For us with an anxiety disorder fear is with us for most of the time and for some even all the time. It interferes with our day to day lives and becomes so debilitating that it even can stop us from doing the things we used to enjoy.
To begin with your recovery journey, you must first understand why and how you ended up in this state in the first place.
For this I like to differentiate between two different situations that can lead to an anxiety disorder:
    1. External factors
    2. Inner conflicts
Both of these factors will cause your anxiety levels to spike and with shorter and shorter resting periods in between it is impossible to return to your "normal" levels.
This video will tell you what stress coping mechanisms you should adapt and how you should go on to recover from anxiety in general.

This video is spot on the constant second guessing and overthinking symptoms drives me crazy. I dont worry about heart attacks/strokes etc. My fear is insanity or serious mental illness. Ive become super sensitive to all white noise because of my fear of hearing things. The derealization from constant stress and panic adds fuel to the idea that im losing it. Im always needing reassurance too. I notice days were im too busy to even think about these symptoms they all fade completely. Its funny because once i start to feel normal again its hard for me to even understand my panicky states. This is the most stressful my life has every been externally and internally. Im just looking forward to feeling like my old self again.

Hey man, sorry to hear that you suffer from all of this and trust me i understand what you are going through.
Anxiety is a very tricky thing. There had to be one symptom one trigger one thought that lead you to believe that you were going crazy and from that moment on you are so aware and listening in to reassure yourself. Of course that only amplifies the symptoms and the thoughts you are having. I just uploaded a video yesterday and i think that it might be something for you. Hope it helps and always remember that it is important to get a grip of your bodies sense of comfort. Releasing tension will have an immediate effect on your mind. 🙏

one more thing i wanted to say :) Dont think about being your old self again. Being who you were before will only bring you back to where you are now. Everything you have done previously lead you straight to this anxious state.
So be a better and stronger you that is where you want to go to!

I just wanna let you know I am going through the exact same thing. I fear constantly that I have some horrible mental illness that isn’t just anxiety/ocd. I am always listening for any weird sound that could be proof that I am losing my mind. The random ringing in the ears doesn’t help either lol. Have derealization really bad but it comes in an out. Just know that you are not alone and we aren’t crazy, we are just sensitized by stress and anxiety.

Things have gotten better but I keep worrying something is drastically wrong with me, psychologically. Reading your comment made me realize I am not alone. Your comment made my day, thank you so much. I hope you are doing better friend.

my anxiety symptoms are crazy, my heart palpitates like skipped beats and a rush or adrenaline follows right after and my heart races, i have a pounding heart almost all day and my limbs go numb randomly and also muscle spasms. i’ve had ekgs done and they’ve all come out fine and been to the ER 2 times over my anxiety and the symptoms and they tell me my heart seems healthy and have no signs of a weak heart, but my anxiety always tells me “what if! what if you have an underlying heart condition!” and i am back in the cycle of panic. it seems like a never ending nightmare especially feeling the skipped heart beats randomly when i am finally relaxed, i am eating healthy now and working on my anxiety recovery but ITS SO HARD, my heart goes out to anyone dealing with this. your feelings are valid.

I wish I new what my heart wanted. I'm not happy in my job. But I don't know what to do. And I doubt I'll find a work place that's half as understanding of what I've been through and am going through now as where I work. So I decided to work on other things zip like the backlog of DIY projects and my grief over lost loved ones. It feels like it's helping. I just don't wanna work in an office anymore.

    • @ImprovementPath
      @ImprovementPath  5 лет назад +4

Hey i understand your feeling. I had a pretty "fancy" lifestyle and a good job but i gave it up as i didnt enjoy it too and the lifestyle wasnt really something all that important to me. I dreaded being stuck in the office every single day and now i work a in a more phsyical labor position and i enjoy it so much more.
Not saying go quit your job and find what you love but if the current work you are doing is something you dread you should definitely consider looking else where. You will be surprised how understanding people can be. Life is really too short just do do things over and over again that you regret...

I started getting anxiety symptoms after 3 days of drinking about 5months ago, I went to work the next day and noticed I was heavy breathing and gasping for air, and my thinking was disoriented, I ended up fainting that day, and going to hospital, they shouldn't find anything wrong with me, I havent been able to breathe properly ever since, and I have been doing everything, what I noticed is drinking alcohol and smoking ciggarettes made my symptoms worse, I am now smoke and alcahol free, I have had multiply xrays and tests that show that I'm fine, so which leads me to thinking I have anxiety, this anxiety does not go away for me, i havent been able to breath for 5months,

Very interesting that you mentioned it was something like a life you really weren’t interested in. I have been a caretaker for the last three years. I often feel trapped and have developed an anxiety disorder. I now understand what is happening and I do all of the above. Hormones for me play a huge role too as I am in my late 40’s. Thanks for the great videos.

Yes i do believe that the life we have built up for ourselves plays a huge roll for many of us. Feeling trapped and seemingly nowhere else to go it can create so much underlying tension. It accumulates over time and we develop anxiety disorders.
That is why i believe it is so important to take little steps towards forming a life that is fulfilling. It can be changing the job or if that is out of the question side activities and hobbies that do just that. This channel is something that i find joy from and that is fulfilling to me 🙏 i wish you all the best 🙌

I am suffering from anxiety for 2 years. I ignored my anxiety so much that I only focused my symptoms like blurry vision ibs dryness all over my body hearing problems etc. It ruined my social life and love life. For exp I broke my ex feelings even I didnt wanted to because my anxiety and symptoms was so peaked few months ago (I lost a loved one) I thought she wouldnt want me that way and I kept her away from me. Then awful things happened between us. Our relationship was quite toxic already. People like me cant end a relationship due to their anxiety. They just cant and the other person in the relationship take huge advantage from the person with anxiety mentally and physically. Eventually it all happened because I was too scared to face with anxiety. Even though I am on drugs I didnt named this feeling as anxiety before. I was thinking like doctors couldnt name my illness and they call it generelized anxiety dis. because it is easier to call. But it is time to recover thank god I found this channel. I can see now lots of people suffer from this.

Only we can help ourselves. Natural remedies like acupuncture homeopathy needs to be done. Do not take the anti anxiety medicine. It will be worst in the long run.

I have the peeing problem now it started 5 weeks ago as new symptom before this was doing a bit better but now fear and anxiety gone off the scale.
I really understand about the lifestyle situation, mine is not good. I am alone at home and my family, two sons, have moved away which they are entitled to but it's left me so isolated and because of anxiety my life became so small. I worked from home for many years and now scared to go out into the world and this brings fear of people and with the constant weeing seems impossible to go out to work place. I am very unhappy here at home and anxiety so high now with the peeing. I don't know how to build a life, I hardly see anyone now and so scared of the future I am in my 50's and have lost any sort of life over the last 3 years and now the constant peeing even more so. Do you have any advice you could kindly offer me? I feel so broken with lifestyle and the anxiety. Thanks very much.

Sorry your are going through this but be assured that it is something recoverable.
The advoce i can give you is probably something you have heard so many times before. You will need to take small steps in conquering your fears and work towards your life goals. If you feel isolated take that first step and set a date with a friend of yours whom you perhaps did not see for a long time. Go out for a walk in the park and soak in the great weather and some nature.
Annything that gets you out of your comfort zome just a little bit will build up confidence. And that is exactly what you will be needing.
Also workout and exercise. It will loosen tension which will make you more energized and motivated. You will have the energy to truly tackle this 🙏

I always thought ' yeah I can do this, I can cope, I am Ok, I don't need anyone's help' Well how wrong I have been and by reaching out to many I am overwhelmed at the help coming back. It was all pride and have held things together, badly, for so long that everything has started to fall apart and to be honest that is the best thing albeit painful and at times unbareable agony.
It's time to get things right and time for me to do what suits me best and not others which I had been doing. It will be a long road to recovery but at least there is a start now. There were times i even though i have forgotten how to breath and cosciously hat to inhale and exhale. With anxiety it often starts with fight or flight which then moves on to worries about what is happening and ultimately you get so intune with your breathing that even when everything is normal it seem not!(?) does that make sense.

      @ImprovementPath  5 лет назад +4

@@saketmantra2251 i am here to help and will always do my best with the limited time i have :) I can see that you are going through difficult times and i absolutely can relate. The heart is something that most people with anxiety actually suffer from. During times of intense stress, the hearts starts to pound, it races, blood pressure shoots up and our breathing becomes shallow. What you need to understand is that it is a normal physical reaction when we face stressful situations. Often it is the first panic attack that junpstarts this whole situation we find us in. We are so stressed out but do not see any "real" threat around us. So our attention focuses in because in fight or flight mode our brain needs a reason on why we feel the way we do. So your heart becomes the sole focus and it doesnt stop at that one panic attack as you are left wondering what just happened to you. You csrry this worry with you all day everyday and consciously tend to stay on the safe side just in case its really not anxiety but actually the heart. Your body over time tenses up and you feel synptoms even during times you feel not stressed at all and it triggers your worries even more.
I am writing all this because it is important to understand what is hapoening to you forst before you can even begin to recover. Watch some of the other videos here on the channel i am sure they will help ease your mind.
You have to learn to accept anxiety for what it is. Retrain your mind to see the symptoms as symptoms of stress and not of a deadly disease. The most powerful way of doing this is to work on your body first. Go exercise, workout build up strength and loosen that built up tension. A healthier and stronger body will have a direct inoact on your mind. Healthy body = healhty mind. You wilk see that acceptance will come naturally or at least a lot easier.
I hope this has helped 💪
      You can do this!

Yes… just a few days ago I was asking this same question.. and I am getting better… its all anxiety that makes it a cycle… once the symptom is not a constant thing in your mind it will get better, you might feel residual uncomfortableness but its because of dealing with the breathing issue for awhile. Its like when you have a cough but coughing so much leads to chest pain. Same thing with breathing issues. I have faith that you will get better.

Your video is stressful to watch. For me... to much emphasis on the symptoms, and not enough helpful answers.

for me it started like this:
I had a panic attack while smoking weed while tripping my nuts off on 2CB-FLY. i had taken about 40MG, and about 4-5 hours in i decided to smoke some weed (i was an avid weed user at that time). I was laughing my ass off with my buddy on snapchat, when at one moment this gnarly thought got dumped into me of ''what would my buddy think if i was on drugs *again*?'' because that was at a time where i did quite a lot of drugs. i guess that realization hit me that my drug use really was becoming a problem.
anyways, i spiraled into a NASTY trip from there on out, thoughts like ''what if im gonna go crazy, what if it gets so bad that i cant do anything but kill myself'' visions of an ambulance picking me up from home because i did something incredibly bad etc etc. that ofcourse did not help.
I rode the trip out, and the week after i started getting anxiety/panic attacks. Feelings of impending danger following me around, like a man with a gun would be standing around the corner waiting for me etc. a feeling like i was being hunted, even though there was nothing happening.
Then i started getting into the fear of turning schizophrenic or having a psychosis. Even just reading the word could trigger me.
Anyways, right now i still suffer from random anxiety, i have bad days and good days, but the thought of doing drugs or thinking back leaves a nasty feeling for me. i wonder how long its gonna take to completely get over it and shake those bad feelings...
