I never heard of bluebonnets till our son moved to Texas and showed me pictures. Thank you for the training. I will send a card to my son with these on it. I love blue flowers. You are a blessing during this covid isolation. God is truly speaking through your painting.

This is so fun. The pink blue bonnet is very rare. You don't see them as often in Texas. I have seen pictures of them, but never in the wild.

Thanks, Donna, for another beautiful painting. I can't wait to practice this one. You mentioned something that I have been struggling with. You talked about how paint can get down in the ferrule and make the brush fuzzy. Maybe one day, can you show us how you clean your brushes? This happens to me all the time. If you see one little light red dot on a single blue petal on the stalk that means a 🐝 has pollinated that plant. That’s what I have been told.

Bluebonnets are the Texas State flower. They are protected. They are actually a wild Lupine. Hybridizers sell other colors that are not true Bluebonnets, but Lupines. You can see whole fields of them along the highways in Texas where I lived for 8 years. Painters like to paint old barns and fences surrounded with them. They have Lupine leaves also.
