    SONG OF DURIN
    (capo on 1st fret)
    Em D C
The world was young, the mountains green
    Bm Em
No stain yet on the Moon was seen
    D G
No words were laid on stream or stone
    C D Bm Em
When Durin woke and walked alone
    C D
He named the nameless hills and dells
    Em G C D
He drank from yet untasted wells
    C Am G D
He stooped and looked in Mirrormere
    Am G/B C D
And saw a crown of stars appear
    Em D G C
As gems upon a silver thread
    Am Bm Em
Above the shadows of his head
    Em D G C
The world was fair, the mountains tall
    Am Bm Em
In Elder Days before the fall
    Em D Am
    Of mighty Kings in Nargothrond
    G C D
    And Gondolin, who now beyond
    Em C D G
The Western Seas have passed away
    C Am Bm Em
The world was fair in Durin's Day
    Em C G D
A king he was on carven throne
    Em D C D
    In many-pillared halls of stone
    Em C G Em
With golden roof and silver floor
    C G C D
And runes of power upon the door
    Em C G D
The light of sun and star and moon
    Am C Em D
In shining lamps of crystal hewn
    Em D G C
Undimmed by cloud or shade of night
    Am Bm Em
There shone forever far and bright
    Em C G D
There hammer on the anvil smote
    Em C G D
There chisel clove, and graver wrote
    Em C G Em
There forged was blade and bound was hilt
    C G Em D
The delver mined, the mason built
    Em C G D
There beryl, pearl, and opal pale
    Am C Em D
And metal wrought like fishes' mail
    Em D G C
Buckler and corslet, axe and sword
    Am Bm Em C D
And shining spears were laid in horde
    C Em C D
    Unwearied then were Durin's folk
    Em G C G D
    Beneath the mountains music woke
    Em D G/B C
The harpers harped, the minstrels sang
    Am Bm Em
And at the gates the trumpets rang
    Em D G C
The world is grey, the mountains old
    Am D Bm Em
    The forge's fire is ashen-cold
    Em D G
No harp is wrung, no hammer falls
    C D Bm Em
The darkness dwells in Durin's halls
    C Em C D
The shadow lies upon his tomb
    Em G C D
    In Moria, in Khazad-dûm
    C Em G D
But still the sunken stars appear
    Am G/B C D
    In dark and windless Mirrormere
    Em D Am
There lies his crown in water deep
    C D Bm Em
'Till Durin wakes again from sleep

@@GustavoSteiner Surely, there has to be a way for you to do an arrangement in collaboration with the epic bass squad. Perhaps an extended saga that allows alternation between your pensive, folksy, bardic style, and their power bass operatic style. I would certainly pay money to watch and listen!

I love this song. I imagine the Dwarves singing this as they worked. They could have sang this to their children and generations to come. Durin was said to be one of the mightiest Dwarven kings. His name was given to many dwarven children.

Here i was searching for guitar tabs for this song, and even considered that i might sing it but this put it straight out of my mind. The guitar part can be learned, but such a voice i'll never possess. You have the voice of an angel.

"The world was fair in Durin's day..." and I'd say, the world is fair in Gustavo's Day! This is such a great cover my dear bardic friend, I already listened to this like 100 times! I can totally see you sitting in Rivendell in the Hall of Fire, playing this beautiful tune, while elves accompany you with harps and dance. Or maybe even in Khazad-dûm, surrounded by dwarves paying their respect to Durin after reconquering the Mines of Moria. Your voice truly has the power to create this enchanting, nostalgic atmosphere, as if Eru Illúvatar himself blessed you!
It's so awesome to see your channel grow man, you deserve all the praise in the world for the work, love and dedication you put into your beautiful covers. I enjoyed every one of them, and I can't wait to hear all your future covers. Strength, health and fortune to you my friend!

Yes, I saw them. It's very kind of you! It's just that you use both picking and strumming, switching between both throughout the song. It's not that easy to pick up the pattern. At least for a beginner 🥲😅

      G------0----0----0----0----2----2----2----2-----0----0------
