WDP4D is my most and best favourite diesel locomotive of India and it's the diesel king of Indian railways. In fact I am a great fan of EMD locomotives.

Why did they change traction
Some Diesel locomotives are fairly new and Railway doesn't want them to stay unutilized. It would also help to improve eloco shortage as well.
