Mari is a wonderful artist. There is no pretense in her personality. Her playing makes music live - she resurrects music from the printed page into beautiful, meaningful sound. One of her RUclips videos (of Vivaldi's four seasons) has over 38 million views. That has to be a record for a classical musician. I have deep, deep respect for her.
This is the first time I’ve heard her speak…. Beautiful and wise… also she was instrumental in bringing me into appreciating classical music, which is quite an accomplishment.
Music is primal especially when played expressively like Mari does. Classical music touches the pre-verbal parts of the brain which is why it's uplifting, almost spiritual, because it's vibratory wave connects to the primal or first sounds of expression, emotion, we made as a child.
