I’ve seen a lot of comments about the amount of boost being pushed through this block we are saying 26 to 28 psi max. The 10th and 11th gen can’t run more then 29.6 psi do to the factory 3 bar map sensor This stock motor is on stock map sensors just wanted to clarify I’ve been seeing people through out 40psi in the comments. Our built 10thgens with port injection only reach 35psi at 460hp on 4 bars for comparison
You give me hope for mine....I just realized that the con rods are pretty big of course the VTEC engines have bigger rods...but yeah always wondered how much the B18B could handle reliably.
@@sheldonlamey7010 someday I’m looking forward to k swap it, when my b18b gives out. Knowing how reliable the B engine is and where things are located around the engine it’s quite easy enough to sustain this engine for years! Don’t forget to seafoam it as well.

I've seen Scotty Killmer use Gumout and the put a small camera in the cylinder and upper cylinder wall was extremely clean. I wish more people would do more with the B18B like experiment with it to see what it can do instead of always adding a VTEC head to it.
@@sheldonlamey7010 other products works of course besides seafoam. I chose with seafoam since it’s been shown a lot of times that it helps with the carbon clean and making your engine run originally quiet also it’s a cheap fix to solve a lot of problems before it happens.
2020 L15B7 here... 90,000km.. tuned since 10,000km... phaerable 1.5... FBO... running like a dream... ran a 14.1 my first time drag racing... beat a 370z... how is this a bad thing????
these motors are not meant for performance period..the only way is to upgrade the internals and sleeve block..but not even worth it just swap a k20c from accord or type r
Please let me know how many mass produced engines can handle double the amount of factory boost on the stock bottom end and can be called reliable. The first year or two of tuning a new engine always comes with some failures.

The K20C sucks aswell K20Z3 with a turbo making the same amount of power as the K20C which is only a K-series by name gets gapped and it's nothing like the older K20Z3 or K20A the L15 turbo has potential but making high amount of power from it safely requires some beefier rods and Pistons
Money shift? on the freeway? burned all the oil at the track day and the bearing got hot? so the Acura engineers lied (talked out their PR-butt) when they were being paraded around to all of the RUclips channels saying "...they started with a blank sheet..."; except they didn't start with a blank sheet; they started with an Si and tweeked it about 20%. A blank sheet Integra would have been much different (and probably better...probably)
No money shift at all. I was just cruising in the slow lane cruise control on, and just out of nowhere a rod shot or the block. I had my youngest with me, so there’s no way I’d be driving like an idiot with my son in the car.
@micah delong it's called the motor was already beat on by you. Stock internals with to much boost this motor doesn't just blow up. It's non issue as the motor is extremely reliable and it's a performance version. But L series wasn't made for more then 26 psi and no ethanol, which is why there making type S for track time.
😬 between this and ososick 😬 I thought everyone had figured out how to tune an L15 to avoid throwing rods. Are there more significant differences between the FC1/3 L15B7 and the L15CA? Would be interesting to see some rod comparisons now that you have a few examples of the new ones laying around the shop
The old b7 is non vtec ,only vtc. The ca has bigger rods but vtec on the exhaust and vtc. Still new.just like any new gen motor. It'll be a year or 2 before they really figure out the kinks. The new b7 in the hatch also has vtec like the accord 1.5 unlike the old Si.
I like how the engine looks normal like a normal Honda engine it doesn't look something space age and intimidating but I'm sure you guys removed a lot of parts that's why it looks normal sorry for your loss by the way.
They need to make Kswap kits for this car. I’m driving one right now a loaner while my 2018 TLX gets fixed. It’s aiite still slow but it’s quick on short roads/turns if that makes since.
Man...how can you blow a factory engine? Acura has a lot of safety features, to prevent this from happening, especially with a stock engines. Well, a lesson learned. The new engines doesn't seem as strong as the 4th gen Acuras.
Engine is very weak. The rods are one of the biggest weak points in these motors unfortunately. Going to have to wait until someone makes an internal kit or just fully builds a better and stronger block. I just bought a 2023 integra 6mt and I'm scared to do anything with it. It sucks but as long as I keep it mostly stock, there shouldn't be any issues.
If you want to make your Acura faster, add as many bolt on mods as possible, as will as light weight wheels. I won't ever tune My Acura or modify the engine with anything...not even with KTuner...
No it's not stronger. It has smaller rods. These guys are blowing the motors with almost 40 psi. No stock engine let alone some race engines can't handle 40 psi.
Okay that's good news to me. I won't be pushing my si past 26 psi as it's my daily right now. I'm keeping the stock turbo and won't get a flexfuel tune till I get the beefier head studs.

Reminds me of a b-series head just bigger, I also really like the valve design, I'd be curious to see if the head would fit older blocks👀 cause tbh the rollers seem like they would perform really well at high rpm
Ososik blew his up at 32psi. Not sure why these engines are labeled as fragile when they fail at double the factory boost levels. Not too many factory bottom ends could take that.

SI and the Type R engines have to be built with beefed internals. These engines with bolt ons simply can’t handle the new power. I blew my FK8 Type R engine with 390whp full bolt ons

Loving the in-depth tech, but when the audio isn't great (understandable in an echoey shop), the music is a bad idea.
Man that makes me scared to do any sort of mods to my integra... Kinda unfortunate. time to save for the new type R :)
Get a canned stage 1 tune and enjoy a nice boost without risking a costly repair. Dealing with mixing e85 is a headache anyways.

I think the integra’s would be great if they just put a Detuned version of the K20C1 in the platform

We have measured both it’s a 4mm difference on the bearing caps
