"The dog's tail wagged. It was his tail's job: To synchronize all nearby moods to the measure of his joy. A metronome of happiness." - James Miller, A Small Fiction. (Of course I thought of your Jack when I read this...) Thank you for bringing us the joy of a forest walk, a watercolour, and a wagging tail. 😊❤🙏🏼
Beautiful walk. Autumn is my favourite time of the year with all the colours. Thanks to all of you for doing this for us, Sarah, Willie and of course Jack. So special.
Hi Sarah such a lovely walk, love the hidden tower in the woods, so romantic. You always find the most beautiful mushrooms, I always thought the fly agaric was the prettiest till today, but I've never seen a red wax cap before it's a stunner, are they a poisonous or edible mushroom 🍄 would be a shame if they're poisonous as they would look very pretty on a breakfast plate with bacon and an egg. Thank you for another amazing day out, it was so beautiful and peaceful, had to laugh at Jack for yelling at you to get off the swing,I think he feared you might hurt yourself bless him. Much love to you Willie and Jack, see you next week 😘
Thanks Linda! Yes a we never realised Jack was so against swings haha! 😅 It’s like he doesn’t trust me to not fall off… I believe those mushrooms are edible, however they are in decline due to habitat loss, so we always leave them where they are for others to find as well 😊
Thank you for a wonderful trip! Spectacular views. I love your hair dark it brings out your beautiful eyes. Keep up your wonderful work. Lots of love from Diane in upstate New York.
Aww thanks Diane. I’m always torn between growing out my natural colour and keeping the orange haha! I like having both though, so I can change between them by putting my hair up 😊
Big tree country, how apt for such a beautiful area. Lovely walk Sarah set off even more by Willie’s guitar music, particularly that piece he played while you strolled across that bridge with the loch in the background! He should call it Sarah’s theme. Jack certainly seemed concerned when you jumped on the swing!!
A truly amazing find in the woods, love the abandoned places. Especially when you find them unexpectedly! Scotland has some of the most beautiful country. List of interruptions....DUCKS! lol 🦮🌳🦆
Haha yeah - the ducks had it in for me! Sometimes I love going on a walk without doing too much research about what I might find - as the surprise element is really exciting!
Wow, that opening scene across Loch Tay was gorgeous. Thanks for teaching me the word dreich - it's perfect for describing today's weather in Virginia.
Sorry for being a wet blanket,i'm here for the dog,i enjoy your paintings aswell.I love the freedom your spaniel has. Love both sides,be it nature and painting or the spaniel, sorry but i just love the dog. Best a luck Willie,a perfect Gentleman.
Nice Rainy day there to enjoy. Interesting monument out in forest. Yay! A tower to climb. I love how you come across all these ruins to explore. Thank you for the history behind them. That pizza looked yummy. Lovely color of the scarlet wax mushrooms. Painting came out pretty good.
Your other half suggested paying your site a visit and I’m so glad that I did! What amazing paintings. I love watching you paint this. Thank you for inspiring me to paint again. ❤
That was a beautiful walk, and I can’t wait to see it all again after the repairs. Watching you paint is so mesmerizing. Thanks for sharing beautiful Scotland with us.
Loved the walk, such beautiful scenery. You captured the mushrooms perfectly and Jack definitely enjoyed the walk and the water as per usual. Take care and thank you for sharing 👍🙏❤️
I really enjoy all of your videos but this one was really special as we stayed in Kenmore in 2009. We saw the Robert Burns writing on the chimney breast and the Crannog Centre in full operation. I sure hope they can rebuild it as it was. So many memories, thank you!
So beautiful! What a stunning opening shot. I wish Jack was little more expressive so you tell when he's happy. 😆 He's so fun to watch, especially when he hits the water. I loved the Rapunzel tower, that was one of my favorites so far, not sure why...perhaps because there wasn't anyone around and it was just the right height to climb. Willie got some great shots of you there. The mushrooms you found were some of the most beautiful yet (including the one you didn't paint). As usual your painting captured the beauty perfectly. It amazes me every time. I don't think I'll ever tire of watching you bring each one to life. Thank you again for including us on your adventure. 😊
Aww thank you so much! I loved this walk - we didn’t find what we were aiming for exactly, but the things we did find were so interesting and beautiful 😊
Jack always has a wonderful time. From what little I have seen of Scotland (from your videos), there is a lot to see and visit there. Those mushrooms are beautiful. Some of the places you go look a little like places in Kentucky. I wonder if the smells are the same? Wet leaves, water, soil, wet bricks and stones all have a smell of their own.
Thanks Arvetta! Jack always has the BEST time, pretty much wherever he is, as long as it isn’t the vets or having to take a bath 😂 I love the woodland smells in autumn - the damp leaves and wood smoke coming across from nearby houses 😊
Beautiful walk. The tower is gorgeous. Can you imagine trying to get up there in the long dresses. I love the bloopers at the end of all your videos. If I could only paint like you! Looking forward to the next one.
Another beautiful village! I love that you can still see Burns writing on the chimney breast! The drone shots are stunning and I really like the folly. Gorgeous painting 😀💗 x
Those scarlet wax caps are stunning! Not a species I remember seeing. If I have a big house one day I'd love to have a tower with a stair case like that to sit in 😂 It's special sitting in the tree canopy! Wonderful mature trees there 😍
Haha yeah me too! I’d love a house with a turret some day 😂 Waxcaps are really beautiful, but I think they are declining by because of habitat shortage (they don’t like places where chemicals or pesticides have been used 😕)
What a stunninly beautiful village, looks great in it's autumnal colours and you are right, the rainy mist really adds to it. Oh my that surprise tower, so nice that you can go inside it and it's set in such a lovely location. Such a shame about the crannog, hopefully they can get it started up again soon. Thank you so much for showing us around another spectacular Scottish location ... and the wee giggle I had at your lucky leaf catching attempts 😉🤣
There is a gentleman in London, that gathers up the Red phone boxes and refurbishes them. Not cheap. But I learned that the crown on top dates them. We have one in Savannah Ga. at the 6 Pence Restaurant. Totally British Pub, complete with traditional food. I love the bar as it was brought over on an British ship and the mast of said ship broke on the trip, so it was used in the pub. I love the Plowman Lunch. Pickle, Scotsegg, wedge of cheese, soup usually with barley and greens and hard bread. Now I'm hungry! I love the color of the Waxcap!
Haha! I’m starting to feel a bit peckish to 😂 Phone boxes are still sometimes used here, but they have mostly been phased out. A lot of villages will turn them into something else - like a defibrillator location or maybe a mini library. It’s such a shame to see them gone to ruin 😢
Scotland looks lovely in the Autumn colours. The drone shot above the Loch and bridge is a spectacular one! I like all the pretty mushrooms you spotted, Sarah. The painting’s specimen are 😮!
oh my Sarah…this mushroom is absolutely stunning! 😍 definitely one of my favorites. you really captured the definition! and the color story is amazing. as always, love the little bloopers at the end. 😊
We're so lucky that we get to watch you show us some stunning places and buildings, Loch Tay is just gorgeous, even when Scotland is moody and dreich, it's beautiful. And you find the most amazing hidden gems on your walks, I loved that tower, and the door was open! I'd love to go there and look out from the top 😍 I can't believe Willie caught that leaf 🤯 without even trying! (I'm hoping to god I'm not giving it away and you've already seen when editing!) I imagine you were shocked when you saw that lol. Thank you for a video that I've ran out of adjectives to describe lol, it was so beautiful it makes me want to go 🤗
Hi Sarah, I loved this walk! I read through the comments you received and think you are most gracious with your response to criticisms! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I thoroughly enjoy your narration, willie's filming and music, jack's joy and your extreme talent at watercolor! It is all first rate. Can't wait for my calendar, arent they shipping this month? Cheers from Pennsylvania, USA🍁Larisa
Aww thank you Larisa! I try to take on board any constructive criticism in the comments, although I’m well aware that the internet is also full of not so nice people. Fortunately I haven’t had any nasty things said yet, but if it happens then there is always the ‘block’ button 😂 Yes - calendars arrived from the printers this week, so I’m keeping very busy getting them all packaged up to send asap 😀
Love the rapunzel tower! I'll have to show this to the niece and nephew as they love playing rapunzel on the climbing frame. Lovely scenery around Kenmore - some of the shots of the hills and water in the mist reminded me of around Wanaka in NZ
My dog went nuts when ducks started quacking. Does Jack like to SWIM or does he prefer water where his feet touch the ground? Awesome monument/tower, I love it. Beautiful mushrooms! Your painting is stunning, enjoyed watching it all. Thanks Sarah, Willie (great filming) and Jack (for being Jack)
Aww thanks Debbie! Hope your dog calmed down when it realised the ducks were not real haha! Jack definitely prefers to paddle rather than swim, although he will occasionally jump into the deeper water and he will happily go in after a stick!

Enjoyed this adventure so much. The trees, the colours, and what a beautiful opening scene. Jack in his element,Robbie Burns poem and the tower. I always feel refreshed after my walk! Thank you Sarah, and Willie for his music and drone work, and Jack for his tail❤️ Your painting was so special too. The lord of the manor made me chuckle, nipping out to see his concubine, funny how some aspects of life change very little!

i like your videos as im an exiled scot who grew up in dunkeld perthshire. but i wish that you would research the proper pronunciation of local places. i watched one where you pronounced brechin as brekin, its breechin, and breadalbane has a long a sound in the middle breadaalbane and said slowly but otherwise i do like your videos, thank you from northern california

Beautiful walk. Autumn is my favourite time of the year with all the colours. Thanks to all of you for doing this for us, Sarah, Willie and of course Jack. So special.
She walks, she paints - she does some walking & lets the camera do the talking. Nicely done again.
I am impressed with Mother nature of Scotland. I absolutely love the low lying clouds/fog on the hill tops!
It was stunning wasn’t it? Love it when the clouds lie so low like that - very moody!
Thank you very much. These videos bring such warmth to my heart, i cannot explain in words.
Wat een prachtig aquarel , zo mooi van kleur!
Liefs van RINI.🍁🍄🍂
Thank you Rini! I was hoping to capture the beautiful colours 😊
That pizza look delicious!
It was lovely - especially with that view to go with it 😍 We didn’t know about this place beforehand so it was a lovely discovery 👍

Thanks Jaclyn!
What an amazing place. Oh and the scarlet capped mushrooms reminded me of the Cardinals in Monty Pyrhon's Spanish Inquisition sketch😁
Ahaha yeah!

Thanks Penny! I was so excited when I found the door was open haha 😂
As always that is a beautiful and awesome watercolour ❤
Wow, that opening scene across Loch Tay was gorgeous. Thanks for teaching me the word dreich - it's perfect for describing today's weather in Virginia.
Thank you Steven! Glad I could impart some knowledge haha 😂 Scotland has the best word for wet, gloomy weather haha!
Loved the video Sarah. The autumn colours are amazing! Jack really seemed to enjoy it! Best wishes, John.

Thanks lovely! Yeah - the lakes around NZ are almost as stunning as the Scottish Lochs 😉
Hi Sarah. Absolutely fantastic video! I really enjoyed this walk in Autumn way.👍👍
Your buddy looks like he's enjoying a walk in the fall too😊💕💕💕
Thanks! Yes - we both love the is time of year. So beautiful and nice and cool for Jack Spaniels to run around 😊
So happy to have come across your channel. 💚💚
Thanks Emma! So glad you liked the video 😊

Another enjoyable programme. We have a suburb named Kenmore here in Brisbane. Possibly named after the Scottish village of Kenmore I will have to do a bit of research. Keep up the good work
Thanks Ivan! Yes it could be named after this village - how cool would that be?
Enjoyed this adventure so much. The trees, the colours, and what a beautiful opening scene. Jack in his element,Robbie Burns poem and the tower. I always feel refreshed after my walk! Thank you Sarah, and Willie for his music and drone work, and Jack for his tail❤️ Your painting was so special too. The lord of the manor made me chuckle, nipping out to see his concubine, funny how some aspects of life change very little!
Thanks Jane! So glad you liked it all 😊 We all had a great time on this walk!
I looked up pictures of Taymouth Castle. The listing also showed a picture of the Chinese Bridge.
It’s a very cool building - Victorian gothic. Can’t wait to see what happens with it!
😻Hi Sarah, love your videos 👍was just wondering if you could add a small map at the start of your wonderful videos to pin pointing exactly where in Scotland you are each week, Thank you for making and sharing your wonderful videos of your walks around Scotland 😻💕
Hi Lizzy - thanks for watching & commenting!! I keep thinking I should do a map and never seem to find the time haha! I will see what I can do going forwards 😉
Fabulous scenery and lovely mushrooms. Were any of the mushrooms edible? They are all so beautiful and rich in color. 🌻🐕🥰🇺🇸
Thank you Guadalupe! Yes those mushrooms are edible, however they are in decline at the moment due to habitat loss - so we prefer to leave them where they are for others to enjoy too 😊
Sarah,
Did you both eat that BIG pizza, it looked delicious??
How could you walk after that?:)
Cheers,
Rik
Haha, we had a pizza each actually (Sarah & Willie - Jack had the crusts), although Willie did snaffle some of mine as I couldn’t finish it 😅
Tower looked like Barad Dur
Haha yeah it does look a bit Tolkien-esque doesn’t it? That’s probably why I liked it so much 😂
Sorry to cut in your video, Sara, but Jack,
could you please tell me what camera you use, the images are so sharp.?
Cheers,
Rik
Hi Rik! I use a Go-Pro Hero8 for all the walking shots and a Canon camera for any close up detail shots. 😊

Would you consider painting something other than a plant
She does, look on Etsy, there are all sorts, buildings, animals, birds and insects!
Hi Laura! Yes I do paint a variety of things - it just depends what catches my eye on the walk (and what I can manage to photograph well 😅).
