 in a few days time. ❄
I know mate. 🤦🏽♂️ I might tell customer to drain it down. Good shout that mate.
School boy 😊
Nice job there Dan 💪
Thanks Tom! Appreciate that buddy!
Good video however I’m sure double check should be between drain off and stop tap for water regs
Thanks Tom. I’ve not heard of that one! Unless they’ve changed the regs since me doing my water regs 😂 which is quite possible 😂😂
