Muchas Gracias! An ANSWER TO MY PRAYER! You gave some alterbatuve phrases which I was hoping to find. In this way, we do not have to use the "vain repititions," but rather can use the Our Father as a pattern and make up our own prayer so that eventually we can pray freely in Spanish. Thank you for including the alternatives. I am so happy! Praise God!

Welcome home! I'm praying this prayer now for a dear friend in who is the main reason I started learning Spanish. Heartbreaking situation - praying "hagase Su voluntad asi en la tierra como en el cielo" y "libranos del mal."

The Lord hears you and will respond in His perfect timing. Thank you for standing in the gap for your dear friend. I pray the Lord continues to bless your Spanish learning journey. Amén.

Padre nuestro que estas en el cielo, is it correct? Is it in singular? 🤔

Saludos. Good question. I'm assuming you're referring to "el cielo"? This singular form is used in the Spanish Bible versions NTV & NVI (maybe more, but these for sure) and I'm guessing that they are trying to match the English version (vast majority) which is translated "in Heaven". Interestingly, the original word in Greek is a masculine, plural noun - ho ouranos (the heavens). The majority of Spanish Bibles use "los cielos", which matches the original language. I believe they are both correct and convey the meaning of the prayer, however, I'm going to lean towards the plural, per the original language, and it sounds more natural when saying it in Spanish, at least in the biblical context. Hope that helps.

@@missionali3134 Thank you it helps a lot. In Polish there are two ways of saying ''in Heaven'' and in "Heavens". Plural form is used in older Bible versions. Now I learn Lords prayer in Greek. It takes me a lot of time, but I think I will learn it soon by heart. In Spanish it looks it will be easier for me to learn. Thank you for slow reading of this prayer. I think in two weeks time I will start to learn it by heart. 👍
